You guys ever put up trusses with out a crane? If so there any videos ?
More POV

"Be careful, Pa" is the same exact thing I say to my dad. I've been working construction with my dad for 16 years and counting. Him being over 60 years old and climbs along the rafters/trusses and along the top plate of walls still trips me out.
Mad love for you working with your pops. There's not much of that anymore.
is it just me or does that crane operator deserve an honorable mention? dude was on point!
Your Pops is fearless!! I love watching your videos. I was a framer back in the 90's. Than I moved onto becoming a Door Hanger
The feeling….. the feeling is addictive, if you’re crazy enough😂 gotta have some kind of love for this to do it every day. Btw from a framer to another, I appreciate you.
The balance these dudes have is insane and I like the fact that even though matt has great balance he still used an harness. Keep up the good wood bro.
It's a lot easier than you think, I was always the high guy, while setting trusses but I've be 40-60 feet high on a 2 or 3 story on a 12/12 I never used harness truss day was my fav
@@King_reretard you are probably right. Still I wouldn't take a chance. especially as a parent.
@@samtour8545 It's not easy for everyone, I never could get used to walking on top of walls, hats off to the dudes that have no balance issues, sometimes you have to be logical, I became the ground guy when it got over a certain height.
Its not about the balance it's if your confident enough to walk
Shits pretty scary man especially when ur walking on a 2x4
I could do it on the floor no problem but once ur 10 feet up its not the same
They are on 2x6 walls which is way easier than 2x4.
Tell your bud to put a harness on.
Hard to fall but when you do it's hard to get up.
Bro, your pops is a beast! I grew up without a dad so mad respect from the start. Also, keep these POV vids going bro! Subscribed within the first 10 secs of POV action.
Your Dad is seriously talented up there. Nicely done.
9:10 nice catch pops. 😳
This was awesome to watch come together. The perspective was well worth the wait and I would love to see more of it. Your pop stands on trusses like he’s on solid ground.
can I just say that you had one smooth crane operator! Ive had a few up here in idaho that go bull in a china shop on ya n have tossed trusses over on me! That guy made ya barely have to adjust any of those as ya was setting em. Good work, clean day of flying trusses there!
He’s the best! We’ve worked with him many many times, only use him.
He has an awesome crew all the way across the board
What a set up. Crain brings each truss with blocks pre nailed. Not everyone has it so easy.
Dude, guy on the peaks is a GOAT. Awesome video.
Pops got game!
It g.o.a.t
A goat? this guy is a dumb ass . I got him with my eyes closed
I am in awe of what you guys do while balancing on a narrow beam and skilfully fitting those trusses.Well done lads and Merry Christmas.
Wow, POV is scary. Gives me a new appreciation of your courage and balance!
Can I like the video twice? Been waiting for this one. I even threw it up on the big TV to get the full affect. Awesome video
Pop must be proud of ya kid! I framed with mine for 22 years. Now my 22 year old son is with me for 3 years. He's got alot too learn but w're kickin ass together. Be well, stay safe and frame on!
It’s cold here in Canada. Haha lucky to have that sun.
Few minutes in, and loving the POV already. Need more of this. 👍👍
Louie is one of the best crane operators. I build in the same area and know Louie well.
Doing this video from your point of view is pretty sweet!! I'd definitely like to see some more videos shot like this! Bang On!!🔨📐
I know that feeling. just AWESOME being up there.
That look-out framing is something else. We just finished one up with 2x10 look-out with 2ft overhang
Love your videos. I love that you show the steps and the teamwork it takes to get this stuff done. Q is getting better at many things...
What a marvelous treat for christmas day. Thank you! Nice long shots. I was completely into it.
Good job Q!!!! Let’s see more!!
I cant believe you guys caught that block while balancing. And Pa one handed. Crazy i cant wait to get to your guys level of skill
I love watching these videos, always picking up something new from them. Keep up the good work
“one of the best building channels” 🙏🏻
Humble brag. 🤣
MattBangsWood this may sound like a stupid question, but does it require college to get the job you have?
You mean the best
@@Crmsn-qk2io I noticed your question was unanswered. Matt mentioned in another vid that he dropped out of highschool and went into framing.
Old framer here, we never layed out where the trusses go on the top plate, 24” OC meant 22 7/16” blocks and the blocks automatically put them on layout, the only place where we marked on the plates is if there was a “special” meaning there was a need to put truss in a spot not on layout becouse of something such as a fireplace or skylight or something , oh and we did it all up top, no scaffolding or harness , but sometimes I do wish I had them !
When I read "POV" I don't usually think of construction...
Oh gosh... LOL
But I bet there's wood involved🤣
@@cashhabitz137 dude 😂😂😂😂😂
Low hanging fruit bro 🤣
💀
Nice to have a scissor lift to mark out the plates, I found after the years went by I started doing more detailing before I stood the wall, need to take an extra moment and know the roof however it is nice when a plan comes together
That nail gun sound is so satisfying to listen to on the daily lol 😆😌
yeah, the reload actually looks and sounds like a gun or something 😂
Enjoyed this perspective! More like this please! 👍🏻📐🔨
Slick operation. Looks a thing of beauty 👌👌👌 merry Christmas matt to you, your family and the rest of the gang. Looking forward to more vlogs in 2020 💪😎👍👍👍
Great vid Matt keep em coming
demonstrates our carpenter hand eye coordination. Throwing things to each other all the time.
You guys are nuts !, my knees started shaking just watching you! you def earn your money be safe.
