It was this powerful moment when one man reached the soul of a kid who wanted help and needed a way out. Very sad because he proved that no matter how much he wanted to turn his life around the life he chose was his only way out.

This film is by far one of the most underrated movies of the 90s. Samuel L. Jackson and Clifton Collins Jr. definitely killed it in this film. This movie should've been better if this movie had a more polished script and a linear direction, but overall, this film is pretty damn good of how deep it went when documenting the struggles of teachers being tormented by hoodlum students in rough schools.
No wonder why Officer Tenpenny and Cesar Vialpando collaborated again for GTA San Andreas...

I think it was fine just the way it was. That's what makes it great its organic. I mean think about it is life really linear like we expect in the movies??
The raw emotion in this film is untouchable even to this day. Dangerous minds, and this film. I want to add the substitute with Tom Berenger but that's more a ramboish predictable environment

i remember when i seen this movie i really thought that it was gonna end on a lighter/happier note just like movies like freedom writers, dangerous minds & stand n deliver. boy was i wrong, dark ending, & you see samuel l jackson’s character scared tf outta these kids, after he went in on ceasar you can see his homeboys were shook straight & realized it wasnt a game no more, sadly ceasar couldnt get it thru his thick skull that he took it way too far. he kept on looking for trouble & sadly it cost him his own life & prolly scarred his homies for rest of their life.
this is by far samuel l jacksons most underrated film to date. this was what john q was to denzel washington or what hardball was to keanu reeves. this movie wouldnt be as good with the happy ending, with the way they were building it towards the end, a dark ending was what made this movie. i think if more kids in school saw this film they would re-think some the decisions that they make in life. just a little food for thought moment.

Garfield was willing to die over stupidity to try to teach those boy's a lesson he wanted to help ceaser out but he let his pride and ego get in the way. Garfield won either ways he couldn't kill him or scare him

Caesar had the balls to pull the trigger in his own ignorant game? Really? I recall only seeing him pull the trigger once after Garfield did three times back to back and only once cornered by Garfield challenging his true manhood. Then at the end in desperation to prove his "machismo " after Garfield committed suicide with the last pull. In reality Caesar wasn't "macho " or tough or hard as a man alone by himself without his gang behind him or a gun. He was insane, misguided and A1 but a cowardly thug at heart without a gun or his gang hit hid behind.
