@Careful Icarus are u talking about the "fans" who are basically mainstream who only like their "Hits" and never listen to SP's demos and b-sides and deep cuts on their records?? 😂😹😂
one of the best bands ever. Defined my 20s. Now when I'm feeling blue and SP song comes on the radio I just feel billy shinning his black light supernova, to all those who comment about him getting old, get used to it we're all getting old, at least SP did it, if all you can observe is him aging then your not listening. Shine on Billy your the greatest! (if you want love you must be love)
Well put. Bill! As I get older, I can only laugh at people who make fun of older ppl. My great, great uncle just turned 105 last May and he can tell you about the day in 1929 when the stock market crashed! One of my patients just turned 107, he is the most humbling and wonderful person to be around. You can't get experience without getting aged.
Blacklight Supernova. I dig that. He had glow in the dark stars on his strat the first time I saw him For the encores He walked to the edge of the stage and stood on the monitor, played most of the song "drown" with one foot on it, anchoring him to solo better, at the same time they had a flood light (a spotlight? ) With a purple bulb - suppose blacklight? Coz the stars glowed and reflected out over the Colliseum. Such a powerful song and image and I've yet to ever see it again, in person or on bootleg vhs or what have you. I've seen eddie vedder (often) milking it similarly, using the back of his guitar as a mirror to reflect the spotlight back into the crowd when they do wishlist... But hey. We know Billy did it first.
It is called an Ebow. It uses a magnetic field that reacts with the pickups on the guitar to create sustain. It can only be used on one string at a time.
Wow, the chemistry between the band members is just incredible. The camaraderie, the easy banter, the energy. This clearly isn't just Billy Corgan and Friends, no siree
looks like EbBbBbGBbD tuning on the right side,,it def. plays those fingerings that way just looking at it - and not too easy to play esp. muting the Bb's when/as needed
How gutted would you be if you joined SP just before a tour. You: "Hi Billy, what's the set look like, wanted to get a headstart"..Billy:" Oh, great, here's what you need to learn before the first gig"...You: "Billy...........there's *800* fucking songs here?!!!!!! *fml* "
i have always been a fan. jumped on the bandwagon as soon as i could. but look at those guns on billy! and then is that plumber's... this might be his fat elvis phase
14:10 I've always wondered how he makes that guitar squeak in a few seconds around 14:14. Anyone know? This is a better look at it then a big stage but I still can't tell
Pretty sure hes got a ton of drive and gain going,.. when he mutes the strings for those split seconds it's just ear piercing feedback going from all the distortion and depending on the angle of the guitar and whatnot itll sound a little different each time. As long as hes playing it won't come through.
Not 100% as Looked at it quickly but as he sides up the neck...think he hits a harmonic on the 12th fret and then mutes quickly as he slides back up to the first fret...
That’s specifically was just feedback bleeding thru his signal or Jeff, but he normally hits a harmonic back in the day, now he doesn’t rly care. I wanna say harmonic on the the 2nd or third fret low e string from what I’ve seen.
I can't believe they did there it goes! I didn't discover that until the recent rerelease. I don't know why Mike Byrne switched up the drums so much though. I mean.. the original is simple but fits the song.
There are other songs I listen to more... but honestly... Mayonnaise is probably their best song ever... It's really tough to decide.. so many greats... but yeah... Mayonnaise edges out in the end. But can anyone name one great sing since Stand Inside Your Lkve? I'm still looking for it...
Mayonnaise was written by billy and James Iha as well as Soma two of the few songs James Iha wrote during his time with them because we all know who the driver of that band is and was !!!
So this is what Billy and the Dopplegangers. Blonde bass babe, Asiatic.guitarist and well jimmys' stunt double isnt all that close but he keeps time adequately. We know his kit is level because drool is running out both sides of his mouth. Mouth drool is the best drum riser level check. Probably getting minimum wage
Long time listener but I can't help but be a lil upset that the OG crew couldn't keep it together. I understand Corgan was the main writer of the music but fuk. Corgan looked so much better on stage with James,Darcy and Jimmy. Times change and its freaking sucks.
The best Smashing Pumpkins cover band ever. They even got Billy Corgan to sing for them.
Transforming The Bear hilarious, they should name this band"The Smashing Dumplings" lmao 😂
Transforming The Bear thats probaly the coolest thing theyll ever do
@ I don't really miss D'arcy
@Careful Icarus are u talking about the "fans" who are basically mainstream who only like their "Hits" and never listen to SP's demos and b-sides and deep cuts on their records?? 😂😹😂
It’s a shame they only write Smashing Pumpkins lite music now
0:00 There It Goes
6:03 Plume
10:05 Mayonaise
What a discovery Mike Byrne is. The complete drummer, in the pocket, tasteful in his musicality, love listening to him.
Do you know his Bearcubbin' Project/ Band?
@@archibaldikowski3646 no thanx for the heads up I'll check them out.
Props to Mike Byrne for 1) Being young and awesome and doing great work on Oceania; 2) Having about as minimal of a kit as one could have.
"How's everybody doing?" Crowd: Good, Good! Billy: Terrible.
It's so funny watching these vip shows. it's like so awkward like a school band taking stage.
@Jay Sharp but it's great. Just some real dudes no bs

