This is sort of interesting to me as a painter. As someone who paints both realism and cartoons I often get people commenting things like "well this is actual complex art, but these cartoons are simple popular stuff" and for some reason my brain just relates it to this sort of classical vs remix comparison. When Eddy mentioned the remix is simpler, of course he's right but the fact that the outcome is simplified doesn't indicate a simple process or the lack of classical foundation. Sort of like you can't draw manga well without background in realistic anatomy, you probably won't get a really good remix without at least some basis in classical composition.
I don't think he was saying that in a negative light. He was more pointing out how it takes a certain ear and skill to be able to take a complex melody and simplify it while still having it sound good.
Which is also very true, even as an painter. A master of traditional, realistic paintings would have a very hard time simplifying his or other's works as well as a cartoonist would.
I guess he said its simpler because usually remixes have almost the same and simplified chord progression and the drumbeats that makes people go bounce but i dont know im not an expert in these kind of stuffs
I think one problem with the concept of this video is that these remixes aren't being made by the best artists in the genre, because those people are either working on originals or remixing more recent tracks. Making a full song out of a famous classic is a very novice idea and is something that respected producers might only indulge in for a couple hours as a fun exercise.
I enjoy the fur elise remix because it has some cool ideas and I like the oldschool vibe. But that song has the marks of a novice all over it. If it had been remixed by someone like teminite or virtual riot then they probably would've been more impressed.
Mr. Fufu Cudlypoops first of all, I'd love to hear a Virtual Riot remix of Fur Elise. Second, if I'm not mistaken Klutch has really improved his sound design (I recently heard a remix of San Holo done by him and I remember it being really really good). I definitely think that someone could do some really cool stuff with backgrounds in both the classical and electronic/dubstep scenes.
@@graham_lively1732 fantastic mixes between classical and edm definitely exist. Just check out dream recall by frequent, one of the best pieces of bass music (and imo music in general) ever composed. For a more straightforward example check out the mob by RIOT.
Eddy:“She’s wearing headphones while playin an instrument Who does that?”
Davie504:
Davie504 plays electric bass... So it's okay... Somehow.
It's because he needs to hear the recorded drum tracks.
Putting them on loudspeaker just messes up the recording of the bass tracks.
Two set had to do it too in Davie's video.

Drummers:hello
Honestly only kinda liked the last one when eddy started playing along
We need more Twoset "remixes" of remixes
I think they should try older remixes. The modern ones...suffer from the same issue we see all round, the further we go further, the more lacking in talent and background the individuals are. There are, out there, some pretty amazing remixes made in the 90s, early to mid 2000's. Post 2014...it kinda devolved into a musical paste of incongruent fappery.
@@aserta all the talented people are making good music instead of ruining classics, have u thought about that
Yes
Not a fan of hardstyle but interesting to hear about 4:30 from purely classical musicians - the 30+ seconds of filler is actually for DJs to use to transition from the current track to the next one (often called an 'Extended Mix', but sometimes releases don't have a 'Radio Mix' so it's the only version available), the point is to introduce the themes/timbres of the upcoming track to create a more musical transition. Glad you included (a cover of :( ) Tiesto's Adagio For Strings, one of the better Trance/Classical mashups. I would've loved to hear your opinions on Wolfgang Gartner's "5th Symphony" too, it's actually really well written and uses essentially klangfarbenmelodie in the 'drop', with the synths playing around with the melodic shape. One that isn't a "classical remix" but more 'completely original classical-like themes implemented within an electronic context' is Wolfgang Gartner's "Fire Power" (1m extended mix intro, i.e. music starts after 1m), if you're a classical musician that wants to hear musicially clever and well produced dance music this is the one I'd recommend.
Paragraphs!😨 But side note: I love your Porter Robinson Shelter cover, really beautiful.

i did, and i also noticed how fucked up her arm rotation was
Could be a mirrored picture, happens a lot
Niki Allen it’s the right shoulder but the video if you turn yourself to her position it’s the right shoulder
yeonjunsblackwife Which means it’s the wrong shoulder.... it should be the left shoulder, not the right
Yi懿 Li I’ve seen this picture a lot of times though, and it always looks this way
9:07 bro can we get a full version tho I need this
There was a part where Eddy mentions that there might be parts of these type of remixes that DJs might appreciate that classical musicians can't since it's a different art form. It would be cool if you guys did a video with Andrew Huag to give an insight on other forms of music. Id love to see what he tells you guys and see your reaction to being thrown into different worlds of music.

When you started playing along, you legit elevated that remix by like a factor of 10.

_laughs in Violin Charades_
They're smart and creative, they're passionate about what they do, they pay attention to their followers' suggestions. I'm pretty sure they will never run out of ideas.
As someone that loves classical and EDM, I really wish this grew into a style of its own where live orchestral concerts are backed with a DJ that understands classical music but adds a modern twist to it all.
Also, terribly saddened that didn’t review the dubstep version of “In the Hall of the Mountain King.” That piece was so lit.
There’s an electronic arena show touring Australia at the moment that does exactly that, it’s an orchestra with a DJ
Oh you’ll love apashe
Also I agree, this is something I want to do with my music but there’s such a large gap in the two styles of music all the way down to the arrangement of the song I have no idea how to connect them, I’m also not a good composer despite being a good producer 💀
My pump it up and ddr heart (and feets) really wants them to hear those remixes. They were lit
I love when Eddy joined in! That’s what made the remix worth listening to!!!
I think a good indicator that your remix is fire is that a classical musician wants to play along with it.
Brett and Eddy when the bass dropped in the Fur Elise remix is me when I'm listening to music or watching a chill video and an ad comes on.
I am a fan of both EDM and classical so I'm pretty comfortable with the melding of the 2 genres.
Of course the best way to hear this, is to have what you did at 8:49. The beat and synth instrumental in the background with a live instrument taking front stage. Sounded amazing
Love you guys. Really. As has been posted, we NEED a full version of Bach remix with you guys adding the solo part. And while you're at it, give an ear to "Sensation White 2003 anthem" which is an electronic take on Mozart's Requiem ;) You might like it as well as the Bach.
Being a violinist myself watching these guys play makes me feel like I should be using a sponge and a rubber band again.

I loved the last one, but when Eddy started to play. I don't know why, but it fits so so well!
Im late to the party, but daaaaaayum! It was amazing when Eddie started playing in the last piece. Yiu guys really need to do some mash-up with pop/house/hiphop and classical music. Like your BTS covers forexample.. So cool!

Brett is a *_purebred_* classical musician.
This video was definitely Eddy’s idea. I can just see him getting all excited about it and I bet Brett was like ok bro whatever.
as a piano student in a small house instruments can be really loud to practice on, so if you have a pair of noise blocking headphones, you can still hear the instrument but weaker, and it can really help your hearing..

HahahaHhahaha exactly what I just did
I really liked how the last remix worked great with Eddy slotting in to play the actual melody on violin. The other pieces didn’t feel like they could do that.
DJ Tiesto - Adagio for strings radio edit is my favorite. Not the one with the so called “violin”. This song was actually what re-sparked my interest in classical music again (decades ago when this remix was released). Now I can’t imagine life without classical music anymore.
