Willing to pay American Labor prices for cool looking bikes like this personally. But i would understand anyone picking another for more bang per buck.
Absolutely love the fact that buell lets you be in full control of their machine. There are too many bikes now where you actually can't turn off all the nannies because the manufacturer doesn't trust you, with bikes like the r1 the ecm literally has to be FLASHED to remove the aids. I realize the computers are faster but there is something beautiful about trying to tame an absolute monster.
Honestly there aren’t too many new bikes I’d actually spend my money on. But I’d buy the shit out of that. Just started going back to school at 32 so I don’t have the cash on hand now but in a couple years I’ll have one of these or a naked version in my garage
I’ve had my Hammerhead since late ‘22 and have loved every minute with it, and I do feel pride riding down the road with a U.S. flag on the side. I also look forward to ordering one of the SuperCruisers when they become available. One crucial piece of advice I have for prospective buyers is to make sure you have a reliable service center nearby before committing to buying. I live in a major U.S. city and took for granted the fact that the factory would have someone well qualified to handle warranty and service work in my area. This turned out not to be the case for my city. I missed out on riding for all but a few weeks of the 2023 riding season because the local service center had trouble performing a factory recall and couldn’t get it fixed right for me. Eventually Buell hauled it back to the factory in Michigan to fix it on their own dime and shipped it back to me in pristine working order. Now, though, if I need any major work done, I’ll have to risk trusting the local service center here, drive it to another state to drop it off at the service center there, or just do it myself. That’s a risk we take by supporting a great-but-small brand. Also, I wouldn’t recommend upgrading the seat on your new Buell. The red stitching and logo on mine faded to where it looks almost pink. I emailed the factory to ask if it would be covered by warranty and didn’t even receive a response. I’m planning on replacing it with the regular stock seat on my own dime.
im curious, did you have the failure? what symptoms did you have? Or did you have it preventatively taken in? I have a 2024 HH and had the same symptoms as the recall on a non recalled model year. I contacted my dealer, they contacted Buell, and buell had a truck in my driveway 2 days later in NY to pick it up and bring it back to their factory in Grand Rapids. 6 days later, it was dropped back off in my driveway with a brand new engine and gearbox. (on their dime) FWIW to anybody reading this...... their customer service has been nothing less than stellar!!! They couldn't have done anything better to handle my issues. Big big respect to their team working behind the scenes. Jason Anderson, the director of operations and quality reached out directly to me and kept me in the loop every step of the way even sending me photos of the bike being worked on back at the factory.
@@TheAristeros I didn’t have any symptoms at all, it ran fine when I dropped it off. When I got it back, the clutch had been reassembled wrong and the local shop couldn’t figure out what the problem was. It ended up sitting in the shop there for months while the factory worked with them to get it figured out. Finally I just went and picked it up. I went direct with the factory, and eventually the truck showed up to grab it just in time for winter. I’m a long ways from the factory, so it took a while to get it there and back. It was in pristine condition when I got it back though. Again, I’m very grateful for their help and love the bike to death, but am not so sure about the local service center.
Buell is not a machine it’s alive. I own a buell and I hunted for it for the story and the engineering of it. I hunted down a low mile anniversary xb12R for collecting purposes. I didn’t expect much out of it based off numbers but let me tell you paper- real life ratio is way off. I’m a very good rider and it’s capable of pleasing all my needs. Love it’s raw feel and style
I would say the online buying thing is a huge con, for me personally. I have to see it in person, etc. I watched hours and hours of videos, went to multiple dealerships trying to narrow down what bike I wanted this go around for not being on one in 4-5 years. And my first sport bike at that. The example for me is take the gsx8r and the Daytona, while they are “comparable”. the riding position is vastly different to me. No way I could have made my choice strictly online. It would have gotten sent back when I got it lol
there's a store in Arizona and Pennsylvania that can offer that in person buying process. But Buell is working really hard to open more and more areas. I suggested them to do traveling test ride events, but we'll see 😅
i absolutely love my 99x1 lightning. if I could make my bike less vibey i think that would be the only thing I'd change but that being said, it is part of its character for sure. those hammerheads are so beautiful!

