  • đŸŽ™ïžđŸŽ™ïž In this week's podcast episode we're changing things up and we're talking about toners!
đŸ§Ș The category can seem pretty confusing, so let's compare two very popular toners - Round Lab's Dokdo Toner vs. Anua's 77% Heartleaf Toner. Round Lab is a good example of a classic toner formula with a blend of light glycols and extracts. Anua has a lead extract but actually includes other extracts and actives as well. We generally feel that these toners can be a nice enrichment piece in your routine and can be a great arena to try exotic extracts.

Unless the extract is standardized to a percentage of the active compound how do we know what we’re actually getting? The raw material supplier could just be soaking a handful of leaves or roots in a vat of water and calling it an extract. Not all active compounds are very water soluble or stable. Can you discuss this in an episode?

oh boy, that is definitely a can of worms. you might've guessed it... nothing is standardized. it's on the chemist in charge to go through and validate the sourcing. a not so glamorous but very important job
      great idea for an episode!
