The reason posting that secret sacred stuff is important is because former Mormons have said they knew nothing about the temple endowment, found it cultish in a frightening way and felt coerced to make promises to the church that they felt were inappropriate. These were faithful, lifelong young Mormon missionaries and couples preparing for their sealings. Maybe don’t keep it a secret and young Mormons won’t feel so betrayed and disappointed. THAT’S why they secretly record.

Totally flawed argument. My generation some 40+ years ago had very little instruction and there wasn't this mass fright and concern. We had to seek knowledge from study and prayer and going again and again to find meaning. We didn't go to the public and talk about the temple. It was about developing faith through personal revelation. They had Temple Preparation classes 20 years ago. Today the Church provides online information for anyone to access:
      Covenants:
"During the endowment ordinance, you will be invited to make certain covenants with God. These covenants are:
Law of Obedience, which includes striving to keep God’s commandments.
Law of Sacrifice, which means doing all we can to support the Lord’s work and repenting with a broken heart and contrite spirit.
Law of the Gospel, which is the higher law that He taught while He was on the earth.
Law of Chastity, which means that we have sexual relations only with the person to whom we are legally and lawfully wedded according to God’s law.
Law of Consecration, which means dedicating our time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed us to building up Jesus Christ’s Church on the earth."
Garments: "Adult members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who receive the endowment enter into sacred promises, known as covenants, to follow the highest standards of moral integrity and dedication to God. As part of entering into these covenants in the temple, members receive a simple undergarment-often referred to as the “temple garment” or “garment of the Holy Priesthood.” Unlike other ceremonial clothing used during the endowment, the garment is worn underneath members’ normal clothing for the rest of their lives, serving as a daily physical reminder of their covenant relationship with God."

There are lots of things that people consider weird in religions they’re not a part of. Even as a member for 40+ years I can see how the temple could be viewed as weird. It’s not an attack on the members though. It may feel unjust and offensive, but it has nothing to do with you personally and choosing to take offence helps the adversary dig into your heart and harden it slowly. In the words of Martin Niemöller (German pastor during WWII):

When Peter explained to a large crowd about Jesus Christ and how they had helped condemn Him, these men were pricked in their hearts and asked what to do. The answer was repent, be baptized and join them. Note they were baptized first and then the law of consecration was mentioned after that. How many of these Jews had problems accepting Gentile members when that policy change was made, women being told to keep silent in church? To answer your question--The temple is a rite that follows Lucifer. It comes from Freemasonry, where the 33d degree and above worship him.. In the temple ceremony Lucifer tells the patrons to put on the apron, the "symbol of my power and priesthoods". He also threatens that if they don't follow all his instructions that they will be in his power.
Freemasonry goes all the way back to the ancient mystery religions. Here is a brief overview. Egyptians, Babylonians, Kinights Templars, Jesuits, Freemasonry. Solomon in his temple was a sorcerer. There was nothing Christian about it. Mormonism is actually Luciferian, with an overlay of Christianity. That is what is so sinister about it. There are no "secrets" in the temple. Everything that occurs within the temple can be found in the scriptures. The idea has been that faithful members of the church would hold the things which they receive and learn there as "sacred". If a person holds something as sacred they would not wish to spread it randomly before people who do not understand, opening it up to ridicule. Since Cain killed Abel, God's teachings and his people have been mocked and persecuted. Every person has the right to choose for themselves, and if someone wishes to deny the truth, that is their right and privilege, and they will reap their reward. Those who do believe have a right to the same privilege and are comfortable in the knowledge that all will be right in the end.

@SR-zm2rp umm -- kinda disingenious ... there are many things to be found in the scriptures that are NOT (and SHOULD NOT be) done -- anywhere. And if they were done, you'd better believe that it would need to be kept a secret. The fact that some of those things ARE being done in the temple is probably better to be kept " ... unpublished ..." (yeah -- sorta kinda like kept secret ...)

@@sagesaith6354 That statement demonstrates a profound misunderstanding of the Bible (not to mention what is done in the temple). The Bible isn't a list of things to do and not do, but a narrative and allegory that provides examples of how to live. Obviously there are things portrayed in the Bible which should not be done. It's ridiculous to think that it would not have examples of that.

@@misssue1824 Right? I say Jesus was an enlightened man who was trying to teach people to forgive more, share what they have, and accept hurt in life, etc. because God is within. Others say Jesus was God incarnated in humanity to help people. Others say Jesus was telling people they must believe or they're damned.

Get over yourself and become a Javacrucian. Other people's opinions of your private religious beliefs are irrelevant. Tend your own Garden, said Rousseau.

@@ReneeJoan If you attend large gatherings of your faith, are there protesters with signs there?
There are groups that come to Temple Square in Salt Lake City every six months to protest General Conference. Makes it kind of hard to "tend my garden." Please take your Rousseau quote where it is needed.

@@misssue1824 My reference to Rousseau was intended to DEFEND your LDS beliefs, not to disparage them. You have the right to worship whomsoever, or whatever you think is an appropriate expression of the Divine. For some, it's Yahweh. For some, it's Allah. For some, it's Shiva. For some, it's their ancestors. For some, it's the nature gods. One of God's attributes is that He is "unknowable" with our human minds. When Moses demanded to know God's "name"/identity, the only thing God would tell him was, "I am who I am." Who is that? Remember that parable told by Ghandi, about the six blind men examining an elephant? Some interpret the Divine as a single, Creator Being. Some interpret the Divine as a Trinity. Some interpret the Divine as a "Family." Some interpret the Divine as a "Dream of Brahma." As Pope Francis said, "Who am I to judge?" I certainly don't have the Secret Decoder Ring. If your Mormon beliefs lead you to lead a life of ethics, integrity, honor, and compassion toward others, then I certainly respect your beliefs, even if I have a different set of practices and beliefs as a Catholic. I will tell you one thing -- one of the finest Christian women I know is my sister-in-law, and she is Mormon. And her family, counting four generations now, is completely consistent with that assessment. I am humbled by her -- I think she is a far better Christian than I am, and there isn't anyone in our clan (a mixed bag of Evangelicals, Catholics, Jews, and "whatevers") who would disagree with me.

It’s because the Church was founded in America. Unfortunately it’s seen as trendy and okay to trash the USA… but foreign and native culture and religion are off limits.
