Why YOU Should Be Fishing After Work/School (BIG FISH)

I really hope this has encouraged you to make the most of the small pockets of free time you have to get outside and catch some fish! Here are some tips to make the most of a short amount of fishing time:
- Tie your rigs at least a day in advance of you going fishing. If you’re pole or float fishing, tie a rig specifically for that venue with the right strength line and at the right length. If you’re ledgering, decide in advance if you want to use a feeder or leads and tie them on ready to go. This will save you time when you get to the water and mean you can start fishing sooner.
- Prepare your bait a few days before you go. If you’re using maggots, buy them from the tackle shop the day before you go fishing, don’t waste time getting them on your way home from work or on your way to the venue as that will only eat into your limited fishing time. If you’re wanting to use bait that needs preparing such as PVA bags or bread crumb, get it sorted and boxed up before the day you go so you have more time to do the actual fishing.
- Pick a venue that is close to your house / workplace / school. This will save you travelling time and maximise the fishing time.
- Choose what type of fishing you want to do and travel light. You’re only going to have a few hours fishing time so you don’t need all your tackle. You’ll probably only want 1 rod / pole as there won’t really be enough time to swap and change methods. Decide in advance whether you want to fish the float, pole, feeder, lure, or whatever and just take the tackle for that method! That way you’ll have less stuff to pack, carry, and set-up.

Hi mate. My 14 year old son had seen you on tic tok and we went to Streethouse pond for the second time tonight. He caught a 6lb sturgeon that he thinks is the same one you caught. I agree after work and school fishing is great. We go a lot after work when it's lighter nights.
