Sadly Mike passed two days ago. I will miss him dearly.
That's what I thought I saw on FB. So I came here sadly that's addiction for you. RIP Mike sorry you lost your friend 😢
This is heartbreaking news, Ed. 💔. Thank you for being so kind to him and showing him love.
No way! He's in a better place for sure, that guy had a big soul.
Sorry ed.
Man, I've only just found this video. I read your comment before but it only hit me halfway through. Probably because of the joy and life springing from Mike on screen. Much love brother, that must be hard.
I’m sitting in a Mexican restaurant with Mike right now in Conshohocken Pa. We are reading the comments and he is smiling ear to ear. We love y’all.
❤️
Love from Finland ❤️ cheering on you mike
Awesome job ed. Happy holidays to you all.👍👍👍✌✌✌🤘🤘🤘
It's gonna be a bright new year, Mike! My best to you both!
Good stuff ED! Happy holidays ED /MIKE /EVERY1
I cried for this man, he deserved the world with how positive he was even through his circumstances. Rest in peace, king, you were a good one ❤️🙏
❤
Update. I’ve been spending almost every day with Mike since the video. He is a genuine guy who sincerely wants to better his life. Yesterday I took him to get his drivers license replacement ID. The plan is to get Mike into treatment the day after Christmas. He wants to see his mom on Christmas Day. Then he is ready for the next chapter of his life. I’ll keep you posted.
Epic
Thank you and God bless both of you
💪🏻❤️
This is incredible..I can't wait to be in the position do things like this!
Ed you're a great guy,hi from the uk 🇬🇧
This is by far one of the best projects I ever worked on. Team Mike all the way!
I was suspicious when he said Brent and kaboom it was actually you
Great job ! Unreal !
It's cool you guys did this
God Bless you Brent
You and me both kid!
Update: Sadly Mike passed away two weeks ago. He couldn’t get clean and succumbed to his addiction. He tried like hell but it just didn’t happen. We love you Mike and thank you Ed for trying. -His Cousin.
Hope we can trust u on this then im deeply Sorry if not...
You're not trolling are you? Be honest here Pal
@@nyrradrolyat13 no.
Im so sorry for your loss. Rest in Peace
Did Mike ever get a doctor to give him Soboxone? I got addicted and Soboxone saved me. I was in a bad way. I don't understand why everyone who is addicted to opiates doesn't try it.
As someone who's in recovery (6 years clean) and was homeless for quite a while, this video truly meant a lot to me.. hit home. You're a good dude Ed.. God's work you're doing.
@S. M.G. 777 winters were always the toughest.. I was in north Jersey during that time.. Be well and safe my friend 🙏🏻
I was at Whitesands with Mike about 2 years ago, and that’s how I had heard about your CZcams channel. I remember how grateful he was for you helping him get into a place like that. He was apart of our small morning group in there, one word I could use to describe him is authentic. I’m sad to hear about his passing, but you doing all that for him is not for nothing. The world needs more people like you, people with integrity. This video shows what that looks like.
Lost a dear friend in Mike. Thanks for this.
Man mikes story is so similar to mine. Even when I was a full blown heroin addict for over 7 years I wouldn't go an steal. I still had SOME morals left in me. The only reason I ended up getting off the street an clean for 6 years now is because of some awesome people like Ed. They gave me a purpose, they gave me hope and most of all they gave the support system that I desperately needed. So happy that I'm almost 7 years clean now, have my own house, car and great job. If I can do it, anyone can do it you just have to want it more then anything else.
Oh because you "not stealing" some how makes you a better person
Stay in the light, don't stray back there, the past is the past, stay focused on now and stay safe and stay away from those people who are always wanting to see others down, God is more powerful than anything else, I'm sending you more blessings ❤️🙏👍 Never, no matter what, stop moving forward! 👍
This is me now. I've never been that way and j refuse to do it now.
And I'll never steal for my fix. I just can't bring myself to do it. It's the only thing I have left thats mine. That it hasn't taken from me. The thing that keeps reminding me I'm still human
@@SageO6PathzGON Hey I hope you receive all the support you need, you know that extra push to motivate you to stay clean, hope you find reasons to help you get out of that place, and if you've made it out, stay out, you have to ask him to help you and he will, don't loose hope.
