Yunnan has a kind of sweet bamboo shoots, which can be dirctly eaten raw. It tastes fresh and crisp, and has a slightly sweetness to it. Before my brother went to school, I cut all the bamboo shoots and killed a chicken. These bamboo shoots make delicious dishes, including stir-fries, cold dishes and bamboo shoot soups!

모자가 베트남식이라 찾아봤더니 아니나다를까 운남지역이 베트남과 국경지대에 있다네요 그래서 열대지방 식재료가 나는듯해요 ㅎㅎ

小時候我阿嬤也常煮筍子給我吃，印象中一年冬天，她煮了筍湯給我們小孩子當下午的點心，真確的味道忘記了，但那暖心的感受縱使過了四十年，仍烙印在腦海裡。

Imagine how hard her grandmother and grandfather worked to build such an amazing farmstead. They obviously live and eat well because they passed on such sincere and passionate traditions and traits to later generations. This is why family is important.
I think everyone in her village join to create that amazing farmstead, not just her family.

@@Doopidap it's unnecessary to replant bamboo. The mother plant sends out shoots to grow into more bamboo, spreads fast. She couldn't put a dent in the bamboo if she took enough for the whole village.
@@Evaille Often, people will take one shoot from each group of bamboo that the mother plant makes. One here, one there, so the whole grove grows evenly. If the shoots are not taken, they will die, or overcrowd other shoots and die.
I'm so envious. Where I am, it costs $4 a pound for those shoots.

Not eating the jackfruit seeds? They're delicious with beef or fish, or even just mashed with mustard oil. I love them more than the fruit itself.

Actually there is a dish with just the chicken feet called Feng Zhua or Phoenix Claws which has a lot of sauce and is steamed or braised. Tastes like any other part of the chicken with skin and cartilage.
