No Hicks is looking really small and tiny and short. For a strongman hes tiny. If he were to wrestle Hafthor he'd be tossed like a doll hes like half his size. Even if Graham Hicks had 10 WSM titles and Hafthor had 0, Hafthor would be stronger. Because real strength is mainly based on real size, and thats the truth.
A horse can probably deadlift a few kilos if any, but it would wipe the floor with hafthor and probably pull more than twice as much weight in a truckpull. Its 500kg of muscle, therefore its stronger.

Good luck in prep for SMOE. Greatings from Poland, I met you in Warsaw after Arnold UK before going to gym and meeting you motivated me to believe i will compete some day at strongman💪
Get involved and compete now, there's usually always plenty of strongman comps, I just did my first one and really loved it! If you're already strength training might as well take the plunge and get involved, no need to wait for some far away/out there date... Of course, we're talking local comps and things on a smaller scale not the international level, still lots of fun though!
Edit to add: I see you're already doing strongman from your profile pic! so I take it you meant he motivated you to get in strongman, that's awesome! Same shindig here, watching guys like Thor and Shaw and other strongman is what motivated me too to try it out and develop an interest in such!
Graham might break it with 505, I think him and Makarov are the two who can do it, but Hafthor is just another level of a monster. If needed he will do 510, 515, 520 or even heavier! He is the strongest human in history!
When using straps, is it better to put the thumb on the outside of the bar or use the standard grip?

I’ll be announcing it soon once I know for sure. As of today I don’t know when I will get that opportunity. The only opportunity I have currently is at SMOE.

I think Graham can pull 505. I have followed him years before he was an open weight strongman and he's always been very powerful, going back to his 105kg days
Being lean and this strong with months to go means his prep is going well. Hafthor also went lean before going all out. It makes sense to be as strong as possible at the lighter weight before you gain mass

Have you thought about doing AMRAP sets of deadlifts like Nick Best has done, like 260-300kg for max reps?