@@taylorjohnson9321 Yes it makes him a better person. No matter what your circumstances are, if you steal, you deserve all the a** whooping.
Clicked expecting one of your “never ending story” vids and left never wanting it to end. Inspiring stuff. Unreal.
Bartle doo?
Hahaha same here!!
right on
Exactly 😅

4 months later and I hope Mike is on the right track to getting himself back in life. Man to man, I love you Ed. Been a subscriber for 12 years and you've brought so much joy to my life personally and many others. You're as real as they come.
That's so solid of you Ed. The world needs more people like you bro. Nobody thinks about homeless people, and if they do they usually condemn them due to addiction. Addiction doesn't make you any less of a person and it sure doesn't mean you don't deserve a warm bed, meal or shower. Anyways now I'm rambling. But Ed, that's solid of you bro.
Man, I teared up when he got to see his moms. He seems like a really good dude. Ed you're a blessing from god bro. Team Mike!
Same. 🙏
I hated heroin up until the guy I was dating pulled it out of his pocket. I went to rehab in 2015, relapsed a few times since then but I’ve been clean for over a year now! This is an awesome video!!
Keep goin!
@@edbassmaster absolutely!! thank you 🙏🏼
Stay strong Amy! You can do it!
Mike looks like a million bucks! And when he saw his moms, he looked like a million more! Bless you Ed and Brent! THIS is what makes the world go round. Very inspiring!
Hey Ed, thank you so much for doing this for Mike, I hope he did end up getting additional help after Christmas, assuming he was ready for it. I have seen the horrors of addiction in people I care about, it's a fight with demons that few understand if they're never able to witness it first hand. I lost one of my closest friends just a few years back to opiates, and she was one of the kindest, most caring and loving people I've ever met or known in my life. The world was a better place with her in it.
It's a battle addicts fight every day, even when they're clean, and now Fentanyl is tragically taking their lives at a faster pace than ever seen before. Addicts are real people, who often want nothing more than to be free of their addiction. It's always so heartbreaking when society seems to give up on them, when they're fighting physical and psychological dependency, with often very limited resources.
I have no doubt that what you have done for Mike already has meant the world to him, and his mother. I hope more good news is on the horizon, assuming he was ready to take the big leap towards getting clean, and hopefully back on his feet. If not, then I hope that day comes for him soon.
It's really awesome to read this from you man. I was first introduced to your content when you were on Northern Lion's live stream years and years ago, and then my kids would watch your channel a lot.
You said it well. People have no idea what it’s like. Although the only way forward for us is to realize we need and want help, others offering compassion, understanding and support..respect…can make such a difference in that realization and the struggle. The smallest gesture can have a huge impact on someone’s life. The road is long and always uncertain, but it’s obtainable. Addiction is simply hell on earth for those who live through it and also for those who witness it. People don’t understand that although it begins as a series of choices..there comes a point where the dependence is far greater than ourselves just to function. It’s no longer a choice but a matter of survival. I believe that if we educate ourselves as a society we would be so much better equipped to fight this battle..as Ed is doing in helping Mike. Not everyone can make this kind of difference but having understanding would make a huge difference.
@@sayitaintsl0w yes, absolutely.
Well said my friend
Damn Ed, you’re such a blessing dude . You’ve flipped this guys world over for the better and met a great friend . God bless you man
Mike’s got a good head on his shoulders. Once he can detox and go into recovery, there’s nothing stopping him from getting a solid full-time job, good roof over his head and a family to share it with. I know you can do it Mike.
Does detox mean you need to go through pain to get better, or go on methadone or suboxone to stay not sick? I've just always wondered if thats the way out, or is there another way.
