  • Prague Visitor Pass is a brand new offer that should help you to save money, visit dozens of attractions, and move around the city with all tickets, even the public transport ones, on one card. That sounds like a good deal! Is it though? In this video, we will take a close look at this ultimate Prague travel pass of 2022.

    When I heard the Police Sirens in the background I thought they were coming to arrest Valerie for criticizing the Prague Visitor Pass :)
    Seriously though one of the joys of Prague is simply wandering around on foot and discovering its hidden alleys and arcades, coffee shops and architecture. No pass needed for that.

    Much better idea.... I'll just hire Valery for five days, and let her figure it all out! She is clearly one of Prague's finest guides, and would most certainly provide a very enriching visitor experience in Prague. Very well done video, Valery!

    Great video. If you're visiting a new city just try one attraction or maybe two a day as else you'll end up stressed. Visiting a city is about eating, walking, and stopping to smell the roses...

    Great analysis of the PVP! I always wonder why people include Zoo's on our tours. Our zebras here in Houston look much like zebras all over the world. Unless there is something rare and special in the Zoo, I would give it a miss or just stay home and go to your own zoo. What is not to be missed in Prague, and is not on the PVP, is an hour in a coffee shop watching people. You may even meet and talk to someone. In most cities, this is well worth the price of a cup of coffee and strudel. As always thanks for the great stuff.

    Excellent video. A great reminder of how many great places there are to see in Prague. One thing I will disagree with you, and you say this at the end anyway, each person decides how long to spend at a given location. For me 1-2 hours (you say 3 hours) would suffice at most of the places, with the Prague Castle as an exception because there are so many places there to visit (I would not miss the Lobkovicz Castle, but a first-time visitor wouldn’t know).
    Yet I get a feeling of overload when I try to see so many places. I just walk around, see how I feel, and hopefully talk to some people who speak English and ask them about life in Prague (or wherever I am). The human experience is very important to me. And paying extra for a guide who speaks English also helps the experience a lot, complimented by people on the tour who often recommend places they’ve seen.

    Hi Valerie. Your video came at the perfect time. I just spent a whole day researching and analysing if it's worth to get the Prague City Card. You're right. First, you can save money IF you visit the major sights. Secondly, the problem is, to maximise, you really have to rush from one place to another so that you can visit all the major sights if it's even practical. I actually tried various combinations based on the location and the type of sight in order to make them time efficient 🥴... quite an impossible itinerary. Thirdly, you will end up so mentally and physically exhausted ... which makes you think, am I on holiday or not?! Fourthly, perfect recommendation from Valerie that it's also important to spend some time to walk leisurely some of Prague smaller streets and sidewalks and admire the beautiful buildings and architecture. I will be visiting Prague (and other towns) in August, and I don't think I'd be purchasing the Prague City Card. 😊😊. Thanks Valerie. You're a legend 💯💯

    I visited many cities and these tourist passes are mostly NOT worthy. Many museums are closed in summer due to reconstructions and only some % of atractions is owned by city, so you still have to pay in most of places.

  • @libork8106
    @libork8106 Před 2 lety +2

    Valerie, great points.
    I just can't imagine 30 minutes for lunch ??? Praha has so many nice restaurants and it would be a sin not to enjoy them, of course it may take 2 hours for lunch , but who cares ..., I rather skip the exhibits ..
    From my experience is good to do one big and one smaller exhibit per day in relaxed manner and then have a good foot massage ...
    The schedules you presented are really not practical, could say crazy, clearly it is geared to just justify the pass, and doesn't take in consideration the ability of people or families with kids

    This story is actually applicable to ANY tourist place. I don't know one single city where I would recommend anybody getting a visitor pass - it never pays off, unless (indeed) you're running from museum to museum. And somehow nobody does that.

    How about Prague Card, it seems to be sth else, you don't have scripted schedule, you also have discounts on food, free public transport etc. not just museum and attractions, and you get guide book. 4 day card is much cheaper than this visitor pass, specially for students. It is weird because different sites have different prizes. Is it official and if so is it worth to get one ?

    I could not use is at all. Because many things on the list were already free and at entrance i always heared we do not accept this card. After complaining they refused to refund. My advise is buy only the local transport cards and pay for events so you don't have to do the where can i use or will someone accept my card tour.

    All those passes are the same, not just in Prague: you need to visit so many attractions, always in a hurry, in a short period of time to justify the price. If you want to really learn and appreciate what you are seeing, this pass is not for you. On the other hand, if all you want is to take a superficial look, maybe a couple pictures and hop to the next attraction just to say you have been there then this is exactly what you need.
