I hope you are a teacher and using your talent to educate the youth of the world. You have a gift for comunicating information. This is the most complex puxxle I have done.
That's good that you got it finished. Someone posted a comment in my channel about the Vortex. I've got one now and I took it apart and put it back together two times. As soon as I have a chance to learn it properly, I'll post a video on it.
As you could see in the video it caused me some trouble as well, but since I made the video I have become more familiar with the quartet. The big thing about that part is to make sure one of the pieces you want to cross is over the corner of the stationary pieces. If it is not, you actually have to go backwards a step or two to get it into position to do so. If this still doesnt work, try assembling the whole thing, but starting with the opposite pieces putting them together first.
Around that time is the hardest part of the whole puzzle in my opinion. If you don't have a gap where you can see through, then you need to rotate the pieces a little to get it, but really the gap doesnt make that much of a difference, what you need to focus on is getting the Hanayama piece over the Q2 piece so you can engage them.
You have to push in at the center on all four sides at the same time...the trick is to get it lined up correctly first. I think the easiest way to get it is by leaving it on a table and then pushing it...if it doesnt work take it apart and try it again. Just like many things, they take practice before you can do them well.
Same! haha. Took me roughly 30-60 minutes to get it apart. I even randomly figured out how to put it into the neat little square right after. But now I can't get it back to the original position.
OK, I've had that problem myself a couple of times. Some people have reported that their pieces are named differently, so the hanayama stamp is on a different piece than it is on mine...but its an easy fix. When you start and you are putting the pieces together you just have to switch the pieces and start with a different piece, the rest of the puzzle goes together the same but it will sync up like they should.
i figured out how to separate this puzzle on my own, but i could not for the life of me figure out how to put it back together. Your step at 5:30 is where I was stuck, and I realized, my Quartet pieces doesn't have as big of a gap as the other pieces, so the angle required to connect it with the Q2 piece is basically impossible, once interlocked with the other pieces. I'm gonna have to try to bend it outwards a bit but it's not really budging right now :(
Yeah it can be quite a puzzle! I did this one before I got the Hanayama Chain, they are both level 6, but this one is much more challenging and took me quite longer than the chain.
Haha. Yeah give that one a go for sure. I have the Hanayama Cast Spiral...that is a level five and so is the Vortex, but the Vortex is much much harder IMO.
If you skip the middle part this is really easy. You start with all four pieces together...then fast forward the very end...and you're there. You don't have to do ANYTHING...AND...its back together. Perfect!
good explanation.Still a mind-bender for me tho. But really glad u also showed how to put it back together again. Most videos dont show that and for me that's sometimes the hardest part. Npw show me solution for the Medallion.
Well I'm glad you got it! :) Yeah, this one has been my favorite one. I was surprised to see that there wasn't a video posted for the new design though, so that's what got me to do one. However, I think the hardest hanayama puzzle for me to figure out and put back together was the hanayama vortex, not the quartet and the vortex is a level 5...I guess I just work better with square concepts lol!
my puzzle is totally stuck.....i did not look at your whole vid because i want to solve it myself but i cannot get any pieces to move...any suggestions?
Can you please be honest. Did you pull the ends apart to leave room to pass them through each other? My ends are about .5mm apart your yours looks considerable larger
No, I didn't alter the metal pieces in any way. What you see is what I did. The corners of each piece are like 1mm apart on my puzzle, I tried to measure it myself to be certain, but because of the angle I couldnt get my ruler in there very well. Sometimes slightly rotating a piece can make it go in better whereas if it was straight it seems like you'd have to force it.
Please reupload this video with a better quality, it is confusing, since you correct yourself sometimes and when you show what you do all I see is just some blurry stuff since the camera is so bad. We live in the age of mobile phones that make pro cameras envious so pleae, PLEASE do it again, and explaind step by step how to solve it and put it together !
Fucking A. I tried putting it back together, but got the order wrong somewhere. Now I have all four pieces intertwined and totally wuzzled up, and I can't get them back apart. I think I'm back at the starting position, but with mis-matching pieces paired together. It's a huge cluster and I've been trying to get them apart for a few days now. :P
OMG, 6.15 cant hanlde that .. o took me 1 day to solve it and now 3 days i was trying to get it back, so i decided to get some help.. but i cant solve that either ;D
I think this solution for putting the pieces back together at the end is overly complex. I tried for hours to get past the 7:21 mark and never did. It's difficult to see what's going on, and apparently it's more trouble than necessary to solve this. I found another solution to be easier (v=NWuHtZmiL7M) I do like how this video shows the "backwards swastika" solution though. It's cool how they all fit
True! That is frustrating. I wish explaining it wasnt so hard, looking back I think it would have been easier for me to use some nail polish and paint the pieces to tell them apart more easily.
Literally how I solved the Marble. Tossed it in my hand 2 or 3 times before I put it in my pocket to get on a bus, I look down and it's in pieces. Spent the rest of the ride trying to put it back together.
I hope you are a teacher and using your talent to educate the youth of the world. You have a gift for comunicating information. This is the most complex puxxle I have done.
This is the most clear solution to this i have seen on youtube.
thanks man! I learned how to put them back by watching your videos.
Level 6 indeed. Solving this is a remarkable feat. But even more impressive is the guy who invented this puzzle. Wow.