@@Rico-in-Barrie yeah man detox can be really painful. Think of the worst flu you've ever had...aches and pains, no appetite, throwing up, diarrhea, no sleep. It can be rough. Those other things can help but the dope HAS to be out of your system first, the only thing you can take right away is methadone because it doesn't have the shit in it that literally tears the drugs out of your system which is very painful if you take something like Suboxone too early
@@alex_123more with Methadone or Suboxone, it works to get rod of the feeling of being dope sick. Problem with that is you never get off something. Coming off those makes people dope sick as well. It's like replacing one with another
@@Rico-in-Barrie that's true but what I'm saying is you can take Suboxone"too early" and get VERY sick. But, you're exactly right, it's just replacing one with another
@@Rico-in-Barrie detoxing can kill you if not done safely. It's insane what it does to you. Physically and mentally
Ed, I never thought I would shed a tear watching one of your videos. GOD bless you ed. Good luck to your new freind.
Well I've shed a tear of laughter watching him before but this one is different
As a recovering heroin/fentanyl addict this video really hit home. I wish Mike nothing but the best and I hope he can get the help he needs to get into recovery and stay clean. Please keep us updated!
I love that Mike isn't a victim. He is the real deal. Thanks Ed, Brent and Mike. Always good to see the good in humanity.
You’re a wonderful human being for doing this Ed, I wish there were more people like you.
Big hugs for Mike! He did look like a million bucks with his new clothes and haircut haha. So awesome of you guys to help him out and bring him to see his mom. Hope he's doing even better now!
Rest In Peace Mike. Didn’t know you but felt close to you through your time with Ed. Feels like losing a part of the family.
People can effect the heck out of you if you let them. In good and bad ways.
Some of the modt pure and kindest people I've met happened to be drug addicts. It truly fucking sucks that they went that route.
Agreed may his soul rest in bliss ❤🙏
Mike is an intelligent, well spoken man, once he's off the dope, he could literally do anything. His personality screams success. I want to see him get his knee fixed too - it looks painful to walk.
I said the same thing, he can do whatever he wants to do. He also said the knee doesn’t hurt, it just doesn’t extend.
@@edbassmaster - well would you look at that, his knee doesn't hurt! ;)
@@pavelhanek9790 Yes he can. He can do whatever he wants once he passes the difficult recovery phase. Good people often don't make it, but it's worth a shot to guide Mike's life in a positive direction. If you didn't see the potential in Mike then you better take a look in the mirror at yourself. I hope you see potential there, at least.
@@markh9675 JUST LOOK AT IT!!!
I've known Mike since we were both young men (online, but we spoke daily for years as we were and still will be gaming buddies). He's always been a character. Lovable, hardworking, outspoken, intelligent, crafty, and honest. Unfortunately we both fell victim to similar circumstance at around similar times. I cannot wait to see him clean and happy and successful. Like we've always discussed; he just needs to get away from that city. If I had the room, I'd let him stay with me in NJ. Oh, and in case he reads this he won't recognize this username. It's John from down Tha shore brother lol
This is amazing Ed. I'm a recovering addict myself. I've been off hard drugs for 15 years now. It's a tough struggle but you have to want it! I LOVE what you did here. I wish someone could/would help me like you did this man.
Kudos
Good job man. One day at a time. ❤️👍

Even after 15 years it's a struggle? Or are you saying it was a struggle to get off at the start? Sorry always wonder about that, is it like a battle you fight everyday for the rest of your life, or do you get over it after some years?

Fantastic Ed...huh...Skippy...! 👏🏼

Man what a bunch of HUMBLENESS…… man man man this What the world needs …….
Damn. Funny as hell and with a heart of pure gold. This world needs more people like you. RIP to Mike. Another good soul lost to an illness, not a character flaw. Bless you Ed for your kindness and blessed remain those out there who have been taken from us, and who are still out there in the struggle.
Such a positive vibe with this guy. I pray that he can get back on his feet. This world would be a better place if more people were like Mike.
This season is not about what you're going to get... it's about giving someone things that's needed. You guys are golden❣️ Many more need to follow this example of humanity. Merry Christmas y'all 😘
I was a homeless heroin addict from Portland Maine, to LA, and back again. I was hooked for 10 years. It took me 7 years before I felt in any way normal and didn't want to use. My wife, her family, and my music and youtube music videos keep me grounded. What a wonderful thing to do for someone. Thanks for making this video!
