This reminds me when you get killed in the Quantum of solace game the gunbarrel appears in Bond's angle and the camera turns towards the enemy who took the killing shot on you. Best death animation ever....
Fun fact: when The Man With The Golden Gun released in theaters, the gun barrel sequence had blue dots & a white gun barrel instead of the signature white dots & white gun barrel. The blue dots + white gun barrel sequence for the 1974 Christmas movie is still on some VHS & DVD copies of the movie today!
Say what you will about "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", but to me, it will always remain as one of the most underrated entries in the series. I also think that the opening gunbarrel sequence for it kicks ass!
License to kill is the PERFECT gunbarrel: music is the best, barrel design is great, the blood dribble is good, the background picture tone and colour is very high quality, the smoke from the gun is good and dalton had the best walk he had the swagger and speed nailed, also his pose is pretty cool and unique too.
For me, the best James Bond gunbarrell (and music) will always be the one in "GoldenEye" (1995): pefect electronic tunes to present the new generation of storylines (post "cold war").
OHMSS is by far my personal favorite entry & as mentioned on many forums ,the most natural human-like bond as most noted with Traceys death. Us OHMSS fans are in our exclusive club!

That’s called Pan & Scan. Most people have 4:3 TVs back in the day so they used the technique to accommodate the display by dragging the frame that are in focus across the screen.
My top 5 favorite gunbarrels (all choices based on music): 1. For Your Eyes Only 2. Licence to Kill 3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service 4. You Only Live Twice 5. The World is Not Enough
I remember and was waiting to hear that submarine - type sound at the beginning gun barrel sequence in Dr. No. It was in my head since I first heard it in the summer of 1962 ? at the Capitol Theatre in Lancaster, PA
Speaking as a fellow (but much younger) Lancastrian, thanks for posting this. I enjoy anecdotes that fill out the life of the world around me I inhabit every day!
Oh that brings back memories you used the good old VHS format which is not the best in terms of quality but I remember deeply the one from The Spy Who Loved Me where the dots seem to slow down before going forward again then when Roger Moore walked at some point the gun barrel seem to go backward I must have watched this cassette over 20 times I was obsessed with it and still am apparently!! The first time that I watched this movie on dvd I was so used to that weird back and forth that I was like «Hey wait why doesn't it slow down» and realised it was the VHS format that distorted it.. Anyway thanks for the childhoods memories man
Connery - Really Funny, Scottish But The Graphics need to be better Lazbeny - Its Good, It only had 1 episode but its a lost episode Moore - Smart, Cool And Kinda Silly Dalton - Like A Swat Bond And KICKS THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT Brosnan - Awesome music And good kicking action Craig - Too Hyper And Fast, but good movie and its just the intro and gunbarrel that they need to fix
the best gunbarrel is A VIEW TO A KILL. that version of the james bond theme is the best. classic sound. the lazenby version is anti james bond. counterculture was big in 1969.
My Opions: Best Simmons Gunbarrel: Dr No Best Connery Gunbarrel: Thunderball Best Lazenby Gunbarrel: On His Magisty's Secret Service (Obviously) Best Moore Gunbarrel: For Your Eyes Only Best Dalton Gunbarrel: The Living Daylights Best Brosnen Gunbarrel: The World Is Not Enough
PIERCE AND DALTON HAD THE MOST DEADLY GUN SHOOTS. EVERYONE ELSE MOVES TO SLOW. THEY BOTH AND INCLUDING OMSS HAVE THE BEST WALK. FYEO HAD THE BEST MUSIC.
I think Pierce has the best look for Bond but Daniel has the best attitude, combined it would be perfect..like if Pierce was the Hard ass...unstoppable
Amazing!!! The entry of golden eye, showed the dawn of an entirely new and stylish modern bond! Pierce Brosnan was the best!! And casino royale was still more stunning than the brosnan entries'..
@RandyAKing yeah, but it wasn't the usual one, where the gunbarrel was the first scene, and he didn't walk and then turn to shoot. he did in Quantum of solace, but it was at the end lol
23 from the Eon series (22 released, Skyfall comes out soon) 2 from separate franchises (the 60's Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again) And 1 musical documentary called Never Say Never.... but that's a different JB ;) lol
God Pierce Brosnan just has that walk in and shoot motion so perfect..It just feels so right
Truth
This reminds me when you get killed in the Quantum of solace game the gunbarrel appears in Bond's angle and the camera turns towards the enemy who took the killing shot on you. Best death animation ever....
@Archer Tristan people give a damn, but they don’t give a shit.
It was in the casino Royale movie as well

