    Thanks for the insight!
Currently transitioning from my in house jr 2D art role at an indie studio into freelance 2d game art. The point about being on the same understanding with your art director was definitely a point of friction for me personally, mainly when the studio got really busy since our team was very small, with my art director having multiple roles outside of just my supervisor, found my expectations of my responsibilities are and what they actually were sliped more when they were busiest.

Thanks for the insight! There aren't enough experience stories and advice of being a concept artist, let alone from junior positions. I expect my first job would be a lot of mentoring and drawing what's asked of me. I think I ought to prepare my portfolio based on those types of work and not just my of character designs.

"Starfleet Captains... Err, I mean, Art Directors are like children. They want everything right now and they want it their way. But the secret is to give what they need, not what they want."
"Yeah, well. I told my AD I'd have this environment done in a day."
"How long would it really take?"
    "A day."
"Oh! You didn't tell him how long it would really take?!"
