I think part of talking about Conan/Kudo as the modern Holmes would include talking about how much of his supporting cast serves similar functions. Movie 6 explicitly connected the Junior Detective League to the Baker Street Irregulars, Kogoro is is the Lestrade, Megure the Gregson, Ran is Watson but just not the function most stereotypically associate Watson with.
But what's most interesting is the way Yusaku his father serves the Mycroft role. I'm always amused when adaptations overplay Mycroft's implied connection to British Intelligence, making him Run it (often saying he's the original M when wanting to build some massive pulp crossover universe) it actually contradicts other aspects of Mycroft's personality to claim he devoted that much time to anything. Yusaku is Mycroft more then anyone who's been called Mycroft in the last 30 years.

2:49 I was agreeing with everything you said this and I laughed. No hate but he is so far from being a great dad or a loyal husband 😂😂
But otherwise I really liked this analysis and there’s definitely lots of development that I never noticed, nice video!

I have a theory that me and a friend of mine came up with. In the first episode, it was Vermouth who gave APTX4869 to Kudo Shinichi, not Gin.

[Sorry if the reply is long]
Well in the first episode what Gin did was hit Shinichi so that he only falls unconscious and does not die. He then took out a pill with his right hand and gave it to Shinichi by saying that Shinichi will die which didn't happen. His argument was that APTX will make a perfect murder.
However other times, Gin always tries to eliminate people even if its left as a mysterious case like he decided to blow up an entire train, he murdered Hirota Masami, he ordered to kill people in public. In movies, he went as far to kill people using choppers and V22 Osprey. He also uses left hand to kill people.
In episode 1 remake, we also see that Vermouth went Japan to meet Shinichi and she also didn't expose his identity to BO.
Which makes us think that in episode 1 it was Vermouth and not Gin as she didn't want to kill Shinichi and being aware of APTX, she gave that to Shinichi.
She probably went with Vodka as they probably don't occupy a higher position and they can just commit suicide, if exposed. There might have been some reason.
Also, considering the character of Gin, he would have killed Shinichi and made it certain that Shinichi died and he also doesn't remember that he killed Heisei Holmes. When he said that he doesn't remember the number of people he has killed, he probably means ordinary people or businessman, Shinichi was quite different from all others.

@@Anonymationsthecoolanimator Wow, that’s very interesting. I always asked myself, why question why didn’t Gin shoot Shinichi. But if it is Vermouth then I want to know why?

@@PROSKILLS323 Yes, but its still just a hypothesis that me and my friend came up with and there's no guarantee if its true or not. If it turns out to be true(which is possible since the theory is logical), we will go insane.

Am I the one who sees ayumi suspicious? Like in some cases her small observations and action becomes the cause for a case to either happen or solved. I cant think of it as coincidence since I already saw it happen many times.
