This sounds corny, but those full-on Classics from late 20’s to late 30’s are so beautiful, almost makes me weep, like being moved by art. Which these cars surely are. For y’all Hershey is the go-to, but for me growing up it was Auburn, IN, for the Auburn-Cord-Deusenberg Festival and Kruse Auction. Starting from about age 6, my dad would take me every few years. These visits directly infused my love of cars. Again, thanks for all the time and effort y’all put in to show us these masterpieces!!

Thanks Mike! Probably the most thorough video of The Hershey Show Field. Curious if you caught anything in the Production 50s, 60s, 70s era you could share? Thanks again, job well done.

Nice episode Mike. The trucks were outstanding. If you guys do an old Ford truck build my head will spontaneously detonate off my shoulders. Which would be bad because I wouldn't be able to watch the build. I'll have to work on that.

great video. just thinking, the last time i was at hershey was 1980. scary thing is, the dodge van we used to trailer our model a is probably entered in your show this year or at least qualifies in at one of the classes. lol. man im getting old. just realized my car is 90 years old now. all original though and thats the way its going to stay. its in my will that if my son sells or modifies it in any way its sold to a collector and all the money goes to the dav. it aint worth much anyways but the fact of the matter is, its like cyprus trees, there arent but so many old growth original ones left out there. this a is going to stay that way.

Really nice stuff. I did not see any Diamond T trucks. I always loved the look of them. Had a 1949 that was used by a cement plant but never finished it.

I don't care what anyone says, nothing beats 30's and 40's cars for pure style. There's more style in the hood ornaments alone than anything produced in the last 20-30years.

I am wondering if it was a requirement that in order to display your car, you had to have an extinguisher adjacent to the vehicle? If it was (or is), that is a great safety feature to protect these valuable (priceless) pieces of automobile history, as well as the public - that should be the case at all car shows.

Be happy that you made this one as the inspiration from those give the guys that build a true rat rod, quite different from todays creations of making aberrations. We built cars to be driven every day and they were weird cause we used what ever it took to make it from point a to point b..... and maybe "c" if luck held as we never had new parts unless someone ran out of gas or had more flats than spares... I know my dad fixed tires the night before for our car we road in everyday. I was allowed to drive cause I repaired the engine or what ever it took and if it was saveir enough then he helped with soldering or welding, I wasn't very good with bonding two pieces together with just coal and some pitch to increase the heat even more on thick pieces like "rims" as they were hard to come by and never were balanced but maybe trued. Todays rig will bury the speedo and those were lucky to move the needle or they bounced around. You had to be doing something ridiculous to get stopped for speed as most roads were not even posted... residential was sometimes listed slow but not fifteen or twenty. Yeah thing were different but the same and polish was why?! LOL. I took the hood off my dads international log truck and let the kids ride on it for snow sledding and it never hurt it but the thin layer of paint was gone but dad just took it back after he also road on it once. A great video, felt like I was there

    • @IronTrapGarage

That’s an AACA rule. In order to show the car it must have a fire extinguisher