Glad to see them back. This bike seems killer but I’m getting too old for a bike like this yet I’m not old enough for a Harley. Hope they bring back the blast.
Damn, that screen looks dollar store cheap for a 20k bike… and Japanese sport bikes are precision and nothing wrong with that, kinda reminds me of old RC51 Honda made… Saw one of these at Americade by Kaplan Cycles and they are very nice and looks well build… and sound pretty amazing the way they set it up..
OC: The looks of the Hammerhead are amazing. There's no way it couldn't draw attention from all around it. That said of all the cons Chase mentioned the heat con would keep me from getting one. One summer on a Panigale 959 was enough to have me never buy another bike that's the equivalent of riding on a oven, where you're the Wicked Witch of the West and you're absolutely melting.
Had a 1125CR - total fun and no quit, just sad gas mileage - 25mph av. - my friend has a 1190x - nice and even more no quit attitude - lol - The Hammerhead is totally Buell in root - being one of the first designs for the 1190 platform long ago but axed by HD never getting fruition till now with the release of the Buell Hammerhead. Bravo - very nice indeed, that shows that the S1 was not the only timeless design by Erik Buell.
i will say to go visit the bigger bike rallies for anyone wanting to look at a buell being they've been going to them as a vendor and have their bikes out on display to sit on and see. I just got back from Sturgis and they were setup at BHHD and had their "touring bagger" type bike there on display and honestly was shocked when I went to sit on it to see how it felt on my bad ankles and knees and will say shocked by how light it was. So I would suggest biketober fest as a possible rally that they might be at or even myrtle beach that's coming up as well. Honestly though for a true US made bike minus a few parts is well worth paying the price to me.
Love my 2004 Buell XB12R...when it runs. My 2014 VFR800 is a great bike but the Buell is on another level when it comes to handling, and as a shorter guy (5'6") the XB fits me better than the Honda.

Absolute pride! But damn….Eric has been making it hard! I have been going over the pond to get parts and support for my 1125. But this round feels different…
Maybe you can find a used EBR 1190RX, these will not be imported, they don't even have ABS which is a Requirement these days for official EU import. The EBR-era bikes were imported back in 2014 or so, there a re some for sale in Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands etc...
Both of my Harleys (Dyna and XR1200) produce insane heat in good ole middle TN (Murfreesboro) stop & go traffic. Maybe this Buell would be a little better w/ being liquid cooled.
I love this bike but I still can’t get an answer as to why I should pay modern day super sport prices for a 10 year old bike. Dealers were trying to get rid of these bikes for $10k when EBR went under and from all the reviews I’ve seen of this bike it’s the same bike except for new body work.
I hope I don't sound like a snob but I think you mean to describe the bike as feeling very analogous. As in, opposite of digital or full of electronics 😉
Now do a 1 month review of a panigale 1199. Youll realize buell is in trouble because they are competing with a bike that was better then theirs from almost a decade ago.
maintenance, reliability and comfort is where the Buell eats it all day. It makes a much better daily (for a superbike). Plus they get like 50mpg haha.

Own one, had an issue with the rear oxygen sensor and Buell has been nothing short of AMAZING. They picked the bike up, delivered to a dealer, fixed it and they shipped it right back to my door. Any text message or email was answered immediately and I received regular updates. I could not ask for more from a company. I would say with the Super Cruiser coming and people realizing the brand is back you will see more and more dealers in the near future. Something like 6500 preorders for that bike already. Let's see once they put bags on it and own Harley and Indian on the bagger circuit. 🙂

The aesthetics are nice but they need to update the dash, the headlight, and the mirrors for the price they want us to pay
Can't wait for the 2025 BUELL SUPER CRUISER
Every bike should have that onboard diagnostics feature. That is so cool!
Most do, its called OBD II (Onboard Diagnostic Version 2....).
It’s funny because in 2014 when it first came out, almost no bikes had it
