Doesn't mean the games are disappearing, just that it's not constantly updated with new things. Not overly concerned.
That’s fair - my only gripe is that sometimes bugs or errors come up at random times, some bugs have never left (I.e. Halo 4’s campaign issues) and support is needed at least just to tackle little issues

The card definitely looks sketchy and AI generated, but even so hopefully MCC does get some more life out of it. It'd be interesting to see them port Halo 5 to MCC as well, if they do then hopefully they'll uncap the armour customisation and replace the REQ cards with MCC's progression system. Not to mention the modding opportunities would be amazing as well.
So long as the servers survive, i have faith in the community and its modders to keep the platform alive.

It wouldn't surprise me. Considering they had to move most devs to Infinite to get content rolling there and the layoffs they had, 343 probably doesn't have enough employees left to continue on MCC now.
Which is a shame. There is still much that can be added, and there is still much that 343 said they were going to implement but never got around to it. 64 player lobbies, pre - and post game lobbies, more social features, CEA and H2A mod tools, and much more. A Reach style credit system that replaces the battlepass system, more maps, and new map rotation would also be appreciated.
Still, it may not be the end for MCC yet. Perhaps if they hire enough employees and get infinite in a good state with a lot of content, 343 may resume adding content to MCC. More interesting, though, is that if Halo 5 ever gets a re-release, they could likely add it to MCC, necessitating some pretty major updates and new content to it.
The most interesting idea, though, and this is pure speculation, is that MS and 343 may decide to re-release the older Halo games under a new collection in the future. Being built off the MCC, but named differently and with changes and improvements to it. It wouldn't be unprecedented. Other series have had multiple collections released that have the same games in them, just released at different times for potentially new hardware. Metal Gear comes to mind recently with its Master Collection.
It may not be likely, but much like MCC itself, Microsoft may think it's a good draw for a new console. It's definitely an option that 343 has, and plenty of other game series have done it with success.
Agreed. I just hope they can pivot people onto it occasionally to help out during the dev of the new game
Honestly i think its for the better, mcc has had enough updates already and it doesn't need more since it's great now how it is and just makes me glad they are focusing more on infinite :) you absolutely deserve 1k subs btw :)

It can be so much better, though. We still don't have mod support for the custom game browser, forcing modded sessions to be held through regular custom games via discord sessions. It'd also be nice to host CGB servers 24/7 without having to physically be in the game.

Well darn. I really hope its not finished. I had hoped they would have did to Reachs Elites like what they did with Halo 3 and add the online helmets to Reach as well as give the Elites piece by piece customization. I had also hoped we would finally get options in custom games to be able to force preferred species as a lot of the time, most game modes had it locked to Spartans only.
Also a part of me had hoped either halo 3s forge or Reachs forge could have had ais added to it so people could make custom fire fight maps like we can in infinite.
I also want to see Drones added to Reachs firefight as well as the bigger Firefight maps getting the ability to spawn any vehicle not dropped by the Phantoms like what they did with odsts firefight

I don't think this is a bad thing per-se, as long as the servers don't just kill over we should be fine for a while. As for the card, it doesn't look that out of place, if it's AI generated it's a really good AI, seeing as the spartan hand isn't all clapped. Almost looks like a cosplay
I suggest that as in the video it talks about mcc's support ending so they can focus on new things, you should rename the video to "all things come to an end..." so it doesn't sound so negative. Anyways, great video, you earned a sub

Enjoyed the video. I agree with what you said about Infinite. The new PVE updates massively increase it's casual re-playability which is a win for Halo!

If it's just, "the game is done and we won't be putting out anymore updates" then honestly, I'm fine with that.
MCC has had a good run.
Just basic maintenance is all it needs, but other then that, it's time to put focus on other things, probably on their next project they announced a short while ago.
Or more devs on Infinite so we can get more and faster updates.
It’s crazy how the Halo MCC could end up with the entire franchise on it and still take up less storage than one COD game.

I would not be surprised if that is true. Also, I am totally okay with them shifting all of their focus on halo infinite and future projects. MCC is at a very good point IMO. Halo Infinite has a lot of potential, it’s already infinitely better than launch (no pun intended) so I’m excited to see it improve even more.

