About: Young Sheldon is an American coming-of-age sitcom television series for CBS created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. The series, set in the late 1980s and early 1990s, is a spin-off prequel to #TheBigBangTheory and begins with the character #SheldonCooper at the age of nine, living with his family in East Texas and going to high school. #IainArmitage stars as young Sheldon, alongside #ZoePerry, #LanceBarber, #MontanaJordan, #RaeganRevord, and #AnniePotts. #MattHobby was promoted to the main cast starting with the third season. #JimParsons, who portrays the adult Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, narrates the series and serves as an executive producer.
Watching Paige go from adorable and funny to her teen years during college is amazing. Grace is such a great actress.
Yeah. Mckenna's definitely come a long way over the years.
Producer Steve Holland confirmed that Paige was under contract to appear in 9 episodes. By the time, we get to her last appearance, The Big Bang Theory was finished and there was no way to include her in the present continuity. The point of Paige’s character was for Sheldon to realize how difficult and heartbreaking it is to be a child prodigy. The writer’s strike shortened up the final season and McKenna Grace had scheduling conflicts.
Possibly the most surprising thing about season 7: they never finished the Paige story arc. She never appeared. We don't know what her adult life was like, or if she even made it to adulthood
In the end Paige got adopted by Captain America who's her uncle
@@teoengchin that would mean that her neighbor/maternal figure is Mee Maw's parole officer... which would mean she should have been in that episode and that should have been a subplot of that episode
Season 7 was a short season and they couldn't get the actress booked during the time they were filming.

I would have loved to see her interact with not just adult Sheldon but the whole gang, I think she would have been a great addition, if only they thought of her character when Big Bang Theory was still running
They did. She was introduced in season 2. YS season 2 finale and tbbt finale aired the same day. They could’ve mentioned paige.
@@Its_Elise_C yeah I was thinking more along the lines of them creating her character during like season 8 of Big Bang Theory and she became a recurring and maybe later promoted to series regular. That would have been nice
@@Its_Elise_C every episode of Big Bang may have been filmed by the time the audience saw Paige so it wouldn't make sense to mention her
I've only seen parts of TBBT (ofc Netflix had to remove it right when I was about to board the ship) but I like to believe that in some ways, Sheldon never forgot about her. Like when he met that child prodigy, Dennis, I like to believe that in the show universe, he's reminded of Paige and that other girl who tutored him in Germany. (tapping the pencil on hand as pain method)
@@ChristopherBingham-xx8xlis bbt still going on???
The way Missy gloated about Sheldon getting punched in the face by a girl was hilarious.
honestly we all think sheldon’s an ass most of the time
@@krishnareddy8256 yeah, Sheldon shouldn't have insulted Paige about her parents divorce by saying she blames herself for the divorce and her family is permanently torn apart.
5:15 what a good actress this young lady is. I would have enjoyed seeing her character more.
Mckenna probably didn't have time to film, but she should at leaat ha've been mentioned. Preferably what became of her.
I agree
Paige's arc wasn't resolved. A rebellious girl like her would have eventually made terrible mistakes that are not reversible. She probably would have become too violent for Sheldon's sake.
I think a lot of people are going to miss this show, it was just so much fun to watch 😢
"there were no lawyers" 😂😂
I’m surprised Sheldon never mentioned Paige in the bigbang theroy
He's probably surpressed the memories 😅
Maybe because the character of Paige was written when they were writing young sheldon 💀
@@arya493 There were 2 years of overlap between both shows
@@oliverfoley3504when did Paige appear in YS? Bro they write the story in advance even if there is 2 years overlap considering Paige only appears at S2 or 3 TBBT has already finished their finale script even before she appears in YS
To see Paige and Amy compete for Sheldon would have been a great storyline.
One of the best guest actors on this show
Too bad Paige did not exist in the TBBT universe. She would have been a perfect adversarial foil for sheldon. 😂
This is actually such a good show
Wish adult sheldon told us what happened to paige
9:26 worst she can say is no 💀💀 on another level
I literally look up Young Sheldon on CZcams once a year to see how she's doing.... and they didn't have anything about her in the final season???
Nothing at all
She was the humbling that Sheldon needed growing up!
I kinda confused that they make Paige to have a crush on Sheldon because that would make Paige a huge impact on Sheldon but didn't make any appearances in TBBT. So it doesn't make sense to make Paige like that. Although Sheldon did his job like Paige is his rival, they still have good connections
Well we know he didn't block Paige out because she is in his memoirs. Maybe he just blocked out her death. Will be interesting to see if she gets mentioned at all in the new series just to tie up that loose storyline.
I would be surprised if Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage mentioned anything about Paige. Mandy never met Paige and Georgie had no real connection to her.
Missy did though and if missy is in it they can use that
@@jesimielchibundom she won't be in it
It would be cool if the writers mention her story after the show in a con
They will probably answer the question soon.
I believe they're making another spin off series so maybe she'll make an appearance there. I feel like she probably offs herself or gets into some deep trouble and ends up in prison or something. I wish things in the bbt universe were more fleshed out... Like can you imagine if on bbt if instead Amy being introduced Paige comes in and starts outsmarting him once again and maybe even end up marrying him.

