he needs to have a concealed holster to keep his gun so he is not just standing in the street with it in his hands. Also not the best idea to run after the thieves. Once they run, and you decide to chase after them, you can no longer claim personal protection.
@@davidgribble263 it seems that would be the case but legally if you are chasing someone down the street you now become the aggressor. I don't blame the Troopers because they didn't know him and the didn't know what had just happened. Police received multiple reports of a person in the road with a firearm. Then, the manager "waived with his gun at a passing CHP car." Waiving, with a gun at a passing state trooper. (In liberal California) That will probably get you put in cuffs every time. (until they ID you and confirm the story) State troopers are just that, they work the highways mostly and obviously didn't know the manager. After he was passed off to OPD they learned his identity. Look at it from the officers point of view. In a city and state where people are known to hate police. In a state where police have been ambushed and killed in the recent past. They would not have detained him had he called 911 first. We all know we can protect ourselves from criminals who are there to harm us. The law doesn't say we can chase criminals down the road waiving a gun. In the eyes of the law it's a no-no.
Well at least the cops were nice enough to detain the business owner/defender of property and let the criminals run free with no update or willingness to look for them. And for those Californians looking to get away from the nightmares you've helped create, please don't go to another state and help recreate the nightmare you fled.

@@davidgribble263 it seems that would be the case but legally if you are chasing someone down the street you now become the aggressor.
