Hello, I will soon to be a cochlear implant recipient. I did so research online with the various companies that makes cochlear implants and after careful reviewing I decided on the cochlear Nucleus 8. My audiologist and I found it meets all my requirements and needs. I will have an implant on my right ear and a ReSound hearing aid for my left ear. I think I made the right choice with Cochlear Limited. I can wait for my surgery and activation day. Thank you for making very informative videos, I have learned a lot.

You should have shown the Nucleus 8 beside a Nucleus 7 so that people could see the difference in size. Still a good video though.

I am using n8 processor since November 2022 and don’t find any differences in forward focus mode on nucleus smart app . It’s slightly 5% difference and still can hear the noise. I enjoyed the clarity in Kanso 2 processor. After switching to n8 there’s no excitingly differences and improvements or any of new changes for the same which I was expecting on forward focus mode sound in noisy environment. There is the missing of phonetic sounds like emphasising the letter sound starting with s, sh, ch, z, r, l

My Wife will be happy to hear you have made them smaller!
I am curious however about the sound quality of the new nucleus 8. Has it changed? As in, can you use nucleus to hear better?

I'm hearing an annoying harsh tin like sound when I hear voices like the letter S and T with my BAHA 6. I've tried using the equaliser in the BAHA Smart app but I can't find the ideal combination of bass, mid and treble. Treble has an annoying constant sound when I put it half way up. Also, after listening to videos sometimes a whooshing sound will play shortly after in my BAHA 6 when everything is silent.
The BAHA 5 was better for me because I didn't hear an annoying sound.

I Love the concept. Just bought a $ 1000. android. Wife would kill buying a iPhone to operate. this hearing device. But she wouldn't have to yell to get my attention.

With all the mobile phones today being waterproof and able to take video underwater, how far away are Cochlear from a waterproof processor without the clunky aqua+

Hello Shawn, great question - Cochlear's Research and Development team are continually working on innovations in sound processor design. While the Nucleus 8 Sound Processor does have an IP68 rating, the timeframe for availability for updates like that depends on research and development timelines, manufacturing processes and regulatory approvals.

Hello Kieran, we are very sorry that you are still experiencing issues with the captions. If you are watching the video on a social media platform such as Facebook where the link may be reposted it is possible the platform is not able to correctly transfer the captions, however if you click-through to watch the video on CZcams the captions are not auto-generated and they are accurate.