The blue dots + white gun barrel sequence for the 1974 Christmas movie is still on some VHS & DVD copies of the movie today!
That is if the DVD ver. Is the Special Edition
It’s not a “Christmas movie”
Dalton has the most natural walk, turn and fire.
The best James Bond, Period
@@hammalamiri12 for me its broznan
nah dalton did not have natural walk lol he was like leaning forward on second one just like michael jackson in smooth criminal
And still retains a final Bond like pose, unlike Brosnans who is good but too stiff..
I agree. His walk, turn and fire is almost cat-like.
Say what you will about "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", but to me, it will always remain as one of the most underrated entries in the series. I also think that the opening gunbarrel sequence for it kicks ass!
Film was great gun barrel sequence sucked. Horrible editing and ear rape music it's just not good
+Alec Sheerin Don't forget the blasted "treadmill" effect
+Xanatos21 I agree with you. The gunbarrel sequence for OHMSS is one of my favorites
Lazenby's pose is quite stylish. Pretty cool imo
Xanatos21 it's the best film
Timothy Daltons was direct and perfect
Astronamy 101 yes!
License to kill is the PERFECT gunbarrel:

@@PsychoMetalKid Facts. Straight facts 💯
Timothy Dalton's gunbarrels were my favorite.
Yeah. It's very good. I like the poster of the film, "the living daylights".
Yes. His action was the best. Agile. Lithe. Musically I like Goldfinger and OHMSS THE BEST.
For me, the best James Bond gunbarrell (and music) will always be the one in "GoldenEye" (1995): pefect electronic tunes to present the new generation of storylines (post "cold war").
Word.
Love them all but man goldeneye has everything you need for bond that film is just fantastic great actor for bond honestly.
@Crazy94dk what about it? Lol
7:45 got me good
2:47 Diamonds Are Forever (1971)
The man with the golden gun is my personal favorite gun barrel
that gunshot sound is the best

4:40 For You Eyes Only (1981)
6:28 my favorite one
Pierce: BADASS
Daniel: PERFECTION
You must have skipped over the Timothy Dalton gunbarrels
Wow...amazing seeing these old washed out 4:3 pan and Scan versions
I totally agree. I'd love to watch old Bond movies in 4:3 again.
The spy who loved me (1977)
Yeah, my favorite
Bit slow for me, and don't like the way he holds the gun.
George Lazenby's was the smoothest and seemed the quickest to the draw.
Second would brosnan and craig, there turns were pretty quick
3:34 my favorite!!
I prefer that one of moores to his later one, but the Live and Let Die variant more cos the music is so cool.
I don't know why, but after seeing all these really cool James Bond movies, I always feel like I should dress up as James Bond myself ;D
6:48 I've always watched 007 on TV, I really like the way the animation of the gun barrel glides smoothly within the 4:3 aspect ratio of the screen.
That’s called Pan & Scan. Most people have 4:3 TVs back in the day so they used the technique to accommodate the display by dragging the frame that are in focus across the screen.
0:51 From Russia With Love (1963)
3:54 The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
3:31 The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)
Ah the VHS Gunbarrels, the good old days
You only live twice is the most ones I like out of all the James Bond movies
You know it's time for a couple of hours of good fun with a Bond film. Something missing from today's movies.
I love Diamonds Are Forever's gunbarrel
Pierce Brosnan version the best perfect elegant gunbarrel walk of all 007 actors
Best Gun barrel sequence would have to be "For your eyes only."
They didn't pay Connery enough to do his own gunbarrels
My top 5 favorite gunbarrels (all choices based on music):
1. For Your Eyes Only
2. Licence to Kill
3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
4. You Only Live Twice
5. The World is Not Enough
My favourite is Licence to kill by far.

on 'the spy who loved me the gun barrel like stops and goes again like nothing happened. It's at 3:53
VHS 4:3 :/
@@onniexd7395 VHS is kool. Has lots of classic movies. Just has some flaws that shows it's age.
If I were to direct a new modern or 90s vibe Bond film, I’d instruct the actor to shoot like Dalton.
the best gunbarrel is A VIEW TO A KILL. that version of the james bond theme is the best. classic sound. the lazenby version is anti james bond. counterculture was big in 1969.
The theme sounds like a looney tunes music but it's still good
That chap wearing the hat does not look nor move like Sean Connery
That's Bob Simmons, Connery's Stuntman
Sean did one on his own in the end tho
Sean Connery start with his own gun barrel in Thunderball.
Gunbarrel 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I also appreciate that you have the format on a 4:3 display
Wish they would’ve kept Craig’s CR gun barrel for his later 007 entries.

@vivaSuburbia I just always assumed it wasn't the gun barrel itself but rather the person's eyes or in some way the blood got in the person's eyesight
