Omni-Man's love for Debbie is similar to how we love our pets because even though we care about them, we know it's almost certain we will outlive them in a few years and we don't value their lives as much as we value ours
In a similar vein, I'm certain most of us would send someone to the hospital if they hurt our pet. I'm not much of a fighter, but if someone hurt my dog, someone would be going to the ER. Weather be me or them
Unless your pet is a turtle or a parrot, those outlive you.

I love how we see Cecil throw EVERYTHING humanity has to stop Omni-Man, and in the end the one thing that is able to stop him is his love for his son.

This show honestly might win an award after the other seasons come out
That train scene is easily the most violent thing I've seen in an animated show.

People misunderstand how Nolan views human lives. Imagine you are tasked with removing an ant hill. You aren't going to reason with the ants or try to peacefully take the hill. You are just going to remove it, the ants be damned.
That's how Nolan thinks of humans. Why did he form relations with them, when we don't do that with other animals? Because his perspective is a lot different from us. Humans differentiate themselves from others based on sentience, cos we are the most sentient beings. For Nolan, who knows countless sentient life forms, sentience is nothing special. He differentiates them on the basis of might, because the Viltrumites are the mightiest. In that scale, human life are literally like ants to them. Hence, the casual disregard. I can't blame him.

@@Saje3D Nolan was raised by a society of jingoistic Darwinian supremacist psychopaths. It's no wonder he thinks that way. But all of that is just Viltrumite propaganda. This whole fight Nolan is trying to convince himself he still believes it, but Mark was right, he and Debbie and humanity did change Nolan. You can see moments throughout the series when the real humanity in Nolan shows through, just as there are moments when the Viltrumite in him slips past the mask.

Yup, Nolan's attitude towards humans is similar to how we view animals. In the real life parallels of this story we are the viltrumites.
But at the same time ants and humans are completely different. He can converse,reason, and reproduce with humans and has the ability to learn from them as well.

When OmniMan started to knock Marks teeth out He started to remember mark as a younger kid(right after his baby teeth started to fall out). That was not Mark's memory It was OmniMan's. He is fighting his long form indoctrination from Growing up on Viltrim.

Nolan is a teddy bear.
When omniman is telling Mark he could try again and have another kid he was trying to convince himself. Despite everything he tried to say living on Earth did change him. He couldn’t fulfill his mission, he couldn’t do what he knew Viltrum would want and kill his son.
I haven’t read the comics, I don’t know what’s coming next but I can’t wait to see
I did some research, and I won't spoil, but Ima just say, the subway scene isn't even the most violent thing in the series. 👀

Jk Simmons is maybe one of the most incredible voice actors I’ve ever heard his performance in this episode was amazing and really conveyed the story and who Omni man truly is

seeing as Mark Hamil is already in this series it's already top tier.
I now can't see any image of Omni-Man without hearing Simmons' voice.
Its even more emotional when you re watch the series and realize every single time He talked to mark about the life and sacrifice and the responsibilities he now has he wasn't just talking to mark, he was convincing him self of what he needed to do.
"I'll still have you dad." I cried as a grown man at this. It reminds me of that scene in Saving Private Ryan where Vin Diseal's character is begging his comrades to deliver a letter to his dad. It's that father-son bond and thinking about how much I love my dad that will always break me.

@@TAKTAK_Toys Oh yeah 😎 I know I read the comics too, and I was so pleasantly surprised how well the makers of the show mirrored the story. It has been so difficult not to spoil it for my friends that are fans purely from the show. But I know, that was an appetizer I can't wait for the main course.

Cecil is the kind of guy you will always need, because he understands the terrible weight of responsibility that comes with trying to save the world. Not to mention the strength needed to make the hard calls, when they need to be made. There will always be a need for that kind of strength, especially from the ones in charge.

The battle between Invincible and Omni-Man was a savage as Superman vs. Doomsday.
Well it wasn’t even really a battle, It was just Omni-man beating the dogshit out of Mark along with A LOOOT of collateral damage.

This is far more savage than Superman vs Doomsday. Doomsday was some random monster whose purpose was to kill and destroy, this is literally a father nearly beating his son to death
One of the reason I love this show is that they show the casualties of the fight. Its hard being a hero.
That fight scene was gruesome Omni Man vs Mark goodness me that train scene damn, can't wait for season 2
I think the thing Debbie said to Nolan in the baseball flashback really explains why he is as he is, he had become to old to feel empathy or happiness and was able to hide that, but internally was experiencing those emotions without realizing it, but as soon as marks powers showed up, the thousands of years of upbringing by the viltrumites Begins to interfere with what could be described as something he only has been experiencing for a month (in viltrumite life time)
Omni-Man is such a good villain, because he tries to justify his actions, but deep down he knows he's wrong. He feels conflicted, because he's developed feelings for his wife, his family, and the people of Earth. That's why Nolan is such an interesting villain! I think the reason he killed the Guardians wasn't just so that the planet would be defenseless but also so that he would be less attached to the people who inhabit this planet. Cecil even says that he was friends with The Guardians of The Globe, and I think that's why they were his first victims. That final scene of him crying as he flies away will always break my heart. I love this show, and I'm so glad you watched it! Much love

This is one of my top favorite cartoons now and I also loved the final episode. I cried during the flashback scene and after Nolan lifts young Mark with his missing teeth to see him now almost dad

If you weren't born as human I'd assume. An underrated contrast to Omni-Man's view on human life shown in the few episodes he appeared in was the Immortal. He's been around so long that he started as a caveman, yet he clearly doesn't view humanity as pets or insects, best shown by his admirable but futile attempt to avenge the other Guardians. Though if he wasn't born on Earth and as a human, who knows?
I haven't read the comics but I've done some research I'm already looking forward to the new characters next season.

The reason people don't put two and two together when it comes to secret identities is all because of psychology. That's why no one suspects Clark Kent to be Superman. Atom Eve even explains it in episode 2. "If you don't expect to see a super hero at your school then you don't see one."
It's a real psychology trick. Hell even some famous celebrities irl don't get noticed as famous people sometimes just because of that same kind of psychology. It's very fascinating

In fairness, when there are so many superheroes you're only going to be thinking about the big ones. Atom Eve is in Teen Team, everyone's 4th favorite superhero team, so she's not on the same level of celebrity as the Guardians of the Globe.
I mean, at the end William didn't even know which one she was by name, so that probably says that most people wouldn't be looking for her in casual settings, if they had even seen a close-up shot of her face in costume at all.