Freaking Awesome 👍 👍
I'd love to see a intelligent ranking video on which BBT/YS characters. From what we saw Paige, Randall and bunch of other characters are more skilled than Sheldon in academics
That's my spot 😂
I love Mckenna Grace
Why Paige was not mentioned in Big Bang Theory?? Sheldon and Paige looks perfect with each other
In my head canon, Missy and Paige remain friends. Sheldon alienated Missy just as he did Georgie and they didn't speak for years. It was Paige who convinces Missy to reconcile with Sheldon, which is then the time we see her in TBBT where the two of them are settling their dad's estate matters. This makes sense of the 10+ year gap between when he dies and when this matter is settled. Because they never actually talked to get things done until then. All the while Sheldon ignores Paige when she was the driving force between reconciling with his sister, all unbeknownst to him.
It is interesting how people become emotionally attached to a character, especially a character who is not central to the series where they performer is a guest star.
Mckenna Grace was already an established actress even by the time she first appeared in Young Sheldon. She is quite talented in her own right.
Grace is gorgeous
She was the best part of the show! McKenna was excellent.
Sheldon had his chance with Paige when she came to his dorm room and asked if she could stay there. If - instead of what he did say - he'd said:
_"Do you need a hug?"_
He might have had Paige as his girl friend.
What he did say was more in tune with who Sheldon was.
But - who Sheldon was - ended up with Amy ....
Of course - it was already determined who he was going to end up with so Paige wasn't going to happen.
.
He didn't want Paige as his girlfriend. He didn't want a girlfriend. It worked out well. Imagine how heartbroken he'd be if his girlfriend died when she was a child and he was also a child.
What chance? She didn't like him. lol
Sheldon and Paige is the perfect couple!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊

It’s sad how they ruined Paige with her parents divorce
They didn't ruin her. Her parents ruined her.
Would be boring without a good mix.
Which Duo Is Better?
1. Sheldon & Paige.
2. Missy & Paige.
IMO, I Kinda Like Both.
I really hope Paige is related to Ron Swanson 🙏🏼
wish we saw more of her, Paige is the best
Can we just also address the real issue: the underappreciation of the women of science back in that era. :( I really hope we get a spinoff episode with older Paige interacting with Amy and Sheldon and just somehow get another chance in forming friendship.
If Sheldon was a little bit of empathetic he'd understand Paige much better becoming her companion without sending her down the dark path after her parent's divorce.
i like Paige she is a normal Sheldon
Isn’t this the same girl who played a math genius?
Yes
You know I just realized something, Amy’s thoughtfulness and consideration were already inside Sheldon at this point:
Young Sheldon: “Can I offer you a hot beverage?”
TBBT: “Sheldon you have a guest whose upset”
And then Sheldon proceeds to make tea for an upset Penny.
Both a very good way to handle the situation with Paige and reference The Big Bang Theory
As much as i like this show, i think they didn't do paige's character justice, even if she wasn't in TBBT her arc could've at least ended in season 7 rather than 6
she didnt make it up. adults that have a stunted childhood end up as social misfits and weirdos. true to each word. and when she punched him hard in the face, i can just feel the happiness flow through me.
Her character reminds me of Lindsay from Freaks and Geeks.
omg its connorfrog Mckenna Grace
Im not an emotional person but having to think Paige's character in young sheldon is sad. Paige always think everyone around her is just messing around with her and her parents divorced affected her so much that she wishes to be like missy a dumb teenager, the writers wasted Paige's potential. Whats even more sad is that Paige didnt even appeared on TBBT because its a year late so the writers didnt focus on her character that much and didnt show the reason why didnt she at least once appeared or mentioned in TBBT. Who knows if she died of OD or su1c1d3 in her adulthood or maybe her life finally switches into positive one. No one knows what her life is after young sheldon
Was hoping that was Amy.
They could have reintroduced her to the main series
the trick is when you want to leave, dont
idk why they didnt put her in the final season
Why does it look like Paige aged like 5 years in 1 season
One of my favorite characters alongside George.