*(Long Comment ahead)*
This may be an unpopular opinion, but the biggest flaw MCC has that is holding it back and preventing Halo 5 from being added isn't all the things listed here (though they are still important and these things and more need to be added and fixed). It's the progression system of this game.
Tying most progression to a battlepass system where completing challenges that are only replaced weekly is a terrible way to encourage continued playing. It encourages people to just play to earn the challenges and stop when they complete their challenges. While ranking up does earn you a point, it's only one and takes a lot of time if you're already high rank.
The battlepass system is just inferior to the old Reach credit system. A system where you can earn credits to buy the armor you want without going through Battlepass teirs you dont want is just a better system. Perhaps the only requirement to some armors should be gaining certain Ranks.
Credits also don't only have to apply to armor. Thry could also be used to buy all those Nameplates 343 added and a couple of more stuff in the game, like the exchange and weapon/vehicle skins.
The system is also what's holding any potential Halo 5 port back from MCC. Since its likely they would scrap lootboxes, they need a new way to earn armor and warzone reqs. However, the current battlepass system posses issues. The current system is completely unsuited to gaining reqs as the battlepass wouldn't be able to support it well since nobody wants to spend their valuable spartan point on a low teir reqs. The amount of armor and other cosmetics Halo 5 also has also makes it pretty unwieldy to a battlepass system and would require multiple seasons to just even get all armor in the game.
A Reach style credit system would solve this issue. In fact, it's what Halo 5 itself used. They just tied the armor to the lootboxes and made you buy them to get customization. Funny enough, it still worked even with the awful middleman of lootboxes in it. I played Halo 5 extensively and earned almost all armor in the game without paying for a lootboxes because you were always guaranteed to gain a new req or armor with each gold lootbox. Not that im advocating for lootboxes to return. They should cut out the middleman and let use use credits to buy the armor and reqs directly.
Compare that to MCC, where I feel a bit less incentive to play once I complete the challenges. And especially compared to Infinite, where I have even less desire to play once I earn my weekly ultimate and I have no battlepass to work towards because I either completed it, or I am a free player.
Its quite clear they went with the battlepass on MCC to test it for Infinite, and I hope its become clear at this point that battlepass isn't the best system for Halo. While it may be better than others, it's still a downgrade from the past. I hope that if 343 ever does another re-release of these games with Halo 5 in it, (or even do the less likely option and adds Halo 5 and changes the progression system of MCC itself), that take my advice and scrap the battlepass system and move back to credits.
is it abandonment if the game is basically finished? They abandoned it after launch and came back to resurrect it. i think its time for that team to move into the next game
I think it’s abandonment only at the point where there is work to be done but the engineering team is told exclusively not to do anything by leadership

Even if halo mcc goes out of service if theres enough drive the community will find a way, might even be able to do a 3rd party server that runs halo mcc.

All they can do is make it harder until someone figured out how to counter the counter
@@ghostlyswat12 yeah but eventually if there is not enough people willing to find a new way to make cheats work specially in a game with a dying population the devs can make a lasting maybe even the final counter that no one even bothers to figure out a counter for. So they should just keep making it harder atleast until the population including the cheaters die down. It's always been an attrition battle on who places a counter last which means it could always go both ways. Either left with cheaters or left with a good defense against cheating
343 has a habit of abandoning things when things don't go the way they expect them to. Perhaps if they did it right in the first place they would have a more consistent successful outcome.
My reaction to the giving up has gone from "god damn you" to "good. Thank you. I'll slam the door on you on the way out."
And I swear the day they finally give up the last thing they have (which is their grasp on halo) not only will I slam the door shut, I'll also use every damn nail on planet earth to make sure they can't come back.

The classic Halo kid in me nearly agrees with you. I will say having Halo 4 in the MCC was iffy to me at first but I’ve come to really value it over time
@@slickdaddypHALO That's totally fair. I just could never really get into it. On the story front the game just felt forced. I liked how everything was wrapped up for Chief in Halo 3. I wish they would have kept doing what they did with Reach and ODST where they shifted the focus away from Chief.
