Thank you for making these videos. I subscribed to your channel because you're a great example of getting excellent results with whatever resources are available. I hope you keep going.
Nice strokes on your gun patterns. Cleaning the gun is very important and you did a great job on that. I’ve always had a regulator and gage right on the gun with disposable water trap. Another tip is to not wet sand you primer. Wet sanding primer creates a big mess and wets masking paper and water in cracks on the vehicle that may be blown into the paint job later. Good video!
Looks good man , I've done the same with ace hardware's rust stop rustoleum in regal red , about to do my car trailer in gloss black , keep the vids coming
painted my 1982 chevy s10 with rustoleum safety red,ive painted a lot of cars in my 47 years, used every product out there ,done it professionally too...and rustoleum does a damn fine job,it lays great, self etching,i used a cheap clear from ebay to spray over it,but honestly it didn't need it,it shined and was durable without it...wet sands very easy...only bad thing I can say about it is the dry time....because it does take awhile to dry..but if your in a good clean place free of bugs n dust that really isn't an issue
Great video! Nice detailed tutorial on cleaning the gun. I like that you showed the compressor set up you have too. I’m about to start working on my project civic, and this video will be watched a few more times before I begin the rust oleum paint job i have in mind for it. Thanks!
Check out this video czcams.com/video/0-lCJFvgyWo/video.html I painted my Mitsubishi with rustoleum for the second time.. shows more real time painting, and helpful tips
Thanks for your enamel paint tutorial. Just I want to know how to paint with air gun rustoleum paint. And the ratio mix ,You made it so simple. Good job
man when you were painting the back of the cab and it was shining glossy i realized that truck was meant to be black, your attention to detail is extraordinary, you were born to paint, especially the way you climb in a out of that cab,you got to be flexible to paint, i now pro's who miss the bottoms, cause they can't bend down that far, nice truck, damn nice job
I've gotten very good results from rustoleum farm 🚜 red gloss. I was shocked how good it turned out on my racecar, after that I used it on "tax time resale cars"
Man where were these videos back in the day body shops should be out of business doing the quick fix at way less the cost and basically getting the same results awesome job.
Looking really good 👍 But would be even better to welding the ugly holes in the side and rusted out spots first! It's nice you haven't any mot checks in the US
Amazing how well you lay the paint down with what you have to work with. Not sure of the plan for the cab mounts, maybe 11 gauge 3 or 4 inch mild steel tube or cut something out of a vehicle that is getting scrapped. Do you have access to a welder?
I wonder how that paint holds up to the sun and heat over time, I painted a truck box on hunting truck forest green and it lasted a long time in very cold wet conditions up in Canada..... great paint to work with.
How much for the 35 max gun plus compressor? After the money outlay it becomes too expensive for two vehicles. Then what do you do with the equlpment? Its a matter of return on investment.
Loved this video, just watched 8 of your vids in a row ! have you sprayed Rustoleum's hammer tone paint and have you thinned it with something other than what rustoleum calls for ( xylene / xylol ) ? found out i can't buy it because Colo. just outlawed it.
Amigo, what PSI are you using to spray?? And do you add any hardener to the mixture of paint and thinner.. Also, I noticed that the paint is oil base, no issues with that?? Thx!!
Hi. Question, did you use any reducer or hardner in you're rustolium paint when you painted that 65-66 Chevy truck flat black, which you did a really good job. Also how did it turn out for long gevity? Reason I asked, I'm getting ready to paint my fiberglass boat. Thanks friend.
Flat paint lays pretty well and doesn't need to be sanded. So it's a spray and done type. Only gloss paints can be polished. If you are going to add clearcoat, I would spray it same day, unless you got bugs or imperfections.. I would let the flat paint dry before wet sanding with 400 or 600 then adding the clear.
Nice work on the truck I've been seeing a lot of your videos can you please tell me what kind of gun you are using if you can the model number and is the ratio mixing the same for the red primer of Rustoleum which I believe you said 12 oz paint and 6 acetone thank you keep up the great job I'm planning to do this myself
What's with the narrow pattern on the gun? In the video it looks like you're only getting at most a 5-6" pattern and your overlaps are about 3" apart or less. Does that gun not open up more or are you keeping the pattern down for a reason? Either way, I'm very impressed that you're not getting any tiger striping with that narrow a pattern, you've really got your spraying down. Flat black isn't as easy as some people think it is. That said, most people that are looking for that flat, rat rod look really don't want flat, but something more like semi-gloss. Most of the custom paints for this look like HotRod Flatz are actually semigloss. A true flat looks like primer a few days after you put it down and gets chalky and doesn't look right and doesn't protect the body from rust after a few weeks. I'm wondering if you'll like this in a few weeks, of course, I've mentioned this before in comments on your videos, because of your dry environment you get away with things that 99% of the rest of us couldn't do. I did the hood on one of my cars semi-gloss Rustoleum and after a couple of years I think it's too flat and have been thinking of scuffing it and re-spraying it, maybe mixing in a splash of gloss in the semi-gloss to keep it looking good longer.
All that noise I hear from other you tube channels about needing min. 60 gal compressor , fancy guns spray booths , bla bla bla -- this channel is all you need , just watch carefully and learn by imitation
I enjoyed the video. You should have fixed a few small dents. You are already doing so much work. No matter how good you are at painting it won’t look as good of the prep is not perfect. Unless you are going for a Rat Rod look. Maybe you are? Very good job of explaining what you are doing.
It would be a good idea to paint the inside of the truck to like the floor boards back window area and everywhere else. What would it hurt? Who ya gonna hurt?
I mix it on a 2:1 ratio. So for a paint cup (assuming your spray gun has a 20 oz. cup), I would mix 12 oz. of rustoleum to 6 oz. acetone. Every 6 oz. makes 1 part.. at least in this case.
Where can I get a gun like that 18 oz and you covered the whole truck my god that gun knows how to scrounge on paint with a gun like that I can paint my whole house with a quart of rustoleum my wife would love that
Thank you for making these videos. I subscribed to your channel because you're a great example of getting excellent results with whatever resources are available. I hope you keep going.
Very impressive young man, your tutorial was excellent!!!
Excellent beginning to end video and instructions, best of all like most of us u did it in a shop wearing a t shirt. Good work.
Great video about painting with Rustoleum. The video is very mellow and even if you weren't interested in the subject matter, it would chill you out!
Nice job. Great job on the video too. You simplified the painting process too. I appreciate it
Thank you for your feedback, Papa Steve! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great video. The tutorial on the paint gun was excellent!!

