- An episode of the classic 70s TV series starring Nicholas Hammond. I've edited this episode together from various VHS sources, recreating the rarer individual episode as originally screened on TV rather than the double episode along with Escort to Danger that was made for home video. I've included the opening teaser, and original stand alone titles and credits. I've also tried to improve the colour balance while I was at. Just a little fan project to see what I could do, inspired by the projects of The Amazing Spider-Man (TV Series) CZcams channel. Hope you enjoy.

Nicolas Hammond did a very good job for 2 different personalities and different movement as Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

By the time I saw this show, they put this as a double feature with an episode called escort to danger. Thank you for putting this in the way that it originally aired. I always want to see it and it’s original form.
Know this isn’t really like the comics, but Nicholas Hammond‘s performance as Peter Parker was pretty spot on. Not so much is Spider-Man, but the Peter Parker have he nailed.
This episode along with another one called curse of Rava is the closest we ever got to the comics in all honesty. This is the only time it ever really went science-fiction was those two episodes.
Incidentally, those two episodes are the most beloved from the short-lived series.

A Great performance from Nicholas Hammond as the original Spiderman and Peter Parker from the Late 1970s ❤Great Childhood memories growing up watching this born back in 1973 and this was long before Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland were born to play this iconic character 😀
I was born in 1974, so I understand how you feel. This was my childhood Spider-Man as well. And the other guys name, they were born to play this character as well. Their Spider-Man was much better, but they also have better technology to do it. Nicholas Hammond was limited by the technology of his era, but he definitely nailed Peter Parker.
On a sidenote, I know they could not do some of his major foals, but they definitely could’ve done his more mortal foes. Guys like the enforcers, the kingpin Wilson Fisk, Mysterio, the shocker, or Kraven, the hunter. Even guys like the molten man Were possible. All you need is just put some gold paint all over room and there you go because basically he was just a superhuman by accident.
Yeah, his major foes like Dr. octopus or the green goblin might’ve been impossible in the 1970s but definitely the ones I named were definitely possible.

Yeah, it didn’t deviate totally from the comic books. If you know your Spider-Man history, you can find little stuff they did take from the comic books. That might’ve been Stan Lee’s influence.
Fabulous quality on this, thanks for fixing it up, thanks for posting! It is because of fans like you that fans like me can continue to enjoy this amazing show! This episode in particular was the easiest for me to fit into comic continuity. Surely, my 7-year-old self thought, Professor Moon is Professor Miles Warren! I think because so much of it is shot at night, this episode feels the most New Yorky of all of them.

Yes. His Spider-Man was limited by the technology of his era, though from what I understand, the guy that doubled for him actually want to do more risky stunts that was more Spider-Man like! Had this series had gone past season two, he may have gotten his wish.
Nicholas Hammond definitely nailed Peter Parker though. He’s the main reason to even give this series a chance. Also, I feel the performances of the late Michael Pataki as captain, Barbera, and Chip fields as Rita Conway are very underrated.

Who would you’ve like to see. Green Goblin,vDoctor Octopus, Rhino, Sand-Man or Tombstone? I don’t think they had the budget back then. For Super Villains of that type? But it’s still a good effort on their behalf.
I'd say Tombstone and Kingpin could work in the incarnation given they're street crime related. I have to do is add grey makeup to Tombstone and you're sold. Also Norman Osborn doesn't need to be the Green Goblin to to be psychotic and vicious. Kraven the Hunter might also work if there's an episode of that would take place in a jungle, if Peter was to travel to Africa for a story or something.
Wished Spidey battled his comic book villians in this series instead of terrorists and evil scientists!!!
I’m sure they would IF this series was longer than it was. It was a short tv series and yet it was still good as it was. A pop icon tv series.
This episode was directed by Fernando Lamas...I remember him talking about the episode on the Tonight Show.

Since when did Peter Parker have an Uncle called Max? I really wish this show stuck to the original comic book 📕 format and included Uncle Ben in the pilot episode as well as Flash Thompson,Betty Brant,Police Captain Stacy,Gwen Stacy,Mary Jane,Norman Osborn and Harry Osborn. That would’ve been great.
They had such a small budget they couldn't even pay for the character rights 😂

I agree that Nicholas Hammond was a great Peter Parker for his time. Yet it would of been cool if other characters from Peter’s circle ⭕️ of friends were around for him to interact with. That probably would’ve made the show more interesting.@@LizzieEvie77

My opinion, I think using the name Uncle Ben would have cost the production a little bit more money to use an other character from the comics
