''I have Kanso 1 and I had this when I was 11 years old ( I'm 17 and in 2 weeks I'm becoming 18 years old ). So I've had it as a hearing device for six years. The advantages of Kanso 1 are that I can play football or basketball without problem ( I can use Kanso 1 with a hair clip if I want to play comfortably during training, game or life). BUT the disadvantage is that I can't understand it well. I mean I can't understand what people are saying to each other or to me. If I go out with a new friend, I will ask him "what, what did you say or i didn't understand, can you repeat it" etc etc. I can not understand my classmates. I can hear them but I can not understand them. Is like you are hearing a new language but you can not understand. That's how I felt all the time. And because of this I have no friends. So I am alone. I don't have any friends. So I haven't found a friend for 2 years. From class 10 till now (class 11). After Middle School and Junior High school ( Grade 1-9 )l, I had no friends in Secondary high school (Grade 10- present 11). I was lucky to have friends when I was in Middle School and Junior High School ( Grade 1-9 ), but my luck ran out in Secondary high school (Grade 10- present 11 ). Also I have problems with pronunciation, so I have an accent. I have a close friend and he has Nucleus 7 and speaks like he is from our country. People ask me every time "where are you from, you don't look like you are from here etc, etc which is very annoying for me. I suggest you guys don't buy this. I am warning you because you will suffer a lot just like me. It is better if you get Nucleus 7 or 8. If you don't have money for Nucleus 7 or 8, buy KANSO 2 but DO NOT BUY KANSO 1. You will suffer a lot. Don't buy it. You can't understand anything with Kanso 1. And also I am not lying, if you think I am lying it's your problem.''

shes had years of sign language, and reading books, lip reading, to put all the concepts of human language together. When she reads someones lips it's already understood.
How do I pair this if my ReSound hearing aid is already paired under hearing devices? I don’t see an option where I can connect both at once. Been a HA user since I was 1 in both ears and now I’m using the implant in my right and HA in my left. I’ve tried to connect my hearing aids under Bluetooth after “forget device” under hearing devices but no luck with having it show up under Bluetooth.

Hello David. Thank you for contacting us this afternoon. We remain committed to our earliest recipients and continue to work to make new technologies available to them. Similar to other processor launches, Nucleus 8 Sound Processor is not currently compatible with the Nucleus 22 Cochlear Implant. The timeframe for compatibility with the Nucleus 22 implant depends on research and development timelines, manufacturing processes and regulatory approvals.

Cochlear Americas - Can the Osia be used by a patient who has a traditional BAHA device (Cochlear Super Power 5) and an update?
Great question! If you already have the Baha System we would suggest discussing this question with your hearing health professional or ENT Doctor. A switch to the Osia System would require surgery and consideration. Your doctor can advise the best option for you.

I was activated a few weeks ago but the app isnt good. The app randomly disconnects from my processor saying it can't find it. This has happened many times over the last 3 weeks since ive been activated. I have a Samsung a53 5g and its compatible with the app. I've read on the google play store that others having the same issue as I am. I feel the app needs to be updated for better connectivity with our devices. I also understand that this has been a glaring issue over the years and it seems that it has never been fully addressed and fixed. Please address and fix the issue. I also can't call customer care since I'm not able to use my phone for calls yet. I'm hoping this issue can be resolved in a future app update. I do find it very frustrating that the app has poor Bluetooth connectivity. Thanks for reading my message.

I pray that your child(Ren) won't be angery with you when they get older and find out you didn't give them all the possible advantages you could have. For alot of children of hearing parents grow older and find out their parents wanted them normal hearing children. This is when they discover the deaf world and the beautiful language of the deaf community that could have grown up having to first languages of spoken English and asl.

It hurts me all the time and I absolutely hate it. The BAHA 5 was no better. It's a piss poor solution. I really hate it.

Hello C.A., I wanted to take a moment to thank you for giving me my hearing back. I have not been able to hear pretty much nothing on my right ear. I just been implanted on 2/15/24. and I love it. I had little to no pain from the procedure. I was 0% word recognition and now I'm at 56% and sentences 81% in one months time. I was so amazed as well as my audiologist and sergeon. I was given a low possibility of hearing anything since I been profound in my right ear for more than 30 years. My left ear has severe loss and I am getting a ReSound hearing aid for that side. Since my left ear is my strongest side I am relying on my right side primarily now. I am just so happy I can hear sounds I have not heard in a long time, sounds my old hearing aids didn't pick up. I've done my research and out of all the CI brands Cochlear America stood out above the rest. Thank you again for being the leaders and innovators in the industry.