Ed, I respect you even more from watching this on a whole different level. I truly wish the best for Mike, he seems such a genuine beautiful character and deserves to be happy like all of us.
Ed your not just funny you’ve got a heart of gold mate and your genuine, and what you done for him is incredible and it’s very sad Mike passed away, some people don’t understand problems in life and homelessness or addiction. My FULL RESPECT to mr bassmaster 🤝🏻
Prayers for Mike and you, too, Ed. I'm coming up on 4 years sobriety and it's been the best 4 years of my life!
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; And that which he hath given will he pay him again.”

God bless you guys. Especially for going all the way with getting him clean and out of that environment.
You're awesome Ed! We'll pray for Mike to make it through treatment, and to turn his life around with your help. God bless you both.
Awesome job Ed, I'm sure mike appreciates you soooo much, when your down it seems as though your friends you thought were friends tend to abandon you when you down, you basically end up all on your own and no one wants to even talk to you, they actually will try to avoid you, so this video is very inspirational, I hope it will spark a flame in others to help people out that are down. God bless both of you.
There is nothing more rewarding than Helping Others, outstanding story! We respond to at least one overdose everyday, too many have lost their lives to this opioid epidemic. 100,000 in the US this year. Keeping Mike in our thoughts and prayers! 🙏🏻💯
Mike seems like a genuinely nice guy! I hope he gets into recovery and succeeds on getting off the streets.
Heart warming video.
I remember seeing Mike in that first prank video and taking to him, thinking he seemed real nice and cool. It’s awesome to see you help him. I hope he wants it as much as we all want it for him.
This is the best Ed..this is what life Is all about. Much love for Mike, you can do anything you want in life! Definitely would like to see more of this 💙

Ed, this was sooop heartwarming, so encouraging to see such kindness by you & your buddy! I was feeding very down about the condition of the world today, but watching this really warmed my heart! God bless you!
God Ed you had me crying. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Mike. You are a gem!!!!! Thank you so much.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Mike’s smile and demeanour tells me that he was waiting for this opportunity to turn his life around , the proof is him saying he never had anybody do something similar for him, I hope this ignites a spark of hope in his soul , god bless Ed !
Amazing stuff guys! ♥♥
Ed, I know you are an Aquarian. Aquarians are the humanitarians of the zodiac. I'm not surprised the best of you is coming out. You have a big, big heart. You're using social media in the best ways possible. To change people's lives for the better, and making us laugh our assrs off when depressed. You bring me to tears of laughter when I'm feeling down. Farting in Times Square and in elevators with Jack Vale and your crew. My husband died 6 months ago. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, Paratrooper 173rd Airborne Brigade, combat infantry. He was wild and fun when I met him in my teens. He had stories that made me laugh as much as I do when I watch you in action. He saved my life literally in 2010 after not seeing him for many years. He became addicted to opiates in Vietnam. Mark was clean and sober when we reunited in 2010. He volunteered in Palo Alto to coach other war veterans who had PTSD after fighting in combat. He married me because I had breast cancer, and no health insurance. I had the benefits of his health insurance from the VA. I got surgery and am healed. He relapsed after I got well. But he died sober. Cancer took him, and the drugs given to him made him feel better until he passed. Thank you for helping people in need. Thank you for making me laugh and laugh while I heal after Mark's death. You're a healthy prescription, a lovable guy. I work in media also, but not the kind that spirals people down. If I were younger, I'd make prank fart videos too, in a warmer climate. I spent 4 months in Philly, and was born in the east . I'm Stuck in Oregon now, Mark wanted to live here before he checked out. Making the most of it now, and will start my CZcams channel this year. More power to you. Monna Winn Pavlac
Absolutely love this and what you're doing for him. What a genuinely lovely thing to do for someone.
Mike is no longer the grey person nobody sees. Best of luck with your recovery.
This probably made as many people cry in a good way as your humor makes people laugh. You're on the right side of life. All the best and keep it up!
Thank you for doing this, Ed. Imagine what the world could be like if we all cared this much.
Love and strength for your journey Mike. Ed you are legendary for doing this. So many CZcams streamers could do this but choose themselves over others.