That's good that you got it finished. Someone posted a comment in my channel about the Vortex. I've got one now and I took it apart and put it back together two times. As soon as I have a chance to learn it properly, I'll post a video on it.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make another video that goes into detail on how to put it back together
Cool, I'm glad it helped. I thought about coloring the pieces, but I decided to name them.
As you could see in the video it caused me some trouble as well, but since I made the video I have become more familiar with the quartet. Hehe thanks for your compliment! My wife says the same thing. I do like teaching, I'm currently teaching English & Religion in Korea.
I figured this puzzle out in about half an hour.
I've spent over 4 hours, including watching several videos, and I can't put it back together.
Ur the best person on making vids like this. U made the solving the thing easy to fallow along thanks.
I'm glad it worked for you! It was a difficult puzzle for certain
I couldn't figure out how to get it apart.
My brother got it apart, but neither of us could get it back together.
i figured out how to separate this puzzle on my own, but i could not for the life of me figure out how to put it back together. I wonder how the manufacturer puts this puzzle together without scratching it. Mine is completely covered in dents.
dan it still took eme about 2 hours with this vid to take apart and put back together.. thanks though big help
Haha. Yeah give that one a go for sure. I have the Hanayama Cast Spiral...that is a level five and so is the Vortex, but the Vortex is much much harder IMO.
I'm sure once you get familiar with the quartet you'll have it apart and back together in an easy 5 minutes. Do your best! :)
If you skip the middle part this is really easy. You start with all four pieces together...then fast forward the very end...and you're there. You don't have to do ANYTHING...AND...its back together. Perfect!

thank you for the help. I already solved the Nut--Case and the Spiral by myself, but this one is definitely harder
the move after the 6:00 milestone baffles me. I'm pretty sure physics doesn't allow me to do what he did there.
Well I'm glad you got it! :) Yeah, this one has been my favorite one. I was surprised to see that there wasn't a video posted for the new design though, so that's what got me to do one. I just unlinked mine but when i did the semisquare and tryin' to separate them, they won't separate! What should i do mate?
Anyways they are new
Oldrich I feel your pain my friend
Can't follow the how to put it back together after you have Quartet and H2 in the middle and Hanayama and Q2 separate on the inside.
how do you get to the first stage
@hinatalover12332 At that time the two pieces laying horizontally are the H2 and Quartet
my puzzle is totally stuck.....i did not look at your whole vid because i want to solve it myself but i cannot get any pieces to move...any suggestions?
After watching this video, I'm more sure that i'll never get it
i did the thing to pout all 4 pieces together to form a cool square now i cant separate them pls help lol
Can you please be honest. Did you pull the ends apart to leave room to pass them through each other? My ends are about .5mm apart your yours looks considerable larger

I must agree... this soulution... while it works for you... is very confusing for us trying to follow it.
at 5:46 are the 2 pieces in the middle th hanayama pieces.
I have no idea how to put it back together still
aaaaah this is sooo stressfull!! i did everything but cant get it back together
Please reupload this video with a better quality, it is confusing, since you correct yourself sometimes and when you show what you do all I see is just some blurry stuff since the camera is so bad. We live in the age of mobile phones that make pro cameras envious so pleae, PLEASE do it again, and explaind step by step how to solve it and put it together !
i put it in the possition and it got back to the regular state
Thanks!
im stuck at 6.00 where the inner square is already perfect....
I put the quartet piece of the Q2 piece....how the hell?
its extremly crazy
Ci sono riuscita un po' guardando il video e un po' a caso!!
i done fucked up at the swastika part and made a really wierd z/2 kinda design that is extremely hard to fix
looks cool.. i have the Elk. :)
OMG, 6.15 cant hanlde that .. o took me 1 day to solve it and now 3 days i was trying to get it back, so i decided to get some help.. but i cant solve that either ;D
4:33 it is the boutis (please excuse my misspelling)
I did 2 but I fixed the 2 by 2
what i want is a tutorial on how to get it back together... seriously try and find it, i dare you
i can't put it back...
mine got screwed up
Where's my fucking torch!??
I think this solution for putting the pieces back together at the end is overly complex. I tried for hours to get past the 7:21 mark and never did. mine is stiffer than everyones
i get to the 'rest' part then i get stuck man i really dont like the quartet its too complicated..i much prefer the chain, its my favorite one
THIS PUZZLE IS DEMONIC!!! O.o
I couldn't keep up at all
thumbs up if you got stuck at the 3th part
wow....got it till 6:00 then i'm confused....very
this is so hard to follow when you keep saying the wrong piece and correcting yourself. holy shit.
True! That is frustrating. I wish explaining it wasnt so hard, looking back I think it would have been easier for me to use some nail polish and paint the pieces to tell them apart more easily.
4:41 nazi symbol lol
This solution is garbage. It's so overly confusing I got farther jingling them in my hand.
But isn't this true for many hanayama puzzles? lol
Literally how I solved the Marble. Tossed it in my hand 2 or 3 times before I put it in my pocket to get on a bus, I look down and it's in pieces. Spent the rest of the ride trying to put it back together.
Agreed.
makes no sence
junk puzzle. All other Hanayamas are elegant, smooth. This one is terrible. Just forget it.
I must agree... this soulution... while it works for you... is very confusing for us trying to follow it.
