Former No-1 ranked player Simona Halep tested positive for a banned drug substance at the 2022 US Open and, thereafter, was provisionally suspended by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (IITA). Subsequently, she was also ruled out of the Australian Open even after her vehement denial of knowingly taking any illegal substance.
Following the provisional suspension that she was slammed with, Simona became ineligible to compete in or attend any sanctioned event.
Given her professionalism and expertise, it was quite difficult for many to believe that an A-list tennis player like Simona would be involved in a doping incident.
While it looks like this might be the end of the road for Simona, there might just be a ray of hope for her too!

Itâs criminal to keep such a gifted tennis player from playing, which at the same time is denying millions of fans across the world of witnessing her talent, if something has been mislabelled then the fault lies with the manufacturer of that product, not the person who has unwittingly consumed this substance.

@@TennisTalkOfficial I think if they find solid proof of wrong doing she should be but til now it seems some sort of contamination. I believe that can be the case here since there is not sign of her doing it in the past and the benefit of doing it at this point of his career is very little. So why to risk all the hard work and successful carrier?

Patrick was not her coach at the time. She has also been charged with an additional ban for her biological passport meaning that she has been doping a long time.
