An ultra'ed out street glide AND a super'ed out lowrider S? Andrew is ballin outta control!
The more I look at Andrew’s Low Rider the more I like it. You rocked it, Andrew!
Thanks man! much appreciated!
117ci. Wow. What a great engine. Must be a blast. Proper engine break-in is key. Thanks for sharing and ride safe
Thanks Ryan!
This is an insanely awesome paint job.
Very informative and genius cuts on the audio, especially when you changed camera angles. High quality stuff, as always!
Gosh Darn Andrew!
Can’t wait to go on rides with this dude again.
Had to watch the vid after seeing the pics of the bike.
Y’all are doing well with these videos!
Another trick, always point the gas nozzle toward the ground before trying to refuel. They leak and have a surplus of gas stored up.
That’s a good idea especially if you have an custom paint on tank.
Along with using the underside of your gas cap as a catch while transitioning to the tank.
we all thought the same when seeing it hahahaha, yep
Bike turned out really awesome it's all the little things that make a cool take care guys thanks for the video Matt
Thanks for watching brother
Sounds amazing. The TBR exhaust is really cool.
Yea, it's a great sounding pipe
LOL! That intro ruled! Loved it. The bike is sick. I would love to have a bike like this someday.
For gauges, use your phone. Download a app called “speedometer” from the App Store. Place your phone on your bars and that’s the end of that. You’ll never have to look down again
Now that is a sweet bike, not much into club style but wow, astonishing dyna, love the color and the sound she makes
LOL yea, I almost dropped the camera when he said that
Another awesome and informative video didn’t know the extent of the break-in cycle. Thanks guys!
Best music and comment (stretch marks on your face) on a motorcycle video EVER !! Haha, love it. Andrew, love your bike, enjoy.
Thanks man! Much appreciated!
Perfect music for spilling gas on your tank! Very trick bike, he must not be married. LOL!!!
Hahaha
Either the wife or GF have a great bike to ride :)
I’m married an own a low rider s
I felt his pain on that spill.
I agree 100% when engine kit are being discussed. Not so much when it is a full build. When it's been sent to a shop to get bored over and gets cams and high compression pistons and ring, complete head work and the whole nine. Fallow your builder advise. Lots of real hot engine built for big power get a hard brake in. They cycle it to operating temp and let it cool then run it with a light load. Then they just give it hell. Some ring need to imprint on the cylinders. Many race team brake engine in like this. It is only for builds that call for it, not the majority. Still important info none the less.
The spirit of John Candy has possessed Matt Laidlaw. Polka!
I see how it is. To work for Laidlaw H-D you have'ta be passionate about the bikes. Secret to a happy life.
hahah YES!!
SUPER paint job ....really makes that bike !!!
Killer bike and informative as always Matt.
Keep em' coming sir!
Btw, nothing wrong with an occasional polka every now and then.
these guys must make the big money at Laidlaws to be riding these sweet bikes!
Matt with that music I expected you guys in leather Harley lederhosen LOL . Andrew this project bike WOW the paint you guys do out there is so KOOL, yeah do the suspension and put some gearing into that bike to give you at least a 3.23 final drive. Get the calculator out, figure out the gearing and then see how fast you come out of the corners…Matt excellent explanation on the breaking in of a new bike or a new engine build……seating the rings is the key to engine longevity……….Matt I hear you on the forum guys and they wonder why their burning a qt of oil every 600 miles
Thanks Aggie.
Matt you obviously pay your guys well...not 1 but 2 bad ass bikes... #jealous
Love the bike! Love the polka! Love the videos! Keep em coming Matt.
Thank you! thanks for watching!
Great looking and sounding bike
Lol. Polka. I’m not that concerned with the break in but ... oh .. my .. gawd.. !!! That paint is just the bomb! That is stunning!
Makes perfect sense Matt, I was curious about the technical aspects of the break in on a new engine, I rebuild CNC machinery and the bearing mfgs recommend the same type of varied run speeds and cool down cycles.
Interesting on the breakin procedure... “ ring micro welding” something I’ve never heard of but makes sense...
Thanks for going over the break-in protocols. Can you do a Stage IV 117 kit for an out of state Low Rider S? Indiana to be exact. Nice bike.
Lol reading the break in procedure straight from the book like Mr. Rogers
POLKA........Just in time with German Fest here in Milwaukee.....ooooommpaa
Lol, yea we planned it that way
The 🎶 get the lederhosen on !!! Love the bike Andrew..nice to see a loud bike in CA...just get the suspension done...raise that final drive to 3.23 or more !! you sound like you like to ride where your getting max Tq 👍
Matt excellent info on breaking in a build... seating the rings is so important and crucial to longevity of your engine build
Love the Polka!!
