Designed in 2021 by Philippe Delhotal, Creative Director of Hermès Horloger, the Hermès H08 watch features a blend of rigorous discipline and originality. Hovering between tension and fluidity, this contemporary signature with its assertive style is an object that is all about balance and contrast. Its multiple facets are reflected in a play on shapes and materials. Careful attention to detail and accurate skills forge a character as sporty as it is elegant. The vitality and sensuality of its lines reveal a singular aesthetic, featuring a circular dial with an original font housed in a square case with softened edges.
Mingling textures with minerality, deep shades and colourful touches along with uncluttered geometrical lines, the Hermès H08 watch, with its sporty spirit and urban allure, echoes the masculine universe of the house. The collection welcomes brightly coloured variations: yellow, green, blue, or orange.
The cushion-shaped case of this new Hermès H08 is fashioned from a block of composite. Both light and sturdy, this material with its unique appearance is made of braided and aluminised glass fibre and slate powder. This natural pigment gives it subtle silvery reflections against which the black ceramic bezel and crown stand out, creating a play on light and shade that highlights the depth of the concrete-coloured dial with its fine finish, punctuated by black hands and luminescent applied Arabic numerals.
Touches of yellow, green, blue, or orange on the watch-glass seal, the minutes track and the varnished seconds hand accentuate the clarity of this display, powered by a Hermès H1837 mechanical self-winding movement. A rubber strap with a structured “woven” effect matches the colours of each model.

I purchased an H08 graphene this weekend to commemorate my 40th birthday. Overall I love the watch. It’s very comfortable, stealthy, and stylish. My only feedback for Hermes at this time would be 1) ramp production of straps for the H08. I would LOVE to have an orange band for my graphene model as well as the ability to purchase an Hermes leather strap for it. 2)Supply a travel box integrated into the box. 3) Improve the lume. The lume on the graphene is very weak, I believe due to the darker applied indices than the standard model. To me this watch is in competition with the Cartier Santos, so they need to get the lume to Cartier levels and put out more strap options for it.
These are all relatively minor items though and do not lessen the amount of love I have for the watch. It is a piece that will be in my collection until it’s time for me to pass it onto my loved ones.

Great designs, but if I buy a Hermés of all watches I'm going to want it on leather strap.
I can't wait for your review later this year of the chronograph. I did wait all the way until the end to finally see it haha. The extension in the clasp is an intelligent implementation for that micro adjustment. A very well considered design. As others mentioned the competition is tough for the three hander HM08 , however that micro pusher design and limiting it to a bi compax (who needs hours anyways? The only time I've used it was to see how long ago since I forgot to stop the chronograph). I will be interested in its price and to know if they plan to release a model on a bracelet eventually. Could be good competition for the new octo Roma's that you recently reviewed.

These look good. I would rather not have a date. I would also pick a different strap (yes, they are aligned with the sporty nature of the watch, but look too eBay). Those are my only two negatives, other than that, a unique personality with a great combination of shape, color, material, and font. Well done Hermes, they just keep getting stronger.

Controversial opinion: I actually like if the date wheel does a little nudge downwards around 15 minutes before 12 before it then instantaneously flicks over. Don't know why but it feels like it says "hey buddy, it's almost midnight!"

Nice timepieces and very funky. Clearly aimed at a younger market. Try using finger cots for your presentations. They are used by watchmakers and allow for better tactility when handling the watches.❤️🙏

I like the look and the colors. I would like to wear these watches in summer. But for that price she might have had a few more gimmicks. For example a GMT function.
Fun and Original sports watch. For (I assume) >10K for a time complication only they should have a better job with the date position. it seems they took a general seiko movement and implement it in their case

@@WatchAdvisor I meant the new 3 hand version VS graphene version in terms of their weight and rigidity.
Very happy with my H08 , its just light and strong for everyday life, even for my golf games. Just the Hermes strap are too long for my small wrist and have to use other rubber straps. A bit shame i couldnt use that beautiful buckle/clasp. Wish I could ask for shorter strap option. But at the Hermes boutique dont find the sales really know about their watches.

I like the bright colors but the dial shape is short of Hermes-esque. Sevenfriday looks better.

@@WatchAdvisor I can't even find the watch on their website. The only ones I can find are the original releases. Seemed to be a fair amount of press back in March, but nothing since then. Feeling like this is the strangest release I've ever seen.

@@WatchAdvisor Alex, these are not 39mm cases, they are all 42mm. I looked everywhere on the Hermes website and even contacted Hermes on several occasions as I wanted the H08 in 39mm. They replied saying 39mm H08 doesn’t exist and the communication with the watch media have been wrong - it apparently had something to do with the way they measure the case size which doesnt make any sense but the fact of the matter is this year’s release is 42mm H08 with more color variations. Not my opinion, this is what Hermes said. Also, please look for a 39mm H08 yourself on the link you commented..

The misaligned date window is off putting and an unacceptable detail in my opinion.

These are so nearly great! But sadly just not quite!
The date window is very stealthy; absolutely love that.
But unfortunately the colour choices are not really what they actually should be.
Orange:
To be entirely expected, given it is of course Hermes’ house colour;
Yellow:
It is mellow, yet simultaneously somewhat a bit Richard Mille-ish too;
Blue:
The shade is totally wrong; it should be more midnight / notte or French navy;
Green:
A good effort, although the shade on the dial is clearly different to the one on the strap;
But where is the scarlet (Coca-Cola) red?
Rather like Piaget Polos - in fact even more so - these watches remind me of the Patek Philippe Aquanauts. So the blue should have been like the 5168G-001, and a red like the 5167A-012 ‘Singapore’ special edition. That would be beyond cool. If you have never seen one, then here is an interesting link:
