  • This video is about How To Restore Pavers
    I put together this video to showcase some of the information in our paver restoration process.
    From prep work to stripping two previous contractors work, to cleaning the pavers and then sanding / sealing.
    The client was more than thrilled about the finished product.

    Im learning so much from watching how you Americans do Jet washing and sealing.
    I live in the UK. You have better set ups when it come to equipment and chemicals. 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻

    Thanks for this! Because of this video it made my decision easy to replace my asphalt driveway with asphalt. Only $60 a year to sealcoat that sh1t.

      Yes, pavers do need regular maintenance! They're highly pushed as a "luxury" but require upkeep. This is a worst case scenario shown in the video! Not all paver projects are like this.

    Do you have a certain type of sand preference? I’ve heard silica sand can be rinsed in to joints well.

    • @properexterior
      @properexterior  Před 10 měsíci

      We use SEK joint sand. It’s ASTM C-144 specd. This means it’s cut at certain angles to interlock when pushed into joints. Providing for a stronger bond.
      Comes in a bunch of different colors.

    hey guys nice job, how much do you charge for this job kind of job? i mean in average, id been looking for a wide range of prices, from 1$ per sqf to 7$ per sqf....thanks

      We’re in Florida, we charge anywhere from $1.50-$3.25
      Depending on multiple variables, site conditions, logistics, etc. in some cases that price may go up significantly

    You apply the sand when the pavers are wet? I’ve never seen that before. All other instructions say they must be 100% dry.

    Trying to resand my pavers. I have these same color pavers. What sand do you recommend that i could find at A big box retailer or online, any color if any? Thanks

    • @properexterior
      @properexterior  Před 9 měsíci +2

      So this job we used platinum from trident or sek surebond. Joint sand is what we use, but that’s also because we’re sealing afterwards.
      Depending on your climate and soil conditions, you may be suitable for polymeric which you could use the same color but no need for sealing

    • @properexterior
      @properexterior  Před rokem +1

      We typically use gold assassin, and hot water.
      If you have a propane torch you can slightly heat the pavers up after cleaning and that will help burn off the remainder.
      You can also scrub dawn dish soap platinum into the pavers with some water and multiple times and leave that sit.

      Mini mondo targets paver surface.

    • @properexterior
      @properexterior  Před rokem

      So trident says 3-5 years. I tell all of our customers plan for 3 years. That is the maximum lifespan of the color enhancement and gloss. I would say year two joints start to soften up a little bit and then color starts to blend / lighten slightly. We haven’t seen this sealer “fail” yet which is a good thing for the installer and client.

      Tidal Wave Gel is what we use from trident products. You'll have to do some research and see if you can get it where you are. They only sell to contractors though.

    What is your water reclaim system? That is a lot of chemical water reclaim. I'm looking into getting into surface washing, and am trying to figure out what reclaim system people use to get an idea of what to go with. Don't want to get a $10k fine or 5yrs federal prison for letting contaminated water into the drains.

    How much does it cost for 560 sq ft - wet look pavers

    • @properexterior
      @properexterior  Před 3 měsíci

      Depends on multiple variables in order to achieve an accurate price. In our region we see from $1.50 to $1.85 for most “new install” not previously sealed pavers.
      Any job that has been previously sealed requires in person testing, examination and other necessary information before deciding if it’s something we want to take on and then at that point we can provide pricing. Typically those start at the higher $2.75 per square foot and go up from there. In some situations the pavers will have to be replaced. *highly uncommon*

      We use filter socks in the curbs near the property line where water is grading too. Thought this was common sense and we didn't need to go over it. We don't put it right in front of the driveway, that way it doesn't get clogged with the sand, debris and other stuff that comes out from the stones.
