In the 1930s, Japan established Unit 731 in northeastern China. It was a notorious branch of the Imperial Japanese Army that carried out lethal experiments on thousands of prisoners. Before Japan surrendered in 1945, Unit 731 blew up its laboratories and prisons to destroy any evidence before leaving China. Hideo Shimizu was in charge of the operation and was ordered to keep it strictly secret. More than 70 years later, the aging Shimizu decided to break his silence and apologize to the Chinese people for Unit 731 and the crimes it committed.

Some of these children went back to japan after WW2 but others became “Chinese” as they remain in China. Japan has never once properly apologized to the victims. Their atrocities were completely erased from Japanese textbooks. Massacre of innocent civilians in the colony, 731 Maruta Unit, Japanese military sex slaves, etc. They are still taught to respect the emperor and glorify war. It is very disgusting that shrine visits for war criminals are supported nationwide. Can you imagine the Chancellor of Germany bowing his head and praying for Hitler every year? It still happens in Japan. It's late, but please reflect and apologize.
