Another realization about Dr Bushroot. I always got the reference to poison ivy from Batman but the fact that he was so obsessed with his coworker and fell in love with her believing she shared the same feelings because she used his first name as a very similar vibe to the mad hatter in Batman when he fell in love with and eventually kidnapped Alice because he thought she loved him too so many references that I've missed over the years. Darkwing duck proves that the writing is so superb that each time you watch it you realize something that you missed on previous viewings
I loved Darkwing back in the day, and was excited when he came back into comics in 2010. I hope Disney gives us that new series they've been teasing us with since Ducktales.
It's the perfect mix of Action, Crime, and Comedy. Darkwing Duck is a smart guy (well, duck) and he is a wonderful character. And his intro is still a banger.
What the narrator calls a second season was actually aired concurrently with the first one, but exclusively on Saturday mornings while the rest was exclusively weekday afternoons. The first appearance of Negaduck was on the Saturday morning lineup, and actually somewhat conflicted with the character's frequent appearances in the syndicated episodes. The 'third' season' was simply a second season of 13 more cartoons for the Saturday morning time block, while the 'first' season was simply repeated on weekdays for a second year.
All these years I missed that joke. Doctors Gary and Larson? For those who don't know Gary Larson is the author and creator of The far side comics I can't believe one of my favorite comic strips didn't register when I heard those names especially when I've seen that episode more than once
Darkwing Duck is parody of classic superhero characters such as Batman, The Shadow, The Sandman, Doc Savage, The Green Hornet and the Julius Schwartz Flash, as well as The Lone Ranger and Zorro.
I loved the original. As well as the original DuckTales. They remade that one. Now this? Disney, really can't leave well enough alone. Stop messing up my childhood.
Maybe I'm looking through rose-colored nostalgia glasses.... but I don't think Darkwing Duck had an episode that was a complete disappointment. (For example, remember the one where Twin Peaks was parodied?) But honestly, Disney animated series had been at their peak in the early 90s (Okay, The Little Mermaid was a bit lame. But otherwise, the other shows were mostly very high quality).

I hated getting up early for school when I was a kid. But when darkwing ducks was on I'd get up an hour early exited to watch this and Talespin
I liked Quaker Jack! He was a nut but very good at it and despite his goof ups he's smart..

It was a cool little glimpse we got thru DuckTales reboot new designs and a whole lot of changes that made sense of there a reboot I’m watching