The love, care and compassion you showed this man is truly moving. It had probably been a long time since someone had really stopped and SEEN him, and asked how he was doing and what he needed. If the world just had a tad
More empathy like you show in this video it would be a far better place.
I'm one month off fentanyl and this touched me a lot especially when he saw his mom❤ been watching you since the beginning Ed over a decade ago I think, you've always made me smile.. Keep fighting brother I’m here 4 you💪💪💪

Stick with it you got this😘
Ed, I, like thousands maybe millions of people, have been a huge fan of all of your characters, skits & pranks over the past ten years since I first saw your “Would ya just look at that!!??….” videos back in about 2011 or so. Your now famous phrase “would you just look at it” became a comment that my industrial maintenance mechanic and electrician friends would say over our radios to indicate something truly unique, odd, or just to publicly encourage others to go see a potential issue before jumping to conclusions as to what was actually happening in the steel mill I worked at back then.
Your videos and characters have been a source of good, clean entertainment for me and my immediate and extended family for many years.
I say all of that to ultimately say that, with this one video, you have opened up a whole new aspect of yourself, your channel and your many beloved characters that make daily life just a little better for people that could use a good laugh. It is clear that Mike appreciates what you have done for him and apparently will continue to do for him in the future. Thank you for posting this video and sharing the human aspect of Mike’s story with everyone that views this.
It is so important that the average “housed person” on the street better understand the plight of the average homeless person on the street and Mike is a great example of a guy that his circumstances took a tough turn and he was trying to get relief from the incredible pain of what is a very common issue for millions of people that struggle with kidney or gall stones. They are incredibly painful, I know from experience. So awesome to see all you and Brent did for Mike on this day and hopefully he will be successful in beating his addiction and getting back to a safer and more stable life!
Well said! Although Mike is certainly not the "average homeless person on the street." He is actually an exception to the rule. He wound up homeless through a series of mistakes that anyone could make, and he really wants something better for himself. Most homeless choose homelessness because they don't want to cope with a life full of responsibilities; Homelessness is an easy way out for them, and they justify it by developing a hatred for societal norms and the systems created by a civilized society. This only exacerbates their mental state of disassociation with modern societal structure. They wind up on a crusade to give the middle finger to society (all the "normal" people who work hard for a living) and double and triple down on their convictions that their homelessness is a better way of life than conforming to the expectations of modern society. Definitely a deep, spiraled hole to fall into.
You are a real humanitarian. Mike is so deserving. Wishing him the best he can be.
You are awesome Ed!!!
Mike is such a sweetheart, a gentle soul, i'm so glad you guys kept in touch with him, it's a true saying "never judge a book by the cover " wishing you a good life Mike , you truly deserve it, love from Ireland 🍀
As someone who had addiction issues, only thing turned me around was seeing myself look like a skeleton in the mirror. And my mother's hurt eyes. I hope you pull through this soon my brother. And thanks for doing this Ed
How are you doing now? My heart goes out to you. Prayers.
@@thankyou62 I'm doing very well now my friend. Thank you :)
@@happypanda8320 Never forget though, it's always easy to slip right back into addiction. Every day is a conscious decision to stay away from relapse. Say no to anything that might tempt you back in.
Opioids are the worst.
the problem with addiction is people question will their life be better if they quit or is life better when they have a substance to be happy? only they can answer that question for themselves, but it's important to not be dependent on a substance to keep you happy and to try give life another chance without being dependent. A substance can be a tool to bring you happiness, but don't let this tool ruin your life or control you. You always have to be the person in control of the substance and be able to say no and have the discipline to go without it. I am 2 years sober from addiction
Ed, just when I thought I couldn't enjoy your content any more than I already did, you do this. Awesome man, glad you found him and did what you could for him. You can only imagine what goes through his head every day he is on the streets, and to have 1 bright day will shed light on all the others ahead. Its called hope, you gave it to him today. This is the most meaningful video I've seen in a long time. People have become so overly-concerned with pranks and drama that they've lost a sense of humanity; hopefully this video will help viewers rediscover it. Best of luck to Mike and great job Ed!
