I could be looking too much into it but I think the echo is supposed to feel kind of hollow. I always thought of it as like emphasising the loneliness of the feeling their describing. Like all the comfort you have is the emptiness of your own thoughts. I realise that sounds pretty dark and depressing but that’s how I’ve always thought about it.

@@Laurica-lb6nv yeah ofc but they’re saying that Jerrie really shines in this song. Like it’s a really captivating part of the song (my fav personally). It doesn’t take away from any of the members and I think it’s perfectly fine to appreciate it when one (or more in this case) of the members really owns a song :)

Do you know where it says that? She's not listed as a writer and I've been trying to find out where she said that she wrote on it but I haven't had any luck.
@@doesitmatter_YT really? When I got into the fandom all the mixers said "NLY" was written by Leigh-anne. So I never double checked.
