  • What Do We Think?
This guitar has got BODY. Sweet highs, lots up pickup options, and beautiful aesthetics. All that’s great. But what we keep coming back to is the rich midrange. A Korina neck and body can sometimes be a recipe for a guitar that sits a little on the bright side. But this guitar is thick and full. Every note is fat, round and punchy.
Worried about clarity? Don’t be. The guitar still delivers that sweet, singing upper register you expect with Korina. The ebony fretboard also tightens up the string attack a bit compared to rosewood, making sure you don’t suffer any loss of detail or clarity.
The three pickups and 5-way switch are wired just like a Strat. And yes, you do get some marvelous “in-between” positions. They sound like a Strat with some nice mastering compression built in. With a low wind / standard wind / high wind Lollar Imperial combination, each position maintains perfect balance both tonally and in terms of output.
Another highlight of this guitar is the Graph Tech ResoMax wraparound bridge, featuring six individual saddles to give you full control over intonation. It’s made of a strong but lightweight aluminum alloy, giving you the resonance and immediate response of a classic wraparound with perhaps a little more beef to it. It also features a magnetic lock to the studs so you don’t have to worry about it falling off during quick string changes if you slack all strings at once.

I thought I was done seeing mashups of every single 1950s guitar design, but "Snakehead Telecaster + 3PU Les Paul Custom with a Strat switch" was definitely something I've not seen before.
It also validates my incredibly strong feeling that the way Gibson only ever put 3-way switches on 3-pickup guitars was ridiculously stupid given how good the positions missing from the switch can sound. The only thing missing from this guitar in my eyes is a push-pull to make it a 7-way. I never find "all 3 on" useful, but the 5 Strat positions plus "Neck & Bridge" are all beautiful and distinct tones that should be standard on all 3-pickup guitars IMO.
