    I love what you are doing for the older mountain bikes. I’m retro fitting an old Cannondale Delta 600 with some cool new stuff. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.

    Good things! Rigid, steel, fat tire, flat pedal, Shimano, and single-speed

    Rigid MTB are so universal and can be built to take on almost anything but it is hard to build a perfect bike to handle all kinds of trails ...... Quick tip sometimes it's cheaper to buy a whole bike then just the part you need

    Good to see my stomping ground of Epping Forest featured! Give me a shout if you fancy a tour of the trails and more importantly, the tea huts! I do have a 26" bike with a front derailleur!

      Is this open to anyone to show up? Might bring my old Stumpy or Zaskar for a run out.

    Awesome ! All of my rides are 90's hardtails except an 80's Canadian made Tech Nova and a 2008 Kona Kaboom, yet they are both hardtails too. all 26'ers.

    I switched a few of my vintage bikes to bmx bars. My back needs a more upright ride than the low, long reach of those 90s mtbs.

    Hello, thank you very much for sharing such a splendid work, I loved the video. I have a 1992 rockhopper and I am restoring it, I want to put some ground control tires, I would like to put 2.35 but I don't know if the width will fit the chainstays and the fork. What size do you recommend, 2.10 or 2.35? Thank you very much and sorry for my English language, I write from Spain and I translate with Google translator. a cordial greeting

    Good call on the handlebars. 👍🏽 Maybe the Ritchey Kyote bar will serve you better?

    I have a rockhopper but it is a 1984 version so, it has 100/130 axel spacing and rim brakes. It lends itself best to a single speed. I really want an advent x drive train. The reason I haven't bought one yet is I am hoping they get so popular that Microshift decides to make a silver version. I live in Arizona and black is not a good choice because on the Sun.

    As you talk about how to buy parts - I’d love to learn more about your garage of tools. I’m starting to build up some bikes but find that I’m always in need of this or that tool. Any guidance on what you think is necessary and what is extra would be awesome. Much thanks for the inspiration and awesome videos. - Sam from San Francisco

    For what reason are you changing the wide bars

    • @2NDLIFEBIKES
      @2NDLIFEBIKES  Před 4 měsíci

      I built it to be comfortable across long distances but wide bars are way too aggressive.
      On trails no problem, this bike excels. But more narrow bars will increase your rider height and put less pressure on your back/arms.
      I want to make a video talking more about geometry in retro bikes and how to adapt them for different terrains so if you have any more questions let me know
