You first need to learn the difference between Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, and then read a good book on stamp collecting so you don't sound so incredibly misinformed ! Then you need to explain that a few of the stamps you mention have common look-alikes that aren't worth much before getting the hopes up of the other uninitiated...
Sir I am from India..I have some stamp of USA..how can I know the valuation of those stamps?please help me
@@saurabhroy7100 Scott stamp catalogs have all stamps and values listed. buy a used one on ebay.
Plus, if I’m not mistake …please correct me if I am wrong…the stamp that said ‘playing cards’ was a tax stamp. Some stamps were made and used to show that taxes had been paid for the item. Mainly paper goods like paper, maps, playing cards…things like that. Hope this info helps someone out there. 😊
As a suggestion, it be good to state what makes some of these stamps valuable. Concerning the first stamp, which actually pictures Ben Franklin, the 1875 and the 1880 special printings are indeed worth thousands of dollars. However there 5 other varieties of the same stamp that are not nearly as valuable, and several varieties are relatively common in used condition. As far as the 1923 Harding memorial stamp is concerned, there were 4 varieties printed. One is very rare and valuable. The other 3 are not rare and one variety is quite common. The 1909 ten cent coil would be more valuable with the line between the stamps (called a line pair), but the same stamp printed in 1922 is of much lesser value.
You keep messing up Thomas Jefferson with Benjamin Franklin
He's a goofball.
Too bad you don't explain WHY these particular stamps are valuable, but ones that are virtually identical in design are nearly worthless. Most particularly the 1912 Washington stamp. There are several other varieties of this stamp that to the unknowing look just like the stamp in the video, but are worth only a few cents at most, due to them being extremely common. There are varieties in perforation, printing process, watermark, design size, etc that determine whether this is a valuable stamp or common. Your failure to discuss this is a disservice to your viewers who now think they have a $29k stamp, go to a stamp dealer to sell it, and are told they have nothing.
This hucksterism does great harm to the Stamp hobby. You don't know your butt from third base on stamps.
I already kinda assumed this was the case after I watched the video, I have many stamps tho where do I find a stamp dealer?
i have one worth $50.00
I agree. I was hoping for an explanation.
It would take all day....
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
I have old stamps in my box. I’m going to the bank to check them now! Thanks,😊👍🏼Lots of Love Bobbi 😊

Thanks!
Wow I didn’t know that a stamp could be worth so much money, great job Justin 👍👍
Thanks!
@@couchcollectibles would you work with I have bunch of vintage stamps
Happy Birthday Couch!! Awesome stamps!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Linda!
I have 1 of the RED TWO CENT Stamps, I found it in an 1910 Scrap Book on some Post Cards !!
Glad to see you branching out into other collectibles (just viewed beanie babies), I love American currency collecting/searching but enjoy stamps as well. I understand it, but maybe you could make another video about why these or other similar stamps sold for these amounts. I see everyone posting that they have half or most of those listed, when they probably do not. There are a few listed in the video that have close to 5 to 10 varieties each, based on the postage price, color variations, whether it's cancelled, ink grid style (Z or other), perforrated or not, condition and if the original glue is intact. Keep up the excellent work, I don't think you've made a video I haven't enjoyed.
Got a hug collection of postalcards and stamps looking for serious collectors to work with!
I inherited my dads stamp collection he’d been collecting for 71 years. There are three of these stamps in his collection along with others that could be worth a significant amount.
Probably but these are rare variations he isn't explaining what makes these valuable. These have commons that look exactly like it.
Those I.R.S. stamps are great. I recently bought a grab bag of foreign stamps online. It had a french "bath" stamp in it. Awsome.take care
I got a stamp collection from my great grandma but I havent looked through the stamps yet, Im pretty sure there is a couple thousand stamps in the boxes though.
Been a sub for a while love watching the videos I get so excited seeing the things you post and search my coins endlessly to be disappointed to not have it but you inspire me to look so thanks
Thanks for watching!
I have a bunch of old stamps but most of them are on old post cards thanks for info i will look
I used to have a stamp collection I collected stamps as a child with my father. I don’t know what happened to that collection but I got another collection as an adult and gave it to my son in law. He helped fund his pilot school through the value of the stamp collection.
