  • The Fiesta ST has a unique problem with rear motor mounts. The problem is the mount is very close to the downpipe. Well that area gets very hot and polyurethane does not do well with extreme heat. The heat softens the polyurethane making it more susceptible to stretching or tearing. This is more likely to occur with the softer polyurethane engine mounts which are more popular because they do improve shift feel, but also don't add too much vibration. Luckily you have two choices available for upgraded rear motor mounts that are not polyurethane. This includes CPE, and vibra technics which is what I installed. Vibra technics also comes in two versions fast roads, and competition. I installed the fast roads version which is the softer of the mounts.

Cobb still has some wheelhop, but it's better than the original.

I also had one like the collins mount, but when i accelerated and deccelerated it alway made a bit of noise, so i put the stock one back in and in terms of drivability it didnt change , even if my fiesta has 240bhp.

Thanks for sharing your experience. How have you enjoyed the rubber style RMM over the last few months. Any updates? Do you regret not trying the stiffer competition version?

Everything has been fine. I do not regret. As I know a harder RMM would Increase vibration significantly.

@@autohelixexcellent. I ended up going with cp-e's RMM. After researching cp-e a little more, I'm willing to pay their significant premium for ALL of my fiesta upgrades--intercooler and exhaust next-- to support their R&D

Only poor quality poly bushes will be affected by the heat. Made my own and no problem at all for 3 years and i track the car. Shore hardness should not have influence on heat resistance.

@@EdderzX1 yeah mix and poor. 3d printed the molds. 85a shore hardness i believe.

@@EdderzX1 i have some nvh when idling but also did the upper motor and gearbox mount with the powerflex inserts. It's not that bad. 75a should be perfect for street use.

I had my slave go out, costed a pretty penny replacing everything flywheel clutch etc. hasn’t been driving right since I got it back just looked under again and see something all over where the mount was about 2 months later which it wasn’t there right after I’m wondering if my whoosh mount caused other damage beside the slave also now smh any ideas?
