I looked this game up on the database it is Philadelphia Open 1986, not '87 just in case you were trying to locate this. Komodo 11 gives black -1.66 for Ng8 rather than Ne8, after about 3 mins thinking.

Good video, great historical value too. Two experts here. I think Dr Mestel was the British Chess Champion at the time in 1988 ?
In August 1988 at Blackpool, Dr Mestel won his third British Championship. Not sure when this TV show was filmed.
Mestel is a bridge champion, too.
