Steelseries’ budget lineup of keyboards are pretty interesting - the Apex 3 is a full rubber dome keyboard that’s selling for £50, and the Apex 5 is an OLED wielding “Hybrid Mechanical Switch” board that costs £110. I can’t say these are exactly for me, but lets take a look and see what they’re like and maybe, just maybe, they will be for you.

You failed to adapt the review of the keyboard for the users. Users who are looking at these keyboards are looking for something lower cost and quiet most probably, and thus not going for the most expensive mechanical keyboards and switches. This was a rant and not a review.
So true. I was looking for a quiet keyboard, cheap, somewhat water proof, and most importantly, a physical roller or button to adjust the volume. This keyboard is perfect for me.
@@timliu6870Exactly. It was perfect for me as well. I use to type at work and type hard. This keyboard feels way less janky than my full mechanical boards due to having the membrane. They feel way better to type all day on when I type harder. I also game in the Apex 5 and it’s wonderful. If I replace I’ll buy another.

I tried this keyboard before ordering mine and from someone who already owns a blue switch mechanical keyboard, it definitely feels like a mechanical keyboard. This is the first negative review I see on this board and the like to dislike ratio tells me it wasn’t a very good one

A review shouldn't be biased. Personally I have the Apex 3 and it's a wonderful keyboard. Nice RGB, quiet keys and tactile key feel.

On the link you gave us for the Apex 3 (UK) it shows the US layout on the thumbnails and I don’t really feel like converting to a keyboard that I’m not used to altogether. Would I be getting a UK keyboard or not?

Feels just like a blue just picked one up as well steel series make fantastic quality keyboards and this didn't disappoint.

I just bought the Apex 3. Don't really care what any reviews say, it's a really nice looking keyboard IMO and the key placement is very good. I hardly make any errors typing with it, it feels like I've been using it for years. I love the feedback on it, and the sound is quiet but still nice. Full size just how I like em and the pricepoint is value IMO as well. I love it.
Wtf is this? The large majority of people with red switches on a mechanical keyboard bottom out as well, so how is the membrane one worse?
Only thing I don't understand is I just got the Apex 3 and my typing speed went up from 105wpm to 114wpm. Literally just in one day after I adjusted to the Apex 3...and it's silicon dome. Personally I think mechanical keyboards are hype. I have had cherry reds, browns and blues..and I've never typed as fast until today with these silicon domes?
Anybody agree with this? Maybe I make a video comparison soon

@@1pas266 they're meant to be but my fingers respond to the silicon domes in the apex 3 better. No idea why but my typing scores went up with the apex 3 after moving from brown keys

Yea well I got the headphones and love them so I grabbed the apex 3 too on a whim. I want it quiet is all my razer is seriously annoying. I play war thunder so it doesnt need to be extremely responsive lol imean I've never noticed keyboards being unresponsive especially wired ones
Can someone tell me if the response time on the apex 3 is good or bad. Because I don‘t know if I should buy one or not. (for Fortnite)

@@while3980 yup, its an awesome keyboard. Switches can be a bit loud because they're blue, but other than that it is awesome, I highly recommend it.

been using a 6g v2 (red) for 10 years. spilled water into the board like over 10 times, still works perfectly , and is the smoothest red switch ive used and i love the big enter key!

i've seen a lot of reviews, they all say that it does feel mechanical and it's an amazing keyboard except for this guy lol.
I like the key strokes, but i hate the back lighting, they are too overwhelming for my eyes when i looked at them personally. I don't care whatever they say about membrane hybrid or fully mechanical keyboard, what i do care is about how they feels overall for typing experience + gaming, it comes down to price actually.

I have an Apex 5, I've been using it for gameplays,, Its not that bad although its a great keyboard..
The apex 3 is so bad for the price I bought it when I really didn’t know anything about keyboards and regret it so much so that’s why I’m getting a dk61 today

Why even do a review on a non-mechanical keyboard when you have a bias against membrane keyboards. Not everyone wants a loud ass keyboard.

Why the downvotes? Why would anyone buy a 99$ membrane keyboard with a clicker? You can even get big brand mechanical keyboards for that price, like ducky for example.
