As a fan of borderlands 1 through 3 I dont want an "expansive open world". The magic of borderlands' areas is in that there are a lot of them and they wary. Id rather have many smaller open areas to explore than just a few handful really big ones ones. And I think majority of people can agree that the humor needs to be toned down. When I heard gearbox say that NTFTB will be like a sitcom, my eyes rolled out of my head. BL2 had funny stuff in it, but it was also serious and took itself seriously enough. And gun editing has no place in borderlands, when the entire point is farming guns and getting the one you want. What point in any of that if you can just "edit" your guns...
A lot of these were obviously your own opinions, but dont title the video "what the fans want" when a lot of these are honestly pretty controversial opinions.

This honestly makes sense. Some of these were things I have saw from other sources that I liked. I agree now from your explanation about editing guns, that makes total sense. I do wish we could change/add elements though.

story wise i think itd make sense to explore whatever is inside pandora. Obviously it just being a storeroom for artifacts and guns would suck so i think itd be cool if it contained a leyline to the multiverse like a lot of series are doing right now. Like imagine it opens and now you have to deal with parallel universes where handsome jack, commondant steele, troy and tyreen won, sort of like their ultimate versions of themselves. Maybe even have alternate versions of protagonists too like a lilith who never stopped elpis burdened with the guilt of letting her friends die, a version of typhon who never decided to settle down and start a family, a version of ava who doesnt suck and alienate the player from the story after shes introduced. I think the length would need to be really long to get all of this to work as the intro would need to deal with loose ends from 3 for a few hours before you get to the multiverse section, which should probably be like 4/5ths of the story length to properly explore their ideas rather than throw them out like how aurelia poisons troy and tyreens relationship or tyreens grief at the loss of her brother in 3. Also i think the craftable gun idea would be cool, like maybe you have to collect the gun multiple times with different attachments kind of like catch a ride in 3, then you can add any attachments you collected.

This was my idea, You could farm more for a weapon part that you want to swap over to you gun. Just an idea!

Gun editing is the very last thing that should be added to this franchise. As a lover of Destiny 2 and seeing how gun crafting and editing just takes away the hunt, it should not be added to this franchise where we relish the hunt for our weapons. Would it be convenient? Yeah, but that's not why we play this game and it would probably ruin or dampen the game massively.

an open world would not be a good idea imo. but also having a hallway for a map is not good as well. looking back at Eden 6 (specifically the floodmoor basin) as the most expansive and open map in the franchise, but it was a shleppening of a life time to just get through it, but not even in a fun way either, yes there were a few quests here and there to explore that map, but would you bother exploring the whole map happily thrice over? no, not really. and of course the worst ever hallway map i ever experienced in the core game of any BL game would also be Athenas. As it was a whole planet of nothing but one hallway and that's it, other planets at least had three world map locations. (not counting the challenge eredien structures or the raids or whatever the Ava's DLC was, i never played it though and don't plant to) usually a hallway map is a transition area in the game if we look at bl2, mobbing from one end to the other, like in the bloodshot stronghold/ramparts. the stronghold at least had a few areas to nicely explore, the ramparts directing you towards the rescue of Roland and still having stuff to find there too at the end of it, plus we didn't linger too long in the ramparts, unlike in Athenas. Btw i loved the aesthetic of Athenas as well and i am just sad there wasn't more of it.
what i am saying here, a map can be explored fully and enjoyed with any secrets it may have with out having to be open world or a hallway towards the plot progression.
plus, it is easier for the game to load and not stutter if it tries to load in the next area in the distance.

This makes sense. I really agree with everything you said. A good mix between both linerar but let explore more would be nice.

A samurai like, where with each skill chains as well having gaige’s skill limit oh and with each kill gives 5 seconds, and does a guaranteed hit with a % slag, those would come with trees 👏👌. Having an different elemental explosion with a water element and something like electricity and fire make an EXPLOSION or something 🤟. Do a dlc with Ava or something. With the gang saying some peace to maya would do some good.

Can we please throw back to BL1 and bring back weapon proficiencies? Give me a reason to use all the weapons in the game, not just one type. I strived to keep all of my proficiencies level as I played through BL1.

I agree on more adult humor. Tina is so fucking annoying.

Here's what I would like to see:
Bring back the tone and atmosphere of BL1. BL1 took itself and its' characters more seriously. There was humor for sure, but it was for the most part more subdued and spread out and didn't rely on constant "loud = funny" like BL3.
Don't bring back the vehicles. For all its' faults, Tina's Wonderlands showed that the BL formula does not need vehicles for it to work.
Lastly, for the love of God, PLEASE LET US SKIP THE DIALOGUE. Seriously, there's is SO MUCH standing around waiting for characters to finish talking. It's unnecessary.

OH MY GOD! Skip dialogue better be a must have feature in Borderlands 4. But i agree. I do think vehicles are necessary in some parts but you are right. Wonderlands did prove they weren’t needed with good map design