Looks good man , I've done the same with ace hardware's rust stop rustoleum in regal red , about to do my car trailer in gloss black , keep the vids coming
Excellent work and video tutorial
i love how you work with rustoleum and still get good results id love to see you do some lacework with it just to see how it comes out
painted my 1982 chevy s10 with rustoleum safety red,ive painted a lot of cars in my 47 years, used every product out there ,done it professionally too...and rustoleum does a damn fine job,it lays great, self etching,i used a cheap clear from ebay to spray over it,but honestly it didn't need it,it shined and was durable without it...wet sands very easy...only bad thing I can say about it is the dry time....because it does take awhile to dry..but if your in a good clean place free of bugs n dust that really isn't an issue
Luke Short use valspar hardener to reduce the time of drying, when you use it takes the same time of regular auto pain to cure and dry
@@jesusnunez8911 yeah I was suprized he didn't use hardener...

Thanks for your enamel paint tutorial. Just I want to know how to paint with air gun rustoleum paint. And the ratio mix ,You made it so simple. Good job
Great work! Love the music...goes well with your work.

Thank You! 🙏😎
Planning to paint my c10 not sure wat color yet, but I am forsures painting the little Honda with this type of paint,
I've gotten very good results from rustoleum farm 🚜 red gloss. I was shocked how good it turned out on my racecar, after that I used it on "tax time resale cars"
Does a nice job! Rustoleum paintjob is by far the cheapest investment that makes the biggest change. 👌
Good Video, hope you take care of the Rust.
Looks great
Tremendo vídeo mano te felicito ✌️😀 siempre me gustan tus videos. Luego de eso le tiraras un clearcoat.
Cuanto tiempo hay que esperar para el clear?
Looks good. I will be doing a c30 soon