Some of those shots of your Dad gave me vertigo, LOL Love these first person shooter vids tho. Keep it up You guys Rock, Merry Christmas! :)
Good thing for the cooler weather. I could watch this all day without breaking a sweat.
That was damn good crane operating. And Q has come along nicely xxx
Almost done watching. Passes are on a string! Fun watch🤘
Freaking awesome views man...loved it!...I was cringing every time you looked up over to your pop(I thought I heard u say)...man has some big kahunas being up there....I learned today more than ever..bang on!
I just want to say that you sir are the man,
Love the POV vids! Very good day!
I subscribed just for u an your guys ability to catch and throw blocks. Wow
Love it man!! Keep up the good work
I love your channel.
I wanna bring the American house style here to Brazil.
Thanks!
Hi Matt’, cool to put the first nails of the bridging while it’s on the ground, did the “ rafter profile “ bracing show that bridging in the rafter co. Shop drawings too ‘along with the placement location of the purlins, sway bracing etc cause it also serves as good spacing as well ‘
That old Hitachi reminds me of when I would be up there physically doing the work too ‘
These videos are so satisfying to watch I don't anything like this but like they make sense
I really like the POV videos. Keep up the great work. 👍🏻😎
that was great to see your point of view Keep up the great videos
hats off to the crane operator ,very smooth.
More first person POV!!! Super great video keep it up!
Awesome bro , thank you for sharing your experiences diffently helpful and knowledgeable bro . Cant wait for more.
Bang on Brother! 🤘
My fav so far and they are all exciting Super awesome perspective
Matt, Merry Christmas to you, your crew and your family...Bang on!
Same to you! Merry Christmas!! 🎁
Great idea with POV
I wish the camera didn’t have like convex lense in it because I’m sure your wall was straight but in some angles it made the Top plate look bowed, but again I’m sure it was straight. Good framing
Good job boys!! Hell yeah!
This is awesome!! I focus on filming pov style in the Netherlands while placing fences!
Nothing like watching some true pros at their craft. Hands like Jerry Rice btw.
Awesome stuff man
Man I really enjoy these videos... I also got into framing with my father, I’m 20 now and I love every second I spend on the job site. It’s kinda odd that I get home from a day of framing and look forward to then watching you guys frame on my free time. I might buy a go pro and start filming my work day as well, any chance you could sauce your POV filming setup? Keep bangin brother
Dias06 8-4:30 most days??
@Dias06 7 am to 7 pm day in day out stick framing
Nice to see that you had a lift and used to do to your layout, as apose to walking along that plate. Granted I know it's the 'norm' in USA to do that.
Like how you work safe and the concern for pop
I love what you are doing keep up the good work.
You should always use the inside to clime up a scaffold so you don’t pull it over
i use the same hitachi stik nailer. i can only use one clip in a two clip gun or they tend to jam up on me. mine needs a hook real bad
Outstanding job 👍!
On my framing crew we have these things called trusslox, used them for about a year and they work great. No need to nail 22 3/8 blocks anymore
Is it a screw? Or?
I’ll check them out after work! Only downside is we have to have perimeter nailing, so we have to have a ridge block there.
No different than trussloks, they are a plastic spreader bar. You just click on one end to the top cord of the truss and they click in place for your 24 inch on center layout. Really cuts down on the crane time
Great stuff. I think I’ll stick to my pitch roofs over trusses though 😁
Great upload! 💯
Nice job all.... Merry Christmas
Your crew's block-throwing is very impressive but I think I detected a couple edits in there too.
Q coming in clutch!!
Really like the POV. Also enjoying watching all the safety measures you guys are taking.
Did you comment on the day you won? I’ll get an email sent over to get your info, if so.
I did. Thanks again Matt!!
Wow nice job 👏👏!!!
The way you were squirreling around on one of your previous builds, I thought you were going to walk across that top plate! 😄
I would love to, unfortunately we’ve got people “watching”.. 👎
This video was dope bro🔥 keep them coming
like the pov really nice perspective thank you
Nice methodical rollout gentlemen! Don't forget to tip your crane operator for not killing anyone. :)
Man.. I haven't framed since my early 20s.. Now in my late 30s i want to get up there and do it again!
God bless you I like your good work
Really enjoy this POV. Helps me guide my dudes/dudettes during deployment. Although I gotta tell them to ignore your badass dad straddling unenforced trusses lol. Great system, and I agree, mark both sides. Did the trusses come with blocks preinstalled, or ground guys do that? Yall are awesome, thanks for sharing. - rando Seabee
The old man with the one handed catch damnn
That was fricken awesome content thanks for sharing my knees would definitely be knocking
Job well done . Get er done
Bang on!
Did you take the spring out of the safety on your gun? Like it better that way?
Hi Matt. Great video!! Merry Christmas to you and your family. Enjoy the day. Ray L
Same to you Ray! Merry Christmas! :)
Cool show glad I found it
Bro those catches tho so clean
Q goes down! Q goes down! Then pops right up and fires a precision toss of the block.
You guys are amazing. Learning so much from your professional work. Question for you...
When you are putting in the cross members on the trusses... you are nailing them in at an angle. If a person was to use pocket screws, would this also be okay or no?
You could, it would slow the process down quite a bit, but on a smaller job that was exposed it would make it look great!
The kids a damn good throw. 💪
Hey man I love the content, what action camera did you use for this video ? The quality is superb
To be young and fearless. Your pops is fucking crazy bad ass. And I do agree with you on being the best build channel!!!
Great job guys. Did the guy on the top of the apex have any fall protection at all???