Why? Sheldon's parents forbade Missy from seeing her again and the parent that died can't even remember who Paige is.
No Paige in the series finale. We literally know nothing about her life and fate.
I can't believe they made the non-comedic show better and funnier than the sitcom.
In contrast to Sheldon, Page's lack of self discipline and good judgement is obviously leading her into personal disaster.
Yup. Paige started off more academically advanced because she had richer parents who put her in private school which Sheldon didn't have. But she didn't have the desire to succeed. The desire is what causes you to have the discipline. As a result, she fell apart, and probably died young
@@SeattlePioneer yup
For me it’s the opposite, She was not only academically advanced but also emotionally and socially aware. Paige's inner complexity surpassed that of Sheldon, who never had to face the same internal struggles. At just 13 years old, Paige navigated the complexities of being a young genius without much support and her parents divorce. This is why she sought out Sheldon's companionship, despite his occasional foolishness. She was a true genius in all ways but life failed her. If anything this shows a tragedy.
She really brings up a good example about how damaging it is for the grandma to talk crap about her dad. Maybe he deserves it but as his daughter she loves her dad so it’s only hurtful. I do no like my older brothers ex wife but I will never safe a disparaging thing about her in front of my nephew.
Why is there so many swansons in the movie and series industry?
She deserves a spin off instead of Georgie.
Disagree

Whatever happened to Paige after her joy ride with Missy?
Who knows? That was her last appearance
Missy and Paige both demonstrated their poor judgment and self discipline in that episode which is very likely what led to the demise of both Missy AND Page.
By contrast, "old man": Sheldon illustrates good judgement and self discipline which leads him on to success in life.
@@SeattlePioneer yup
Hello
i need to know what happened to her 😕
I have heard that initially, the writers proposed the concept of Paige passing away at a young age. This event caused Sheldon to experience an emotional breakdown due to his inability to express his feelings for her, stemming from his limited social skills and emotional intelligence. In an alternate reality, Sheldon envisions a deeper and more meaningful connection with Paige. This concept also sheds light on Sheldon's refusal to acknowledge Dr. Sturgis, Dr. Linklatter, and President Hagemeyer, as he harbors resentment towards them for not guiding him in improving his social awareness. The loss of George adds another layer of grief, which helps explain Sheldon's adult behavior. The reason behind Sheldon's stubbornness and occasional meanness lies in the fact that he lost his inner spark when Paige died, making it challenging for him to accept affection and brighten up like he did during his youth. Sheldon's memory deliberately contradicts itself as a means to conceal the details of Paige's death. However, CBS ultimately rejected this idea as it was deemed excessively dark and hostile for a family sitcom. The writers strike messed up this season by rushing plotlines.

