words cannot express how excited i’ve been for this to be released ever since i heard about it when “Brother” was released (which i’ve listened to an unhealthy amount of times on loop) i’m pretty sure this will turn into something i listen to everyday

What do you mean about hero name and his smile? Was that a song that got deleted?
Every time I listen to Brother, my brain wants to replace one, just one, of the “smoke fills the lungs like a disease” with “hope fills the heart like a disease” because that just feels like the sort of thing that would happen in a song like that. And also, you know, cause it’s sad.
This is unparalleled! More character albums need to be released - they make some of the BEST story songs. I'll be looping this for the next forever.
I didn't realize that Red Means I Love You was Madds as well. I had heard that song long before I heard Brother, which is the one that made me look up the rest of the album, and was shocked when I saw it was from this. Nothing from this album has dissapointed!
I thought Brother was going to be my favorite with The Red Means I Love You as a close second, but Child of Ashes is so so hauntingly beautiful. I love it. It feels super emotional to me even tho it's short.

I’ve literally listened to this album at least a dozen times on loop this week, yet it’s only now that I realized this was a character album for My Hero Academia and now I can immediately picture the characters for each song.
This reminds me of like- a musical soundtrack, I love it!

LITTLE BIG BOY
This just sounds like it should be in a musical
ok I am aware that this is a mha album, but. the cover art made me go absolutely batshit insane! so I made a story to go along with it.
the two characters are Eden and Lith. Eden, with the white hair, is nonbinary and uses he/him pronouns. He’s ambitious, naturally talented, the Perfect one everyone loves-with a bit of a mischievous side. he tends to get tunnel vision and steps on others to get what he wants. He’s obsessed with perfection, and gets especially distant and rude when he’s focused. Lith, with the dark hair, is much quieter, the pessimist of the two. He’s very sensitive to rejection, and gets tunnel vision when he’s upset. Defensive, protective, and never feels good enough.
The two are extremely close friends, and probably a little in love but shit’s complicated.
The city they live in is ruled by two rival groups, the Rings and the Angels. They’re constantly fighting for leadership and territory. Eden grew up with the Rings, who are very chaotic and focused on pleasure. You get power by being well-liked. Drugs, alcohol, whatever. Eden is climbing the ranks. Lith, on the other hand, was taken in at a young age by the Angels after being abandoned, and trained as a weapon. the Angels are powerful. Their territory is safe, if you obey. They’re smart. They’re organized. They’re ruthless. Lith has never been quite like them, but they’re the only family he’s known. As a teenager, he was sent to the Rings territory undercover. With Eden, he’s been rediscovering freedom and inching away from the Angels, but.
and that’s where the album starts! As Eden gets more and more intense in his attempts to climb the ranks of the Rings, Lith gets bitter. Eden’s getting distant, snappy, and self-destructive. Lith calls him out on this, but he knows he won’t listen. Eden snaps back, saying Lith is just jealous, which is kind of right. Lith doesn’t want Eden’s popularity or recognition, but he wishes he had his confidence. While everything has always come easy to him, Lith has had to work for scraps. He’s sick of Eden’s shadow, sick of having to run to keep up, and sick of being left behind.They part angry and hurt.
Scotchtape and Cellophane is them both reminiscing on the past, before Eden got so obsessed with power in the Rings. if you look closely at the polaroids you can see them and that makes me cry. They miss each other. they miss loving each other.
Shaken and upset by his fight with Eden, Lith returns to the Angels to report. They encourage his fears, rejection sensitivity, obsessive tendencies and remind him that they’re the only ones who haven’t left him. They are the only family he has ever known, and with his one friend gone, he gives in. He trains as a killer, and the Angels praise him. This is what he’s good at.

while Lith descends into madness, Eden copes. He drinks, flirts, brags. Forget Lith, forget that he’s been in love with him for years. Maybe they reunite and have a homoerotic fight idk
I had some trouble working in the last couple songs, namely Brother. I thought at first Lith and Eden might be brothers, but again that TRMILY/Ambrosia art seems. uh not so brotherly. god i hope not
but again, i analyzed the cover art. there’s a ring in the dust, and it again connects to child of ashes.
Lith remembers being found by the Angels, and wonders how it’s come to this. He doubts, for a moment, going through with his plan (which is probably to fucking kill Eden), recognizing the manipulation of the Angels, but he doesn’t feel like he has a choice. This is all he knows.
But as he thinks about the day the Angels found them, he has another memory, long suppressed. An older brother, giving him a gold ring and telling him to wait there. He’ll come back. waiting for hours, clutching that ring, scared to death. He was just a kid.
He looks at the ring. He hasn’t taken it off. On it, there’s an engraved sigil, one he’s seen burned into walls. The symbol of the Rings.
The confrontation. Lith goes into the Rings territory and finally confronts both Eden and his brother. His brother tells their story-their parents are Angels, but he wanted something different. He was sick of the shadows. He killed their parents, ran away, and left Lith with the Angels. Soon, he became the mastermind of the Rings.
The Angels knew Lith’s parents were murdered. But it helped manipulate him if he thought he was abandoned. they did NOT know what the brother later achieved.
Lith has a bit of a breakdown! his entire life, his entire motivation, has been a lie.
Eden is a bit of a bitch. But he doesn’t like this. Lith’s brother raises his blade to keep Lith quiet, and Eden acts quicker.
Realizing all thats happened, they know they cant go back. so… they run. im not good at endings but they decide to try again. also eden loses an eye in the fight or something idk i wrote this in an hour

I've been listening to this album since last year. Such a clever way to connect the songs with the same art pieces while keeping them separated simultaneously.

I relate to most of the songs but "Little big boy" hit hard in my heart. I really kin Bakugou. The feeling of never being enough and no matter how hard you try there you always feel like someone is before you. Trying to be the best so I can earn the love from my parents and everyone around me. Try to not show emotion bc I have my hole life bein told that it's week to cry and that no one cares about what you feel. Only about what you are doing.
I love how every single song is telling a story, I can imagine the characters singing, their facial expressions, the feelings they're feeling. It's astounding how well you wrote these
the fucking emotional attachment I’ve formed to reach- i don’t think i’ve ever heard a song that captures the feeling of working so hard for something you want so bad, just to be left in the dust and told that you’re trying too hard like this
This album was incredible and I couldn't stop smiling throughout the duration of listening to it. It was such an instant serotonin boost and it was incredible. You're such a talented singer and this album is a masterpiece- thank you for finally releasing it to us, the wait was completely worth it

The anime is definitely worth watching :D It's really good food for thought and the characters are all so good! (Except the purple grape guy, nobody likes him, you'll know why when you see him)

I'm honestly kind of confused if Hawk in the Night is sung by his mother or the commission. On one hand, there is a lot of guilt tripping involved that seems up the Comission would say. On the other hand, there are a lot of endearments and encouragement to commit violence that doesn't seem Comission approved if you know what I mean.
The lyrics are also great. A mix of warped affection (or maybe misguided) and blatant guilt tripping that contrast so well to tone of the song, which almost reminds me of a happy lullaby.
