    Personally I love Omega alarms for a long time. Yesterday I just installed Omega Car Electronics AL20753DBL Excalibur with 9V backup battery in my car, just direct power, without ACC connection, with antenna, siren and shock sensor, just pre-testing still things to do.And this evening I found your greatest videos, watched them all by the way and subscribed.Thank you very much!

    My 03 ram had the excalibur system in it when I bought it, the truck was used with 50,000 miles on it but anyways the excalibur has been a great system for the 10ish years I've own the truck and I'm ordering the newest excalibur for my new truck as well, since I know how to use it and my other truck has it I am comfortable with the system, I might get the linkr also just to have the extra little GPS features and remote functions on my phone for those times when the wife has the truck haha :) good videos ❤️

    Question, I need to know which wire to connect the yellow wire to. Do you tap it into the brown siren wire on the harness that conects directly into the rear of the excaliber unit?

    Lets say I'm in California and my car is in front of my house in New Jersey will all the options work and will the GPS tell me where the car is? Will the GPS find my car if it is stolen? Everyone That makes videos on this Mycar product is not clear on this and does not at least show if they are far away from their vehicle and show weather it works or not. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi Does the MyCar app only work in the USA with a local Sim card. Would it work in Australia with An Aus sim card?

    Now when you kicked the tires and it started chirping, is that a default feature of the excalibur system? Then when you really kicked it and the alarm started going, was that ONLY from the excalibur system? Or did you also have a factory alarm system? I'm assuming if no factory system, the excalibur system is able to control the honking and lights during the alarm sequence?
    Lets say the alarm is armed, and someone picked the lock of the door manually, do you think that would set it off?
    Thanks.

    Question. Professional thieves know how to disarm an alarm and locate the gps and simply disconnect the harness or cut the wires. Will your Linkr GPS still give you a location on the phone app when it's disconnected? You put the LinkR in a very accessible and obvious place. Sometimes going the cheaper route will cost you more in the long run.

    • @o3djeeps
      @o3djeeps  Před 6 lety +2

      Aj Fisher if a professional thief wants it bad enough....they'll take it regardless. But to answer your question, the linkr has its own battery...so yes it will keep transmitting the location until the battery dies.

    Quick question. Did you ever have any issue with the remote start not bypassing the SKIM?

  • @coreywangler
    @coreywangler Před 3 lety

    Is there any special programming that has to be done on the alarm? I have the same alarm system that was installed by a local radio shop. A family member bought me the Linkr for my birthday, but when I installed it in my car (in the black data port just like you) it only shows GPS functionality. The actual lock/unlock and remote start buttons don't work when I press them on the App. My Alarm is running a newer firmware version than the one you had in the video (according to the quick reference card). Any thoughts?

    +o3djeeps would you be able to do a tutorial on how to use valet mode? I was set on getting a Viper system but their customer service is sub par and it’s expensive and after watching your install vids I’ve 100% changed and will be getting an Omega system. Thanks for being so thorough with the install and detailed in the features!

    I cannot get notifications on my phone.
    I originally had the yellow wire from LinkR splice in the siren wire (brown) and now I have it splice in the lights wire (white)
    Still no notifications…what should I do now? Thanks

    Great vid. I just put a linkr-lt2 and fortin alarm into a wrangler and it's useless. App.sees truck but not a single command works. It even sees that it's running. Locks and start won't work. Any thoughts. I've tried linkr lt app and same app you used. Neither have worked.

    • @gsav6995
      @gsav6995 Před 5 lety

      @Hai Tran yes. I spoke with the people at Omega and they suggested there are issues between their product and fortin products despite what online sellers may be telling consumers. I returned the fortin unit and picked up a similar unit that uses the ADS protocol which is priced very well and proven to work with the Linkr. The guys name is kicky rides who was mentioned in this video and he has awesome support thus far.

    "They" can now control your vehicle, from anywhere, for ANY reason. It would be wise to stay under "their" radar with that in your vehicle.

    I have a question, I apologize if its a dumb one, but it gave u 15 mins after u started the vehicle and then it will shut off correct? What if I put it in drive and drive away, will this acknowledge that I am driving and remove the timer or am I then limited to only a 15 min trip on my car. Thank you!

    • @o3djeeps
      @o3djeeps  Před 5 lety

      Once you turn on the key it cancels the remote start and the Jeep just runs from the key. You can't drive away without the key... Hope that helps.

      @@o3djeeps can you please, please elaborate on which wire the yellow wire has to be connected to? I tried the brown wire (17 - siren - OUTPUT (1A)) coming out of the 18 pin harness, triggered the alarm until it was off by it self (more than 30 seconds) and never got a notification... yours did in less than 10 seconds... I got the linkr mostly for that feature, I know you no longer have your overclock but will really appreciate if you give us any info (there is more people having the same problem), thank you!!!

    Worst system ever!!!
    After three years of changing the remote battery’s, every two-three months having parasitic battery drain, constantly replacing broken remotes, problems with the linker going off line, I’ve finally decided that I’ve had enough of this garbage and ripped the system completely out of my vehicle…