Cutest bass player ever.......
Wasn't expecting "There It Goes". Cheesy and classy. Mike was probably still in the womb then.
Not even.
Fantastic VIP perf, pwoppa rare songs that really SP fans would know and love. This is excellent.
Mayonnaise was right on just like the recording. Great set up... amazing considering they are set up in a hotel lobby.
Belly Corgan
Mean but funny...jeje
Diet... treadmill.... and testosterone shots... would fix Billy right up and put him on top of things.
Troll
poor guy
That's the best VFW hall-style mix I've ever heard.
there it goes
Wow, the chemistry between the band members is just incredible. The camaraderie, the easy banter, the energy. This clearly isn't just Billy Corgan and Friends, no siree
Hahahah
Billy looks like the bad guy in despicable me
Wish I was in that room. This is gold.
When billy says . He can still sing like he used too. You gotta look at this as proof
which Billy?
Xyu from shows this year, shows he still can
Absolutely.
this looks like one of the most awkward gigs ever
Love that drummer
This and soma were my favorite songs of SD. Great performance !
I love this band
PLUME!!
Love how they have to do VIP gigs so they play an obscure B side rather than the big hits.
Plume is a fucking tune, glad to see they finally resurrected it :D
Wow his voice hasn't changed much... if at all.
Yeah. It’s a little less gritty on the intense notes but other than that
I always forget the name of the first song they play here. But I've never really cared for it until this performance. Thanks for uploading.
looks like EbBbBbGBbD tuning on the right side,,it def. plays those fingerings that way just looking at it - and not too easy to play esp. muting the Bb's when/as needed
Nicole needs to still play bass for them
Nice Red Fang shirt!
These guys cover Smashing Pumpkins pretty good.
What an original and funny comment
Like watching Brandon
mayonaise 20 years ago! the song still on of my favorites!!
Wow! The crowd is wild! Very rowdy!
7:12 Billy's moon! 😃
Red Fang! Portland represented!
Wasn't expecting "There It Goes". Cheesy and classy. Mike was probably still in the womb the .
@Jay Sharp probably in 1993
I want Jeff's dope Gibson SG!
Billy looks like my gradpa. But he still being the best!
Love the Placebo profile pic
Oh that Mayo Sustaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain
Cool. I've seen James Iha using that a couple times too, but I never knew what it was... Thanks!
James Iha wrote that song along with Soma probably the reason he uses it in concerts
Any three songs?
Cherub Rock, Mayonnaise, Zero
How gutted would you be if you joined SP just before a tour. You: "Hi Billy, what's the set look like, wanted to get a headstart"..Billy:" Oh, great, here's what you need to learn before the first gig"...You: "Billy...........there's *800* fucking songs here?!!!!!! *fml* "
Fantastic performance -- and it should be noted that Miss Fiorentino is so damn cute.
Beautiful day for the rest of my life 🎉😂❤
i have always been a fan. jumped on the bandwagon as soon as i could. but look at those guns on billy! and then is that plumber's... this might be his fat elvis phase
This is an early Pumpkins song from, like, 1989.
14:10 I've always wondered how he makes that guitar squeak in a few seconds around 14:14. Anyone know? This is a better look at it then a big stage but I still can't tell

El Sol, whoops that was Zwan. I mean Loki Cat. Whoops, Jimmy Chamberlin Complex.
A Song For A Son from tear garden
Also United States from zeitgeist
Quasar?
Matthew Van Bueren
Or the entirety of Oceania really!
Mayonnaise was written by billy and James Iha as well as Soma two of the few songs James Iha wrote during his time with them because we all know who the driver of that band is and was !!!
Still appreciate Mike’s drumming.
plume sounds sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm okay now. I WAS ill for a little while but I feel much better now. 4 years later.
Plume is my favourite. And I'm from Australia 😃
wow nice baby drum set totally the same sound as jimmy
this crowd is DEAD.
has more energy then the band, holy hell.
So this is what Billy and the Dopplegangers. Blonde bass babe, Asiatic.guitarist and well jimmys' stunt double isnt all that close but he keeps time adequately. Sadshechangedherfacetosomeoneelse.itssad.shewasbeautiful
They need a girl in the band on bass. It was part of the feel and look of the band
I remember them- Brandon now brad wanted to go on tour with them in the 80's
Long time listener but I can't help but be a lil upset that the OG crew couldn't keep it together. I understand Corgan was the main writer of the music but fuk. Corgan looked so much better on stage with James,Darcy and Jimmy. Times change and its freaking sucks.
Could anybody please tell me what that thingy, Billy uses on his first solo? It seems to vibrate the guitar strings to create the sound...
Rodrigo it’s called a sustainer Rodrigo from 6 years ago
Como se llama la segunda cancion
Rename band smashed pumpkins
Whats the name of the first song ?!
There It Goes 😉🤘🏻
great !!
thanks!
Where ever this was you were one very lucky audience. I love billy
Squeeze the Charmin all you want just dont hold the Mayo.
Mayonnaise!!!
There it goes, plume, mayonaise,
sorry but this VIP series is very bizarre... very tense, they look uncomfortable, sad... i still don't get it...
plume 6:08
Can someone tell me what the 2nd song in the set is called?
Plume - it's on Picses Iscariot
Ohh the 1988 pumpkins songs

The studio works wonders, all these people are average players!

name of songs plz ?
This isn't the Smashing Pumpkins it's billy's new band "The Smashing Dumplings"
cuales son los nombres de las canciones?
There it Goes. PLUME. mayonaisse.
corgan is kinda of reminding me of brando in his later years. once a genius now just ridiculous
definitely. billy has gotta be one of the most awkward frontmen in rock and roll history.
name of the first song, and album???
"There it goes" off Machina
come on it's a fat double, it's not billy corgan, of course the voice is the same
Soul Core, it's called There it Goes. Is a song from the pre-gish era. You should try the original, it's fucking better!!
The eternal moody teenager FS
as in they have done much more awkward?
billy has tummy!!! :D
I like music. HI Billy.
She's cute.
When james and darcy left the band, everything went to shit
Looks like someone just told billy his dog died.
