Where in Paris can you get TWO fountains for the price of one? Head to the Luxembourg gardens in Paris and find out.
The newly restored Medici fountain (originally created in the 17th century) and the "Fontaine de Leda" (a 1st Empire creation) once moved to a special corner of the Luxembourg gardens... and met, to visitors' delight.

Enjoyed the restored Medici Fountain. I agree that placing the two fountains back to back was a great idea. Also viewing them without tourists was a treat. Thanks.

Three times I've visited the Luxembourg gardens, three times I've missed the Medici fountain. How could I have missed it?? C'est magnifique, thank you for the close-up view. During my visits, enjoyed the statues of the queens. Some of their inscriptions are heartbreaking. I live in Canada and I'm currently up to my knees in snow and wearing battery-heated gloves to keep my fingers from freezing when I walk my dog, so it's lovely to see that January in Paris is gentle in comparison. How long does actual winter last there?

Winter lasts until early March. It can be quite grey and damp... or sunny and cold, like today :-)
