    Had mine for a month now. Absolute beast! It took me a month to get it, was not happy about that. But wow, what a machine. Three nights in I got totally soaked for two hours heading home. Really got pummelled. Took my shoes three day to dry out. Scooter just spun like a top. No issue whatsoever. I was amazed. I have minor complaints. Screws on the fenders are all wrong. Had to replace them and use lock down. Poor design. That is all the negatives I have found so far. At about 800 Km now. It rocks!

    Great review. Thank you. A few questions: Do you find the deck space sufficient? At 3:08 you didn’t seem to be able to find space for your rear foot. Also, did you find the weight manageable? I am trying to decide between Air and City. Air is more than 20 lbs lighter at half the price and reviews say it is comfortable. How much of a difference is there in comfort and performance? Does it justify the weight and cost?

    • @eRideHero
      @eRideHero  Před 6 měsíci +4

      Thank you! And yes, there's plenty of deck space - I reckon I just had really awkward footing in that clip or did it on purpose (don't recall). The weight is on the heavy side, same goes for its competitors. I have yet to try the Air, but it looks like a solid scooter - in a different category, though. Still, I believe it is a comfortable ride, but the City Pro feels heavenly and has all the power I need personally.

    I've been very impressed with Apollo scooters. I've been using my Ghost since COVID started as a replacement for my car (on good weather days) and it's been great. This would be a nice alternative due to the super high waterproofing (which is lacking on the Ghost.) The dedicated regen brakes are a home run IMO, and I hope that Apollo includes them on all their scooters. Why? Every time you want to change your brake pads (which is the most common thing you'll do other than maybe replace tubes) it will cost you $20 in shipping plus the cost of the pads. If you have a regen paddle like this, the that expense is completely negated. The self-healing tires also means that you won't be paying for popped tubes (which sadly happens a lot more often on scooters than bicycles.)

    • @eRideHero
      @eRideHero  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Totally agree - I almost exclusively use the regen brakes in comfortable situations and use the actual drums as more of an emergency brake. I feel it slightly improves range and, as you say, greatly diminishes wear on brakes. Also, the regen is as smooth as NIU and Segway's which is a hard feat to achieve.

    • @8_x_9.
      @8_x_9. Před 5 měsíci

      The self healing sticky coating drys up in average of 6 month!!!

    I live in Utah, and I commute to work, ride the train, and live on the third floor. What would you recommend for best portability, performance, ride quality, build quality, and Customer Service. This 2023 Apollo city, pro or the Solar EQ by solar scooters?

    • @eRideHero
      @eRideHero  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I sadly haven't had the chance to test the Solar EQ yet so I can't comment on performance or ride and built quality. In terms of portability, it should be very similar to the City Pro (the regular City is a little lighter). On paper, the Solar seemingly offers more performance relative to cost, but it takes a lot to beat the ride quality of the City.
      However, it sounds like portability is quite important for you (maybe more than you think in the long run). I would definitely throw the Splach Twin Plus into the mix. It is more compact and lighter, although ride quality isn't quite what the City can offer. It'll run you a bit cheaper, too.
      Here a link to the scooter: splach.bike/products/splach-twin-a-premium-dual-motor-budget-electric-scooter?variant=40178452955191&sca_ref=3650655.vBUMxX4TzM

      @eRideHero yeah, but, some places have higher grade inclines, do you have steeper hills? It would also be good to have a sand bag between legs to simulate higher weight class people, 100kg and 150kg should be included, but maybe, if you don't want to, you could link videos from heavier riders. (For example, I am 110 kg and i carry about 40kg of gear with backpack, so 150kg total max. And i can carry a pack of 6 water bottles of 2 litters each between the legs on a BOLT ride share scooter for low cost transport, but i am looking at buying this scooter after an upgrade next year (hopefully), so more information is allways better, each case is different.)

      @@Narinjas Good shout. I will try to incorporate even more tests in the future. And sadly Denmark is one of the flattest countries in the world - hopefully I can find at least a steep stretch somewhere to run tests on.

    Do not buy from Apollo scooters unless you want to buy a lemon

    I been seeing nothing but bad reviews on reddit about apollo. Serious injuries, batteries dying, etc. Their warranty repair was sending a customer a video on how to repair it themselves. Lmfao
    Law suits about to destroy this company.

      Don’t believe the bullshit hype. The company builds a solid product and they stand behind their warranty. They’re opening new warranty centers all over the country in the US. People reporting issues with frames are riding them like maniacs and jumping over curbs, there’s always more to the story

      time will tell. It's too bad because this scooter has it all: range, self healing tires of a good size, innovative and low maintenance breaking, IP66, lordy lord. I have a Kqi2 Pro but would love a softer rise and more range. otherwise its a super reliable tank.

    • @eRideHero

      @christianbeaupre7989 having tested both the KQi2 Pro and City Pro (and everything in between), it's definitely a huge step up. The KQi3 Max is also worth considering as it gives both more range and is much more zippy on hills - also bigger and more comfortable dimensions). Yet to try the new KQi 300 series, but they look promising!

      Yeah I'd love to put more miles on, but I have more than a dozen scooters to test, so to get around to everything as a one-man show I have to spread out the miles across models ;-) - Wish there was 48 hours in a day, though.

    • @lancehobbs8012
      @lancehobbs8012 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @stevejiji4030 rode it a few times, accelerator STUCK on full throttle had 2 near accidents with cars.
      Then one day it wouldn't turn off , and died. They screwed me around for 1 year untill the warranty ran out. They said I had to ship it from Perth to Sydney and said I had to build a special fibreglass box...SO I DID. Then they said I had to use a certain company to ship it, and they knew damn well that company wouldn't take it. Then they said ok take it to a guy on perth to fix. It worked a bit for 1 hour then died again. Then they said no warranty because I'm in Australia (??!) and said" we consider the matter closed"
      Our consumer affairs are useless and did nothing

      @@lancehobbs8012 If they "screwed you" around for a year then you didn't buy the City 2023, you bought the City 2022 which sadly was riddled with problems.