Well, it’s not my cup of tea, I’ll just stick to my Streetglide, but it is a fine set of mods you did to that machine. Enjoy it!👊✌️
Beautiful paint job!
The old saying don't get high on your own supply, just because you work at a restaurant doesn't mean you have to go broke eating everything in the restaurant. Lol
Awesome video! Can't wait to put the 117 kit in my FXDLS. What kind of helmet is he wearing? I've been looking into SHOEI.
Its a RF-1200
Arcon13 thanks!
Very nice ride .....love to hear the dyno numbers ...light bike that should rock out
Matt Laidlaw if you can make guess, do you think the 2019 touring models will get the 114s stock like the Softails of 2018?
My friend, I get in trouble if I speculate. Subscribe and hit the bell icon to be notified when I publish new content. I will be live streaming at the show like last year. When I know you will know whats new for 2019
Matt Laidlaw it was worth a shot to ask. I’ve been a subscriber for a while and look forward to your videos. Keep up the great work.
Awesome bike awesome video as usual keep it coming bro! I have to say I love Harley but that break in process is fucking ridiculous.
That thing is fawkin sick, keep it coming.
Andrew is pretty happy with it!
Matt Laidlaw I bet, I've been wanting an FXDLS with a 117,it's just so badass.
Hey Matt, I did learn a couple things from this, but I do have a question. This being the proper procedure, is the engine configuration the reason for a different break-in than other bikes? I don't know what Harley does at the factory, but many of the Japanese bikes are put on a dyno before leaving factory and do wide open throttle minutes into its first start. I think we can agree those sportbikes are pretty powerful. Also, I love this FXDLS! Mine has yet to get custom paint. It's a daily and weather blows in Indiana.
Awesome bike! That bike is sweet!!
Beautiful paint job. Great looking bike.
Nice bike, and very good info thank you
What a gorgeous bike. 🤘
Beautiful Harley❤️🏍💨🔥
You need to put a load on those rings in a new engine which means doing a lot of short 75% full throttle runs but only do 75% of the redline, stop to let engine cool and repeat and don’t to do any sustained speeds for any length of time, as don’t go on the freeway for any longer than 10 miles, otherwise the cylinders won’t be scored properly and the rings won’t be seated in correctly causing oil blow by. Do this as much as possible until 1000 or 1500 miles.
I Love your paint job very class. Lucky Daves seat is also the best unknown secret to saddleman step up, it much better quality and comfort. Just put one on my Lowrider. Love it made the ride so much better, best thing I have done to my MC and I have done a lot.
Awesome bike !
Please give me a link to those rear signals !
Love that paint...awesome scoot !
Awesome paint! What is that color?
Awesome intro!
Replaced the 117 cylinders twice due to an oil leak on my low rider S, till finally the dealer got me a brand new 110 again and I stuck with that... The 110 is a bored out 103 and couldn't handle the 117 upgrade... That H-D cutting corners...
How much should I expect to save up to get a paint job in this style? I see alot of club styles like this online. Id love to be one of the only guys around here with one.
Curious how you have attached your custom dynamics license plate to fender
Nice ride, really like the paint scheme. I would like to make the front wind screen into The Predator (from the Schwarzeneggar movie) using the two front bolts as eyes. Shameless plug for Longhaulpaul doing 1million miles to raise awareness for MS on his Teneres. Check his seat maker friend Bill Mayer Saddles near Ventura if ya get a chance. Really appreciate the note on a soft break-in. Seat the rings, valves etc, great info, thanks.
The world needs more accordions.
Haha As long as I only hear them once in a while
You cracked me up with the polka, but bro-science, that really got me😂 Lotsa bro-scientists with BS degrees out there😉
Haha. Yup
Matt Laidlaw do you think they’ll bring back a blacked out low rider S in 2020?
Wow, pretty cool bike!
THX for the Video!
Keep rocking!
This is a really cool bike, but i for the life of me cannot stand fairings at all. The 2018's Fat Boy nacelle is about the only "fairing" like design ive ever liked.
The paint is killer though, and 117ci Twincam? I didn't know that you could do that. That's insane.
Love the paint, I need a ride that needs paint like that!
Who makes that 2 into 1 pipe?
Thanks,
Mormon Bret
Bret Archibald TBR
Its a Two Brothers Racing megaphone exhaust
They may need to make a Tuba exhaust now...(Polka!)
Wicked rumble to it
Nice looking bike sounds good too. I've got a 2018 sgs and looking for a nicer 2up seat couldn't make out where you got yours could you help me out? Thx.
