absolutely love how much you blokes gas up Beau, truly wholesome content
Really rate the videos mate. Thanks.
Love seeing young Beau in the vids! Will there be a Beau Gumps CZcams channel one day?
@@nickgrech9634 the quiet achiever! Have some Beau episodes in the pipeline to show everyone how good he is. Dont know about his own channel hes not really about it haha
From memory L76's were in VZ sedans and L98's were in VZ Ute's.
L76 had displacement on demand but it was disabled in the VZ
Makes sense since the two ones they have in the shop are Ute/sedan. Nice pickup
That's what I recall from the time, the utes were the only ones to get the L98.
awesome
Ian is absolutely stoked bro
We live off a service road and both of us hammer down there 😂 plenty of v8 noise
Love to see and hear more on these 6l vz's, hopefully the ute is in for a few more upgrades very interested to see the numbers, cheers for the extra info throughout the video pretty intresting
Sure is that video will be out tonight. On the Ute we got the oppertunity to do a back to back test on CNC heads!
The ute at the end looked clean 🤤
It will be up tonight!
i have the same Black VZ L76 shes a beast, engine needs a refresh tho
There was no series 2. They changed to the L76 on January 1st 2006 to meet new emissions and there was no point in upgrading the LS1. Also the autos are 4L65 behind the L76, not 60’s. Same auto behind the LS2 in the HSV’s. Utes continued past August 2006 when the VE came out and then the VZ ute was fitted with the L98 into 2007. L76 has the DOD hardware but Holden did not activate it in the ECU for the VZ.
Were any of the auto Vz's L98 or all the autos L76? If so they had the bad lifters?
@@kevinobrien4155 auto or manual on both I think. L76 has the bad lifters with the DOD hardware, but mine is at nearly 200k km and they are ok still. But cam swap cost is higher because you have to swap the valley plate.
@@kevinobrien4155
Yes , I own a vz ss crewman which is a factory fitted l98 with 4 speed auto
@@ChrisArmstrong-ir3fg so sounds like only the utes for the L98 in the auto then
I have a 3 inch black ops exhaust system in my LS1 VY SV8 top sounding exhaust system runs 12s with cam and heads with a shift kit
L98s were only in utes late 06 onwards
Eye spy a V8 Adventra 👀
@@GetBuckAU unfortunately had to let that one go 😭 was so keen on it.
How did you manage to buy the headers when they are always out of stock?
How did you guys go with clearing the diff with this exhaust ?
@@rileytaylor1352 no dramas with this one. About the only thing we have ever had issues with the black ops was just trimming up the hangers on the centre mufflers to ensure they clear the tailshaft. Apart from that they fit just as well as any other on the market
VZ be weird 😆
Agreed the VZ are a mix bag, I have owned four now three were V8 and one V6 manual, one was the gen3 manual, l98 auto, l76 auto. my daily is a VZ Crewman l76 auto wanted a manual but hard to find and cost to much for a nice one. DO NOT TRY TO V8 SWAP A V6 JUST BUY ONE. It's not worth it I still have nightmare about it and I have owned that car in 6 years now
So the VZ is a basket case😂
