  • I know.....if you don't show it in the video then it never happened...LOL. Believe it or not, I washed my hands and all of the surfaces repeatedly throughout the video, every time I touched the chicken. I didn't think having everyone watch me wash my hands and everything down every time would be entertaining, and we even discussed your exact comment before we posted the video. Anyway, we hope that you liked it and thanks for watching our video. The chicken really is fantastic!!!

@betsylaughlin7523 - $10??? What a major find! That is so awesome, and I'm sure you're going to love the chicken. We had another viewer comment on other things to try on the chicken besides just parsley. She suggested "How bout garlic pepper, salt, Rosemary, etc?" We've tried garlic, salt, and pepper before, but the Rosemary sounds fantastic!
Thanks so much for the constructive comment and thanks for watching our video.

My favorite yard sale purchase! I bought mine close to 20 years ago. Best rotisserie chicken ever! I have a recipe where you stuff with paprika & then baste it with a mix of milk, lemon juice, paprika, salt & pepper. Sounds weird but it is amazing! German recipe.

    • @livinthenewcomblife
      @livinthenewcomblife  Před rokem +2

That is definitely an awesome yard sale purchase!!! I wonder if the seller ever regrets getting rid of it. I've used mine for all kinds of things: shrimp, ribs, a whole turkey, and shish kabob...I use it as much as I can. That recipe sounds great...I'll have to keep it in mind. Thanks so much for watching our video!!!

@@livinthenewcomblife I don't think they know what they had! My husband didn't think we'd use it as much as we do. My comment also should have said stuff with parsley, not paprika.
      Black Forest Oktoberfest Chicken
      Ingredients:
two 2/12 to 3 pound whole chickens
      2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon salt and pepper mixed
      1/2 cup milk
      juice of 1 lemon
      fresh parsley
      Directions:
Wash and dry chickens. Tuck wings under breast and bind legs together. Stuff the cavity with fresh parsley. Thoroughly mix paprika, salt and pepper mixture, milk and lemon juice to create the marinade.
String the chickens head-to-tail on the spit of your rotisserie and secure. Paint the chickens evenly with the marinade. Start roasting with high heat until the skin cooks to a light brown. Turn down the heat and roast slowly until the juices of the chicken are clear in color. Depending on your rotisserie, the chickens will be thoroughly roasted in 60 to 90 minutes. Serves four.

Hey Jerry! My mom and I enjoyed watching your mom’s cooking demos early on. I happened to search rotisserie chicken on CZcams
and your episode came up first.
I rescued the “Set It And Forget It” from the basement, cleaned it up and set it up to cook on the screened porch. It hadn’t been used in ten years; still workes like a top. I used your simple recipe and my 4.75 lb chicken was delicious. I’ll be back to your channel periodically to check what else is cooking! Thanks!

I have the steamer tray that comes with the ronco, and I fill that with whatever veg I want to roast, coated in a little oil and seasoning, and place it under the chicken inside the unit instead of on top. Of course you do not use the steamer lid when you do this as it is a plastic and will melt. Just take the catch tray out and use the bottom of the steamer tray full of your veg in the place of the catch tray. Perfect roasted veg!!!

@user-yg8zx6ww4m - I know.....if you don't show it in the video then it never happened...LOL Believe it or not, I washed my hands and all of the surfaces repeatedly throughout the video, basically every time I touched the chicken. I didn't think having everyone watch me wash my hands and everything down every time would be entertaining, and we even discussed your exact comment before we posted the video. Anyway, glad that you liked it and thanks for watching our video. The chicken really is fantastic!!!

#1 - He can always sanitize the bottle after use.
#2 - Grabbing the spit without washing his hands? You do realize that they get really hot (bacteria killing hot)
You're going to kill yourself with stress and paranoia. . . . .