Its a Lucky Daves seat really nice
Great information for breaking in a new engine.
Thanks man. Thanks for checking it out.
Bike came out Chingón!!
Not a fan of gloves on the highway?
Does the same apply for running in a new bike? Or are they run in before delivery to some degree?
The "Chicken Strips" on the rear tire are very skinny! Very Nice!
Who did this paint job? I tried looking him up but couldn’t find any info. Thx
Andrew I'm going to buy a lowrider s and I'm considering an oil cooler. What are your thoughts?
Im going to do it for sure! anything to help my bike to run cooler, especially cause im running a 117
Arcon13 thanks man. Which one would be best? Have you researched any?
That’s the best sounding M8 I think I’ve heard.
sk8777kid1 - It’s a Twin Cam.
Keep the rubber side up,nice bike for a young man.
Thank you sir!!!
For ANY Man.
Will a 117 inch engine keep with with a 600cc bike or a Vrod?
Maybe from 0-60 but I doubt beyond that.
bluecapone It’s impressive how fast a Vrod really is when you start looking at all these big stroker bigs with mods etc.
Joseph Andreuccetti
For sure, a modded vrod can really rip.
I’d like to do a hammer 1275 kit for a Sportster and make around 120 hp. I think it would be a killer.
They have a video of one on this channel in a roadster. So badass.
This bike is beautiful can you get the same look with a streebob
Sweet paint...Time to change the rims! PC black....they just dont go with the paint job...
Damn... nick and Andrew should have a vid where they compare both stage 4 bikes. Dyna vs softail
Stay Tuned!
Interesting you said that......
There is no comparison. Let's be real here.
Patiently waiting lol
Its going to be a bit, we want the dyno to be in that video and its being updated/upgraded currently. And then its going to take a while to edit it all together, and there are a few videos we need to release before then as well. Hopefully soon though!
Good info. Love the bike.
David and Andrew have two of the best looking FXDLS' I've seen. David's paint job wins by a hair though lol
That thing sounds so fucking good!
Can we get a contact info for the Ted Courts guy, who did the paint job?
Sick bike good info on break in
I guess im the only one that realizes those are not ProTaper bars, they are Renthal FatBars. You cant run ProTapers on TBW bikes. But sweet ass ride!
Just new to harley game I love this style can you achieve the same look with streetbon or soft tail
no good when you cannot see the lil old lady in front of you..... insta crash .
where your rider boots at?
lol , Matt ... introduce that guy to a pair of highway safe H-D rider boots plz. seeing him riding like that ( may as well say he gone barefooted ) is sad.
very good introduction of polka music, it works really well.
well done on the break-in process of the new engine kit.
awsome vodeo !!
what exhaust pipe is that? what diameter are the pipes at the head are they 2inch?
I know I’m 2 years too late, but I love the paint! I’ve been trying to track down who it is. Matt or Andrew, if you’re reading this, can you throw me a link or a handle for his socials or website or something?
I'm looking for a stainless 2-1 exhaust for my dyna, I wonder if the two brothers pipe in this video will work with forward controls?
What air cleaner do you have on that bike?
HD heavy Breather.
Where does the elevator go to?
Heaven
Gorgeous bike
SICK! Great info on the break-in as I have read lots lately about "break it in like you're gonna ride it" quite different info from the Corporation that will have to do the warranty work! And the Polka...LOL!!!!
Someone should let Chevron know how much better getting gas would be with Polka music!!!!!
I use my gas cap to catch the drips when putting nozzle back after fueling...Almost like it was made for it!
Yea. People are all over the break-in procedures. There is a right way to do it and a wrong way.
Super sharp...
I want to know if the shoei rf1200 is a good helmet for upright cruising. I know it’s more a sport bike helmet so.....?
I’ve never personally used that helmet. Shoei is a great helmet though. I’m sure it’s great.
Were these protaper bars of renthal Bars??
DaVinci's Garage sorry you’re right! They are Renthal Fatbars!
@@speedpig513 i went with the rc mini bar from hardcase. IMO its the perfect setup!
Hey Matt,
I recently bought this exact bike from the guy that bought it from Andrew. Am trying to locate the painter so I can see if he will paint a FXRT fairing for me. Is there any way you could msg me his info or shoot him mine?
That is a bad ass bike
what company is the license plate mount from?
Where was the fairing from?
a beast, cool bike bud, well done 'n ridd'n holding back... hahaha
Love this bike ....I’m surprised it’s for sale on cycle trader. I might buy it.
Get it man. 👍🏻 it’s a great bike.
