Welcome back to MarcelianOnline! Today, we’re looking at the affliction warlock rework in the war within alpha and right off the bat, this is a great improvement from what we have currently on the live game. It’s no exaggeration and yes, very subjective but both soul harvester and hellcaller warlock are good. I mean, war within warlock hero talents aside, what they actually did to the spec talents is just awesome and even though malefic rupture is still there, there are way more positives to just focus on that.
There will be a lot more iterating until war within beta and we do expect more updates for the affliction warlock hero talents so be sure to stay subscribed to not miss out on any update!

I have a feeling, that affli is often hyped before expansion, then its good on the beginning and worse and worse with every patch and balance update…
Can't wait for future "Ranged DPS Tier List" where Affliction lands in S or A, lmao. But seriously, these changes are the ones I was waiting for so long...

Honestly having vile taint and seed both have cast times and resource requirements while shadowcrash just exists always sends me back to spriest as the better rot spec. Better visuals and fun rotation as well- hopefully the hero talents bring affl back to a fun spec if we are stuck with MR

Absolutely loved Cunning of the cruel as a trinket back in Cata, it's awesome to see this as a talent/ proc going forward.
The visuals felt enriched in the spell lore/ theme of the class/ spec.
Everybody is on the same team. Can we get rid of Malefic rapture and go back to when UA was a 3 point shard and did UBER dmge.

A big thing I haven't seen anyone talk about yet with Hellcaller is whether or not Wither will benefit from talents that effect corruption. Stormbringer Shaman has a similar talent in Tempest that doesn't benefit from talents that buff lightning bolt.

You bring the correct arguments and many things I wanted to say on the state of warlocks. I DO NOT CARE FOR NUMBERS AND DAMAGE, I ONLY CARE FOR CLASS DESIGN
Does that mean Malevolent Visionary does a massive uncapped AOE if you put corruption on like 15+ mobs then summon him to refresh it and BOOM uncapped mega nuke? And also does it do more damage based on each dot it refreshes? Or any single dot same ammount?
Hope that will be Haste/Crit Stat Prio for Affli with this Talents, thats BOOM BOOM MASS NUMBERS
Malefic Rapture remains = Affliction Warlock is dead for me.
Almost every change are changes that I wanted... with the exception of keeping Rapture, Aff looks real fun

it's a bait spec, looks good in the beginning of expac, it even works for a starting season, and then boom spec goes into oblivion by S2...it lacks consistency and timely corrections, it takes Bliz whole season to collect data to see what needs fixing, then they patch something and screw spec even more, and then they still collect data for a whole seasons just to correct their own correction and the cycle repeats it-self.
Blizzard need to remove malefic rapture
Never really enjoyed Rupture, or even Siphon Life back in Legion. If they even baked in SL and just made perma corruption a non-choice node it'd feel better too. Or, some play with SL having a longer timer.
Then the Legion Boomer in me talking where if UA went back to the spender, it'd (personally) feel much more lovely to play. For the aoe option, can just have it a chance to spread and tick faster.
Damn this looks nice, might have to play affliction instead of demonology!

Blizzard can we get a legacy shadow bolt though?
As long as MR is the protagonist in the Affli Anime, I will not come back. I want to play a DoT class that actually does it's real damage through them instead of using them as buffs/combopoints for a burst spell.
Doom Blossom gone? Isn't that a huge hit for AoE output in M+, quite liked that talent..
Think they really need to consider removing or changing MR altogether, don't think anyone wants that over Doom Blossom + Seed? Warlock dev needs to sit in with Kala & some other Warlocks to get the feel of Affliction right, this isn't it - Side note: Hellcaller should be more Fire themed for Destro, and Soul Harvester should be the one with "Wither", they've missed the mark there.

yea we go through this in every beta. then the game comes out and aff is still Z tier. dont get your hopes up too much.

Man, just imagine some creepy bald demon just popping up behind you all the time to do some tweaking movements and stuff around you just dissolves... My sanity would be just gone.
imo talents should be about choices. if you can get all the cool things without sacrificing anything, then get rid of the talents concept and make everything spells and passives in the spellbook:))

@@MarcelianOnline The rework is alright. They didn't actually address button bloat and the core class tree for DK can use some further work.

If you like the class/build then play it, this meta crap is going nowhere.

SR 1 min, no seeds, manual dotting if the pack won't die in time.
No dot refreshing mechanism, like current set bonus or execute style.
Where is soul swap? If dots won't do damage then still F tier in pvp.
Why they keep removing spells? Like dread touch.
They could keep them around for no-meta players, for fun!
Hero talents are all about shaking up rotation, they seem ok for pve.
Simple fix: add a talent that applies Agony and Corruption from Seed. Fixed, you are welcome

drain soul is a pain in the ass it locks you on the spot in pve and pvp it always kils me i'm so tired of it

All warlock devs must be fired
the biggest issues with affliction lock boil down to the same core:
DoT builds in WoW suck.
it takes too long to get their stuff on everything in cleave fights, and steady damage, something DoT builds excel at, is not registered as all that good by the DPSmeter brain rotted crowd.
the people who only see the Details! score and nothing else. the same people that are the reason Aug Evokers are overtuned and OP, because, (according to one director for WoW, I forget who) "no one would have looked at it or tried it if it wasn't"
only burst damage is, something DoT builds suck at.
the fact that steady damage is not valued is a community issue
more cleave damage is something the devs need to work on, but is the much easier fix
and then there is the ramp up time for something like Agony
Affliction is the king of DoT DPS, which needs more love in WoW. that is the real reason they suck so much so often
here's hoping these changes fix that long term
@MarcelianOnline The reworks are great to see but could you inform us on some actual game play we should expect in TWW? All I am seeing is things that are worthy of a patch and nothing that is really selling TWW. Where is the actual content in this expansion? Because if its just Delves and the standard new raids, dungeons etc...Its not good enough. The only fun thing to do in wow right now is progress because outside of moving forward the game just doesn't have anything else to offer so I find my self just logging in one day a week for sparks and filling the vault. It just doesn't feel like a game that's worth a sub to play anymore so the lack of info on real activities in TWW is worrying. Delves just show how out of touch Blizzard really are and the rest of the stuff like warbands and hero talents would be great for a new patch but a new game?? no way!
yes its still wow. just like it was in DF and SL and BFA etc etc. do keys/raid/pvp. if you dont like any of those dont sub.
@@Beamin439 You didn't mention Legion? Legion had content to do outside of progression. like skins, cool cosmetics that drop from mobs, class order halls and the mage tower. I do enjoy the end game content but its really lacking. SL and BFA both had more world content than DF. I like the game but at the same time have standards. I do not pay subs for other games so unless its actually good I am not doing it anymore. Also PVP is the worst its ever been and the participation rate proves that.
