  • Chrysanthemums are back on-trend, and pretty easy-going as far as care & handling, but what about those little "hair nets" they come packed in? Take them off, or leave them on? In this Tulip Tuesday How-To Video Leanne shares "best practices" used by professional florists. Enjoy!

    This Tuesday Tip brings back a memorie that leaves me 😂🤣😂🤣😂!!! Several years ago I did all the flowers for my niece's wedding. It was way out in a little country church & thankfully I got permission to do all my work in their kitchen the day before & morning of. The day before I hauled all my materials out there, processed all my fresh flowers, and began creating. It got late & all I had left was 2 large urn designs for the altar, then for the reception after the ceremony. Wedding day I go out & make the designs & place them on the Altar. I had left the netting on the large chrysanthemums until that morning for the country ride to the church. It wasn't until very late at night at the reception that I walked past the stage where my urns were that I realized I had missed removing the netting from one lone mum. 😂😂 No wonder why every time while designing I had stepped back to see how it was shaping up, one urn seemed missing something in just one area!! Great tip, FDI !!!❤🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

      This is such a marvelous story, Roxy! Thank you very much for sharing it with us and for watching this nifty Tulip Tuesday Tip. When you are busy designing for a wedding, it's easy to overlook something small like the net on the chrysanthemum. It happens to all of us, but it's funny that we know something is off, but we cannot put our finger on it in the moment. We hope all went well for the wedding overall and we are sure that the flowers were truly lovely if you did them. Hope to see you tomorrow for Live and wishing you an amazing week! P.S. Best wishes to your niece too!

    Would you use Quick Dip? Recently I have had to use petal proofer as most of the chrysanthemums are already beginning to shatter. Chere 🌷

      I think the quality of the chrysanthemums you bought weren't good.

      Hello Chere! That's an excellent question. We don't usually use Quick Dip with chrysanthemums, but it's definitely worth a try. Leanne loves to run floral experiments and it's worth it to try it and see what happens. We're always sad when chrysanthemums shatter and we want to help prevent that whenever possible. Petal Proofer is a good way to keep that from happening, and we may have another video about that as well. We'll look for it for you. Thank you for taking time to watch this Tulip Tuesday Tip, and we hope to see you tomorrow for Live as well. Wishing you all the best and hope this is a splendid week for you!

    Why the cold water?

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Před 4 měsíci

      That's an excellent question, Garven! Many flowers like water at room temperature. A few prefer hot water and some like chrysanthemums prefer cold water. Leanne starts with best practices for flower care and handling, then she also experiments on her own with flowers to see what the results are. Thank you for dropping by to watch our Tulip Tuesday Tip. It was a pleasure to have you here and we look forward to the next time you can join us. Best wishes and please have a superb week!
