I shot one of these older selects and then the new select energy. The energy is a big improvement on the older selects. I Ended up buying the new energy with the investor plus extended chokes. It is slightly barrel heavy but not massively, balances about 4mm in front of hinge, patterns are fantastic and it is heavier than the older models and as such recoil is not bad at all. Very similar ejector set up to the 686 models too so easy maintenance. Downsides, wood to metal fit isn't breathtaking, the barrel selector and safety hasn't got that refined beauty of a beretta, recoil pad isn't as good a grade of rubber as beretta/browning. But for £1300 brand new with 5 inv+ extended chokes, adjustable comb and superb ABS box, its a great value gun in my opinion for a first gun, or even a step up from the lower priced budget guns.
Very very good information. Thank you for sharing this with us. Price different between this and browning 525. How is the quality of this gun as compare to browning and Beretta? Do you think that this one as durable as both above? Thanks in adv
Lloyd have you ever come across the later Winchester select sporting signature??the one with the extended chokes etc?? Could you do a review on one please?
Correct, what you are describing is a review. Opinion based on experience of testing guns on this channel for the past 3 years and my shooting experience over the last 30 years. How much value you put in that is up to you.

I think the budget gun market is so competitive now, the Winchester doesn't do enough to differentiate from the competition.

The good thing is that you can get a sporter for 1/4 the price of a new beretta - when you buy used...
Another very honest review, can you do one on a Bettensoli sometime?
As soon as you can get RUAG to send me one, it's on.

Short answer, stick to Browning or Beretta.

Not seen one I'm afraid.
I personally don’t think this is a fair review. It’s 2022 almost now and this gun performs great and the value holds well!
I have Winchester 101 sporting cost me 2500ca$
And so far it’s my favourite o/u
It better than some expensive stuff
Thanks for watching man.
Thank you for your honesty. Great review
thanks for watching

This guy offer his opinion with no facts to back up his claims. Just his opinion, if you value that.
