As a kid, I was so delighted with myself when I realized that he was Charlie. I was watching Dynasty, which I started watching at a bit too young and thought, "wait a minute!" I'm rewatching Dynasty right now and he''s the best.
How refreshing to hear of an actor who made family a priority and honored his wife, it seems to be a rare occurrence in Hollyweird.

@@ForeverCarrington I totally understand. I always tear up when I think of him. He seemed like a very humble upstanding kind of guy. I could have seen him as a great leader well not in this corrupted world. I think he was so precious.

I actually had the opportunity to work with Mr. Forsythe in the mid 90's. He was working on a documentary about horse jockey Bill Shoemaker while in Tulsa, Ok. He was the most kind, genuine and thoughtful person (not actor) that I have ever met - excluding my own dad. The picture of us is one of my most cherished memories of those days in the media business, RIP Mr. Forsythe... say 'hi' to my dad for me.

@@ForeverCarrington You are so welcome.... I worked with people like George Lindsay (Goober) Tom Poston, George Wendt (NORM!), Steve Allen, David Carradine (Kung Foo) and Colleen Dewhurst. Some were nice (Wendt was GREAT) most were aloof and sometimes rude. John Forsythe was an absolute 'Prince' of a gentleman - and very approachable to everyone. I too, wish you could have met him. He LOVED the 'Sport of Kings'!!!

I couldn't agree more. I loved John Forsythe for more than just his acting. Joan Collins and Linda Evans were so lucky they got to have kissing scenes with him on Dynasty.

Just discovered Bachelor Father I was born in 1957 so I just missed the show You can see his greatness in this series

A touching story I read:
In his latter years, he received a letter destined to another actor, I believe Burt Reynolds.
He kindly took the time to reply, saying that there was a slight error, and it was the house of John Forsythe.
The note was very kind, class act.

John Forsythe also starred in "To Rome, With Love" (1969-71) (w/Walter Brennan, Kay Medford, Joyce Menges, Susan Neher, Melanie Fullerton). (Always one of my favorites!)
I JUST BOUGHT THE FIRST SEASON AT WALMART, I have not seen it in years, my mother loved this show like Dallas. LOL I was 12 when it started. Brings me to tears because it brings back great memories. John was my grandfathers age too.
I hope you enjoy watching it. John is fabulous. The writing of the show deteriorates as it goes along, but he is wonderful throughout. The chemistry he has with Linda Evans is amazing.

The new "Dynasty"s Blake Carrington is an evil bastard and played by a bad actor, who dosen't do Blake Carrington justice..
Yeah it's like when a really great movie ends up having a cruddy sequel. The new Dynasty sucks. There's something missing and the actors try too hard to be classy and it's kind of bland.
Tried to watch the new Dynasty but it's 'nasty' and boring.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. He always treated Linda well. They were lifelong friends. George Hamilton is the actor who didn't want to do love scenes with her after she kissed Rock.
No he was not. John was a good actor not great but who cares.
John was not awful at all. He was awesome.