So I just bought a stamp collection and we have 4 of the George Washington ones. Is there a way to tell which ones would actually have value? Or would they all have high value?
These are amazing! I have a couple of these... I inherrited about 40 coins dated from 1800s-1950's, different amounts... and a booklet of stamps, know nothing about them.. do i clean them? find a special book for them? sell them?? idk, but thanks for this video!
At an old storage unit all was empty except a few boxes loaded with stamps ...i put then in a container where they sat for ten years, opened them last night and OMG! SO many old , special prints etc.....from both world wars etc etc! Sat there for ten years! The storage was being demolished so they were left for the pickin....glad i picked;!
I do home renovations and demo , today I’m working in south Pasadena and learned from neighbors that the original owners have lived their whole life’s since early 1900s, well the owners passed about 5 years ago and it’s been abandoned since not even COVID was present in that house, long story short I found a box filled with Benjamin Franklin stamps that date back to 1911 or even earlier a lot of stamps so now I’m here trying to learn the value
Thanks 😊
Not in to stamps but I might be now got to look for some later
very good thanks
Hello. Thanks for the video. I believe the wavy ink, that's on the stamp. Means it has been sent through the mail and has been post marked. I think in some cases, if post marked, it can add value to the stamp. I could be wrong.
Most stamps (not all) are worth more mint (unused) than used.
But some stamps are valuable for the postmark, like any stamp from the UK cancelled with a Wotton-Under-Edge Maltese Cross.
Good money for this stamps. Thanks
Bailed on this video the minute I heard "with some kind of ink on it".
Don't blame you - this video is a pile of crap!!!!
Same
Yeah...guy doesn't know what playing card tax stamps are and thinks the Hawaiian 2 cent has a boring design. Is this a joke?
Lol almost did but gave it a chance anyway. It's the jack of all trades master of none thing. There are so many collectibles where each one has in depth knowledge so it can't be done in one short sitting.
He researched stamp values not postmark values so probably didn't capture anything on cancellations...that's a whole other category so I can deal with bolo (be on the lookout) stamps without the host having any knowledge about them because the pictures 😉 The video did offer me some good references to use as I look through my old postally used postcards for rare high dollar stamps.
Thankful to Couch Collectibles for that 😊 I just took screenshots of the stamps and cancellations/ postmarks so I can reference back quickly.
Funny you said something because I truly was thinking the same 🤣
I just got my dad's stamp collection. He worked for the post office for 30 yrs.
Wow! Amazing surprise video!
Ya don't know your Ben Franklin from Thomas Jeffrlerson! Outside of that pretty interesting!
Hahaha I feel like I at least mess up every few videos. I call pennies, dimes all the time. Cant be perfect
Thanks Justin I appreciate your videos is it your birthday someone just said that in their comment? If it is then 💐 Happy Birthday 💐God bless you, you are so awesome and have a wonderful day!!🤗😄🌼🌺🌸
Birthday is tomorrow the 23rd. Thank you!!

Hey Justin from SC. Would like a video on milk spots on proof sets. Are the coins worthless? Thanks!
The 2cent George Washington stamp shown with the odd perforations from 1920 is not worth thousands of dollars. Depending on the variety, it could be worth anywhere from a few cents to a few hundred dollars. The special perforations were developed by the Schermack Company for use in their mailing machine. The one stamp which was used in their machine that is worth thousands of dollars is a four cent stamp from the 1906-1908 series.
Good show on Stamp I have a few thanks
Nice info
Wow...stamps...who knew???
I have the Harding 2 Cent stamp..Good condition :)
I have all these stamps in my collection!
I found the red george washington one in my dads old stamp book from the 80s we are planning on brining it for appraisal soon
COOL Stamp video see you JOHN 👍😎🎃
Thanks!
Hey you
Hey Couch Collectibles! I totally respect what you do here! You are a wealth of information! So, here's the deal! My wife's father has so many old stamps just like these. Especially that Red Washington Stamp! We have a boatload of them! My wife took them to a so-called expert and he looked at them and said we didn't have anything valuable. I think its time to get a second opinion on their valve.