I like her more than that drip Amy. Amy reminds me of the president of that math club who ate my mini eggs after I used them to refill the jellybean container which I guessed the number of jellybeans correctly in using math.
The smartest male will never be rivaled by a female
Paige has honestly got the worst character development in the entire show, from starting as this lovable character to a complete dork in the following seasons.
Wrong... this is character development, something bad happen and people change
@@yuriluiz1072 no denying that Paige underwent character development, my point is that she changed into a drunk and rowdy dork in the successive seasons though she started off as a lovable prodigy. Therefore hers is the worst CD
Page started off as a prodigy superior to Sheldon. But her character defects, such as lack of personal responsibility and self discipline, maimed that potential. Similar to Missy.
By contrast, "old man" Sheldon had loads of self discipline and good judgement, which led him from success to success in life, which arguably included recognizing Amy's virtues as a wife. When confronted by the attractions of Ramona Nowitski, that motivated Sheldon to immediately propose marriage to Amy. I would call that an example of Sheldon's self discipline and good judgement which made a marked positive contribution to success in the remainder of his life.
Character counts.
Paige is likable was Sheldon is a twerp.
I love Marie,
I don’t like her suffering as Paige
Why did it have to be amy it should’ve been Paige 😭
Pages's lack of self discipline and good judgement was already leading her into personal disaster, in my view. Missy suffered from the same problems.
Now---- Ramona Nowitski ---- THERE was a possible alternative to Amy. But when that became apparent to Sheldon, he immediately proposed marriage to Amy. And they BOTH Sheldon and Amy went on to great personal success in their lives.
Interesting to consider why that might have been. Ramona had trained herself to be a man, as illustrated by her leading Sheldon in his research and asking to have contribution recognized ----that turned Sheldon off dramatically.
Perhaps Amy was a more feminine woman, content to let Sheldon make decisions about their lives, even though she had a strong personality herself.
A man and a feminine woman go together like a nut and a bolt.
A man and a masculine woman go together like two bolts.
Did Sheldon choose WISELY?
@@SeattlePioneer Ramona pushed Sheldon away from the recreational activities he loved (paintball, his favorite comic books, his favorite TV shows and movies). She believed Sheldon has to work all the time and never have fun if he wants a Nobel Prize. That doesn't work. People need to have rest sometimes. And although Sheldon loves a Nobel, he also loves his favorite recreational activities. He wasn't romantically interested in her anyway.
She was a little different when she returned, but by then it was too late. He was committed to Amy. Kudos to him for not kissing back when Ramona kissed him. Kudos to his trueness of heart, something Leonard did not have.
Amy helped Sheldon reach his potential without interfering with his favorite recreational activities and he helped her reach her potential. Yes, he chose wisely.
Interesting comment ---thank you.
I see Ramona as the academic equivalent of an "exercise coach." Usually I see Sheldon as being self motivated, but Ramona really revs Sheldon up to unusual academic effort and success.
Was that useful, or excessive as you suggest? Hard to say.
Was it unreasonable for Ramona to ask for academic credit on the paper she and Sheldon were working on? I really don't know enough about such things to say for sure, but a generous person might well have recognized Ramona's contribution to the paper she and Sheldon collaborated on.
And of course it would be quite important for Ramona to receive such credit since she is just beginning an academic career.
In this first episode with Ramona, she is taking an interest in Sheldon's academic research rather than making an overt romantic appeal. She is REJECTED by Sheldon when she tries to get recognition for her contribution on the paper they worked on together. Shame on Sheldon for that, I would say!
In her second episode with Sheldon, Ramona makes an unambiguous romantic appeal to Sheldon ----and is as unambiguously rejected.
It only took two strikes for Ramona to strike out!
@@SeattlePioneer I don't think Ramona helped with the paper at all. She just kept him away from his fun activities so he'd focus more on the paper. If that's the case, she was rightfully denied credit.
It was a lot more than 2 strikes. There were more than 2 times that she kept him away from doing something he loved even before she demanded credit.
When she came back, she was already out in terms of any possibility of her being his girlfriend. All she could be is his friend.
Women are not as stable as men, or at least this storyline implies that. What do you think? Are women more impulsive and less rational on average?
The storyline doesn't imply that at all,a lot of adult men can make the same mistakes as for the average thing idk maybe
how does this imply that at all lol, sheldon never faced the things paige did at her age
I don't know if this is a woman thing, or an autism thing, or a woman with autism thing, but I turn stupider when I'm around people. It's like I surrender my brains to them. It's why I can't learn the way somewhere if shown it and must figure it out for myself.
Paige, has been shown to be superior to Sheldon in every aspect of physics so in TBBT you'd think she'd be on cutting edge research as well and regularly interact and compete with Sheldon. So I can only infer that she sadly never fulfilled her potential as a child prodigy. I hope we get to see more of her in the spin offs living her life without fulfilling that potential and learning to be happy. Or who knows... maybe she already got a Nobel prize way before TBBT even started and Sheldon never mentions her because of how much he hates that. Or we see her in Old Sheldon and her kids are smarter than Sheldon's kids.
Does she only get genius roles?
Btw Free free Palestine 🇵🇸

I suggest that Page and Missy were both busily squandering their abilities and potential, and for the same reasons: lack of self discipline and good judgement.
Bottom line: lack of character.
Perhaps Missy & Paige had some sort of Thelma & Louise moment, but in a tragic end to Paige, only Missy survived. This small side storyline can be explored in the new Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage TV show without having to cram Paige’s dark side into YS.
Go watch bad seed. That's where her path leads.
