I saw Al Fabet at the general store in Core City yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen animal hearts in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the organs and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
I did a stealth Dex build with an emphasis on bleeding feats. You wouldn't think knives are that dangerous until you stack five bleeds and eviscerate someone for insane amounts of damage. I was cutting down tchortlings in a single turn at the end of the game. Not to mention how OP the cut throat feat is when you can stun someone for three turns and cause absurd bleed damage that pretty much takes them out of the fight at the start. Melee is great.

Great video, I've had underrail for years now but was overwhelmed with all of the pressure on "optimizing" a build because I've never been very good at min/maxing. Your video really helped me want to give it another try, gonna follow the build you recommend. ggs

For all the DOM heads, yes I know versatility is a new player trap, that's why I'm trying to tell y'all to modify the build however you like. I think versatility showcases how open ended, free, and experimental a build can be. I AM LITERALLY JUST A GUY, IF YOU WANT A BASED BUILD THAN GO CHECK OUT EIDEN, MAKFAR, OR HARPERFAN7.
Was going to say I disagree but I checked for my [DOMINATING viable] 10 str, 8 dex, 18 int (3 for the rest) laser gun build and the effective gun skill was only a 2 point difference. I guess it's only good if you want to use multiple weapons or wear the commando belt
@@_jus_alexander_ yeah, my whole point of using it for new players is so that they can use both guns and melee so they experiment with the different guns for later play throughs. My ass got floored the day I realized you could burst fire with the rancor.

Favorite build has to be the MG/Shotgun tank, even more so when you find the MG42. Anything bunched up around mid range gets the BVVVT, anything too close gets the boomstick, anything else gets grenades.
@@ZyphateLeKabaajYeah it's a bit of a nightmare to pull off with a non-con build, slapping on t-steel armor and having a nice health buffer makes it way easier since you can let the enemy get in range before opening up and suppressing most of them. Refurbing the MG3-42 is also basically required, since it lets you get off 2 bursts per turn while still putting out a horrifying amount of lead. Only catch is there's literally not enough 7.62 in the game to run it at 100% for more than a dozen fights after you refurb it, so you definitely need a good shotgun/rifle to go with it.
One important thing worth adding that I only just figured out, the damage you take from neural overload scales with your int. To be clear, that means the higher your int score (once it's over 5), the higher the damage you take is, by a factor of 10% per point. I only found this out after reaching the last segment of the game with 3 will and 9 int. Still finished it, but my god, if you don't get psi enemies on the first turn and they manage to hit you with mental breakdown, you may as well just reload.

One of the best games Ive played, it takes certain mood and dedication to play thou, so havent touched it in couple years, but maybe with the new DLC I'll go down the rails again

Streaming through yt app on smart tv (samsung) and then moved to another room on my pc and using built in speakers on the display. I didn't try headphones (have to keep ears free for work) and it's probably easier to hear you on them.
Btw, I made a walking kitchen build, aka throwing knives but with heavy armor, 8 str, max dex, dump agi, will and per, 6 int and put the rest of the points in con
Based, throwing builds are actually op, I just wish I could hold more than 30 in a stack, cause that one feat that makes you throw 3 at a time chews through that shit
Oh yeah, and just as insurance against bots in the early game i Spec-D into psychokinesis, I'm not a 3 con 10 agi build so I don't need to bother with stealth and evasion, leaving points for them psi
One last thing, I have yet to test the build, I'm busy doing a jkk persuasion maxed pistol user and after that senator Armstrong's build I came up with, then it's time to test my walking kitchen

you can use any gear you do not meet the strength or skill requirements for but you will receive an accuracy penalty for weapons or an AP reduction for armor
@KaBaaj Great vid man helped a lot but I don't own the dlc and was wondering what you'd recommend to replace the temporal manipulation for the spear build? As I can use all the other stuff just not that so 15 pts spare. Oh and Lucas doesn't have a spear so what can I do there?
Thanks, and psychokinesis is pretty good, though I don’t know it as thoroughly as I really should, but it’s still pretty nutz with 2 different instant stuns and free electricity against bots. Thought control isn’t bad either, but it’s less effective when you’re not focusing your whole build around it, but enrage and fear can be extremely helpful for dealing with crowds. It all depends on how you play, I’d say go with PK since you can get some better utility with it.
Hey! I am hoping to play your Spear build! What do you craft for your equipment aside from the spear? I've only beaten Depot A using an SMG build making some acid resist leather armor, and GMS with a laminated leather armor before, but I see you don't take tailoring. How does the build deal with robots? What weapon do you use aside from spear for the versatility feat?
@@jjrap3 I personally don’t take tailoring because of a unique armor called “Rathound Regalia” that gives a +1 to strength as well as more movement points and movement speed similar to tabi boots, which I also use since they lower melee weapon AP cost by 1 point. With robots, once you start getting to the mid-game, your damage should be high enough to destroy most robots, as for industrial bots and the expedition bots, you should use a tungsten shock spear and combine expose weakness and EMP grenades/taser and you should be fine. Also assault rifle bursts do good against bots too. For the other weapon, I usually use assault rifles, i like the NF F2500 but that’s at the end of the game, or shotguns if I’m feelin like it. Aside from that, nades, Molotovs, and flashbangs are always good to have on you.
@ZyphateLeKabaaj update: about halfway through level 7, and I am enjoying this build WAAAAAY more than my first attempt at the game. May sneak a few points into tailoring to enable some armor crafting so I'm not so reliant on what's being sold. Other than that, i think you put together a fun pokey poke spear build

I'm playing a dom versatility build right now. 7 ap stunner shots are a hell of a drug.
I'd say for a newbie being able to use guns and grenade launchers even if you don't main them is a huge bonus

Thanks, and psychokinesis is pretty good, though I don’t know it as thoroughly as I really should, but it’s still pretty nutz with 2 different instant stuns and free electricity against bots. Thought control isn’t bad either, but it’s less effective when you’re not focusing your whole build around it, but enrage and fear can be extremely helpful for dealing with crowds. It all depends on how you play, I’d say go with PK since you can get some better utility with it.

Hey! I am hoping to play your Spear build! What do you craft for your equipment aside from the spear? I've only beaten Depot A using an SMG build making some acid resist leather armor, and GMS with a laminated leather armor before, but I see you don't take tailoring. How does the build deal with robots? What weapon do you use aside from spear for the versatility feat?
@@jjrap3 I personally don’t take tailoring because of a unique armor called “Rathound Regalia” that gives a +1 to strength as well as more movement points and movement speed similar to tabi boots, which I also use since they lower melee weapon AP cost by 1 point. With robots, once you start getting to the mid-game, your damage should be high enough to destroy most robots, as for industrial bots and the expedition bots, you should use a tungsten shock spear and combine expose weakness and EMP grenades/taser and you should be fine. Also assault rifle bursts do good against bots too. For the other weapon, I usually use assault rifles, i like the NF F2500 but that’s at the end of the game, or shotguns if I’m feelin like it. Aside from that, nades, Molotovs, and flashbangs are always good to have on you.

@ZyphateLeKabaaj update: about halfway through level 7, and I am enjoying this build WAAAAAY more than my first attempt at the game. May sneak a few points into tailoring to enable some armor crafting so I'm not so reliant on what's being sold. Other than that, i think you put together a fun pokey poke spear build
Great video bro. I would suggest re-uploading it though and fix the audio issue and maybe retitle it to include the fact that this is a beginner guide. Perhaps add in the new DLC content and how that changes builds? Good luck with the channel, I subbed.