"We have a boatload of them." Here's your sign!
@@tubinreo Come Again?
@@saxonsteve The chances of finding even one rare variety stamp in a lot of common stamps is extremely small. Many of the common stamps were issued in the billions. If one billion commons were issued as opposed to 50,000 of a rare variety, that's 20,000 to 1. To "expect" to find 10 of the rare stamp in a completely random lot, you'd need to look through 200,000 stamps. And that's with random lots; the stamps in a common collection have probably been searched through several times, over the century or more that they have been collectibles, for the rare varieties. I am a stamp dealer; and personally I have no interest in looking through a landfill for a lost diamond. Even if a rare stamp were found, it would very most likely be of poor grade, and worth only a fraction of catalog value. Gem conditioned and centered stamps have long ago been culled from even common stamp lots. More simply; if a casual collector has "a boatload" of a stamp variety, its a lock cinch bet that they are the common ones.
It is perhaps better use of electrons to suggest: if you, or anyone, who has a large lot of common 2 cent (reds) stamps (the ones that carried billions of letters in the early 1900s) thinks that there are rarities in their lots, they shouldn't expect anyone else to search through them. Stamp identifiers are available online. Break out the magnifier (and perforation gauge and watermark tray, if necessary for the types) and a good light and sit down for a few hours of the thrill of the hunt! If you find a nice one that you are just sure is a rare type, send it for authentication before you get too enthusiastic about it. Good luck!
I feel it's more like this when they are in our hands they ain't worth nothing.. but when they are in their hands oh big bucks.. I got rid of my collection and wish I still had em it's like a trip down memory lane.. I have the same exact stamps that are valued a lot on their site.. but in my hands ain't worth crap.. but right next to their high prices it'll say this item is hard to come by.. only one in stock and some one has it in their cart..
H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y!! 🎂 🎈 Love this stamp video! 🌈👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♈️

You forgot to mention the second stamp has to have the perforation on the outside because I've got a few of those stamps and I thought I had a very expensive stamp it's only if you have the outside perforation as indicated in the photo of your CZcams video.
Certain years didnt have perforated edges
@@steeze221
Well I have about five or six of these stamps but that doesn't mean they're worth anything probably just common
Hi, I have the George Washington 2 cent stamp , same , except the two square perforations are on the right side. Do you think that it is worth something?

I found out that my sister has the missing part of the postage stamp collection that our dad forgot about and we run across before our Mom passed away.
When you do stamps it would help if you told the color they are Thank You love your video's
I have several of these stamps how do I find a buyer. Or have them cataloged.
Blue stamps are B.Franklin. Ink on stamps is p.o. cancellation. 2nd Red Stamp is Schermack Stamp. 2nd Harding Stamp is more valuable because it is perfectly centered. Justin, Where did the stamps sell? Online Auction?
i’m looking for a picture on a George Washington 1867 3 cents B grill
I have a couple of stamps how do I send you a picture to see if it is valuable.
The first stamp is Ben Franklin !
I have a 3cnt stamp with an Eagle in the shape of a "V" and in the center it says "WIN THE WAR".
Michael Leftwich DUDE I HAVE THE SAME ONE TWO OF THEM
I am just looking at a lot of stamps videos because i know nothing of them and I just found about more than 5 stamp books(?) that were in my late grandfather’s old possessions.
The oldest stamp I found was a 1664 stamp there are also some from the 1800 and I don’t know anything about their worth.
1664? The very first U.S. and British postage stamps were printed in 1840.
أنا من أكثر الناس اعجاب بالفيديوهات بتعتك وانا بتابعك على اليوتيوب وتويتر
1:54 I swear I thought that was Adolf!
I find it hard to believe that I would own the 2 cent from 1920 with the weird perforation. It is on the right and on both sides of other ones I own. Must be something I am missing right?
Some kind of ink that was pressed on it. It's called a postage mark.
My wifes grandfather left us books of these old stamps prolly 10k stamps how can we find out what they are worth?
Get a stamp catalogue. Jesus!