Te aventaste!! Nice work buddy
I wiĺ be doing the same but it will be on my truck frame
Thank you for sharing sir
Right on my brother looks good
Looks great. They don't have to all be show quality to be fun.
Will you be painting the interior under dash and floors etc?
Good job 👍
Rust oleum works great , oil based and has rust inhibitor. Perfect for bare metal sealer.
Does that Rustoleum paint hold up under long exposure to sunlight? Does it fade or flake off? I love the flat black look, you did a very nice job.
No reparas lo podrido ? No reparas los golpes en la lata ?
nice job bro. what are you going to do with the pitting from the rust?
How much for the 35 max gun plus compressor? After the money outlay it becomes too expensive for two vehicles. Then what do you do with the equlpment? Its a matter of return on investment.
How is that primer working for you compared to regular 2k primer?
With a gloss black do you recommend wet sanding after ?
i painted my truck black hate flat paint looks dry all the time.i put linseed on it looks alot better now.. never black agin
Loved this video, just watched 8 of your vids in a row ! have you sprayed Rustoleum's hammer tone paint and have you thinned it with something other than what rustoleum calls for ( xylene / xylol ) ? found out i can't buy it because Colo. just outlawed it.
Looks good but have a question? Did you primer the truck before painting, or is it not required with Rustsoleum ?
Looks Good - What color are you going to paint dash & inside?
Why do you use acetone instead of paint thinner?
Looks good
Thank you 😎👍
What do you use to clean the paint gun? Awesome video!
A very talented, smart guy. I’d hire him in a nanno second.
Pimp my ride ain't got nothing on you bro! That truck is going to be smoooth!
I'm the shop on the side.. "pimp my rust" 😄
Came out great...
Thanks 👌
How many days you have to wait to spray over that rustoleum black. ?
How does the Rustoleum Flat hold up in the elements, after like a year?
Amigo, what PSI are you using to spray?? And do you add any hardener to the mixture of paint and thinner.. Also, I noticed that the paint is oil base, no issues with that?? Thx!!
how is it holding up , hows the paint looking?
Do you have to wet or dry sand the primer
Ever messed with duplicolor paint?
The paint turned out real nice. Looks flat and even.
Great video mate how much hardener would I use with this rustoleum, as I'm in England UK so takes longer to harden and dry
I would say 2-3oz per cup.. that's 12oz paint, 6oz acetone and 2oz hardener
💯💯
fix that crater on the top lol
What grit do you use to sand primer ?
Maybee i missed something but why have you painted it while its full of rust holes?
Are you going to fix all that rested out hole damage, or leaving it
You didnt cover the open motor from over spray
Holy shit! It's like a gun in a movie that never runs out of ammunition. Ha ha
If you're not going to fix the rust holes and remove all the dents, what's the point ?
What grit did you sand primer?
No hardner? Clear coat?
Hi. Question, did you use any reducer or hardner in you're rustolium paint when you painted that 65-66 Chevy truck flat black, which you did a really good job. Also how did it turn out for long gevity? Reason I asked, I'm getting ready to paint my fiberglass boat. Thanks friend.
Many thanks! No, I haven't used hardener with rustoleum, but I do reduce it with acetone 2:1
Debbie you can use hardener with rustoleum if you choose to.
can you get orange peel from flat paint and if so do you do same procedure to remove the peel as you did in your other video (2000 grit and compound)?
Dammit man u sure know how to spray rustoleum
you should always put the fluid tip first.
Nicely done.
What gun is that?
He says in the video
But I didn’t like watching him use it. Too little paint output imho
What's with the narrow pattern on the gun? In the video it looks like you're only getting at most a 5-6" pattern and your overlaps are about 3" apart or less. Does that gun not open up more or are you keeping the pattern down for a reason?

Young homie ,you got to be from Texas cause that gold grill and the them mesquites in tha back ground
Should make a short video on how to clean a gun after use. Maybe next time you use it, record the cleaning process.
😎👍 will do!
I give a 4 .Can you do color that has a Copper bronze that I’m thinking of painting my car. Thxs. Keep up the good work 😊
All that noise I hear from other you tube channels about needing min. 60 gal compressor , fancy guns spray booths , bla bla bla -- this channel is all you need , just watch carefully and learn by imitation
I'm pretty sure you already know this but that cup has the ratios on the side you find which ratios is yours and then use it
I enjoyed the video. You should have fixed a few small dents. You are already doing so much work. No matter how good you are at painting it won’t look as good of the prep is not perfect. Unless you are going for a Rat Rod look. Maybe you are? Very good job of explaining what you are doing.
👍
I love how this guy don't give a fuck about body work. Nice job man!
over the years I have painted 5 vehicles with rustoleum and they all worked out fine.
It would be a good idea to paint the inside of the truck to like the floor boards back window area and everywhere else. What would it hurt? Who ya gonna hurt?
What’s the mix ratio for rust oleum on paint cup
I mix it on a 2:1 ratio. So for a paint cup (assuming your spray gun has a 20 oz. cup), I would mix 12 oz. of rustoleum to 6 oz. acetone. Every 6 oz. makes 1 part.. at least in this case.
Wait i saw 3 or 4 small dings on your roof in front .??
Why not fill in all the dents?
Good tutorial in general . I don't see you fixing dents on the boby of Chevy ...
Where can I get a gun like that 18 oz and you covered the whole truck my god that gun knows how to scrounge on paint with a gun like that I can paint my whole house with a quart of
rustoleum my wife would love that
